Frank maxes out his levels when he hits 50. If I recall correctly, the order that you get certain abilities in changes from game to game, so it's kind of difficult to say how easy it'll be for one person at level 20 when someone else at level 20 could have a very different skill set.

Ancient Greece not "back in the day" enough for you?

Zombie ride is used to get on top of a large crowd of zombies. Once on top, don't hit jump again or you will spring off of your current zombie into pretty much certain death. If you just start trying to walk as normal when on top of the zombies, you'll start to awkwardly crawl over them, making it far easier to get to the other side of said large crowd. And the number on the wiggling is how many seconds you have until you take a whole crapload of damage. I think. ?

So, just finished GoW2. I gotta say, it's not every game that captivates me enough to plow through it in 3 sittings. I spent from 4:30 until about 10 enthralled right up to the credits. An admirable use of the only real day off I have until two weeks from now, if I may say so. Got a small problem with the game though. What the crap was with that cliffhanger? I mean, yeah. I'm hyped for GoW3 now, but are endings like that really all that wise for a video game? I can understand in movies when you film a movie and its sequel simultaneously and are sure you'll be able to finish the story, but now I have to wait several years to see what the hell happens to Kratos? At least now I know what'll finally prompt me to get a PS3 whenever it comes out...

placentaplatters! ...well, I thought it was kinda creative.

Got a copy of Smokin' Aces mixed in with some deal HMV was running earlier this week and decided to watch it tonight after getting home from the bar as I was in the mood for something mindless and fun. I'm lucky I wasn't drunk while watching it, because it would have been ridiculously hard to follow otherwise. That was a hell of a lot better than I expected. Some shouts of joy were had, a few gasps, and I've decided that I really like Ryan Renolds. He actually put in an extremely solid performance, and combined with Half Nelson has now proven in my mind that he's a very talented actor. It was a lot of fun, and I'd recommend it for anyone who's out for a movie that just lets you enjoy the spectacle for a while. Not replacing Starship Troopers as my favorite movie for such situations, but it's up there. Also, a friend has told me to track down a copy of Cinema Paradiso, as he claims that my love life is a combination of this and Eternal Sunshine. Has anyone seen it and can you tell me if this is good or not? Also, how's the movie? I noticed it in a 2 for $20 deal when I was getting that pack that had Smokin' Aces in it, so if it's worth the $10 that it would cost me, I'll probably just pick it up.

Upon further play, hell yes it's worth it. I haven't jumped out of my chair in triumph during a game for a long time, but when Shy Guy kicked in the winning goal with 3 seconds left in the elimination game against Mario (final score: 2 - 1) I was up and pumping my fist with glee. Happened again two games later when Monty Mole scored his first and only goal of the tournament. Happened to be the only goal in the game that won me the series though, so I think I can say he's pulled his weight. In conclusion, crap this game is fun. And I usually hate sports games that aren't Tennis, so that may help your decision. I don't know if I'd choose it over Metroid Prime Corruption, which is due in a couple of weeks, but it's a great reason to turn on the Wii, and I'm looking forward to getting some multiplayer (both local and online) time in over the weekend.

Try wearing nothing but a thong to any other palace and they'll look at you funny. At Dollar Palace, they're impressed by your impeccable fashion sense. I always get all teary eyed when it's time to leave.

EDIT: Tasteless comment about Yufster's sister removed. (especially given that I'm not sure of her exact age)

Well, as I don't have any message waiting, I'd say you picked the wrong one. The PW you're looking for is 19 in Calgary, AB, Canada.

I noticed that during the Ginger Kids episode of South Park. Having Cartman going on racist rants about those "damned Gingers" seemed just a bit too risky for me, but noone else seemed to notice.

Crackdown wins Develop's "Innovation" prize

Dammit, I have 493 agility orbs, and the last 7 are driving me crazy. Only have about 175 hidden though. Does the game do anything special once you've tracked them all down? -
I too have been sucked into facebook. My bastard friend wanted to put up some drunken pictures of me and tag me, but couldn't because I didn't have an account. He then proceeded to sign me up for one. Now I'm always getting notifications from people that I'd rather just ignore. Grah! ...and Spidermonkey, that's never been a problem for me. Something about "miffy495" makes it unappealing to the hardcore crowd, meaning it's always mine to use. EDIT: holy crap. As I was submitting this, I got an email from facebook about a new message. Damn that thing is cancer.

Damn, how far in is the mecha-dino? I got past the fortress, but that shit sounds incredible.

So far? Only had the chance to work in 5 matches, but it seems to be a faithful continuation. The game is a bit deeper this time around, as you can customize your sidekick squad with different characters and abilities, meaning that your entire team is up to you. I quite enjoy having Monty Mole beat the hell out of the opposition while Shy Guy and Koopa Troopa work on their passing game. It's definitely more difficult than the gamecube one, but not so much that it's really giving me any trouble. I have yet to dive into online, which from the sounds of things is where the game truly proves itself, so I don't feel quite qualified to offer a full verdict yet. Still, it's nice to have a reason to remove the RE4 disc now and again and play something new.

http://kotaku.com/gaming/clips/dragonforces-guitar-hero-iii-finger-mangler-286084.php Granted, it's probably only going to hold me over for the month between it and Rock Band's release, but now my worries that they were going to tone down the difficultly have been put to rest. That one looks like I'll be spending time in practice mode just to get through the intro, much like my first couple of times through Carry Me Home. Anticipation level has gone from :tmeh: to

OK, just got it. My code is 219150632240. If anyone wants a game later, post up the codes and lets get some rivalries going.

I'll also chime in with support for Quake 4. While nothing spectacular, it was a very solid shooter that I enjoyed immensely. Also, not really Id so much as Raven, but that's beside the point.

So I bought GoW2 when I picked up Guitar Hero 80s (figured as long as the PS2 was hooked up, I may as well finally play it) and had my first chance to play it today. Holy shit. Everything GoW was multiplied by about 50. So bloody good. When a boss fight has 3 save points in it, you know you're in for something epic. I'd just activated those giant stone horses when my nephews got back from the park with my sister and I had to switch back to Excite Truck. I can't wait until the kids are asleep and I can go back to it. Fantastic game, and the kills from when you're riding the pegasus are beautiful every time.

Honestly, it's pretty smart. As soon as your name gets over two words, people are so much less likely to remember it. The example that was pointed out to me lately was the new movie The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford. Yeah. I had to look that one up on imdb as I couldn't remember which coward it was. The people I was discussing this with couldn't even remember whether it was "assassination" or "death." Compare that to the simplicity of Rage and all of a sudden Id seems brilliant.

...and it's bought. Yay! I'll be playing RTCW over the long weekend!
-
Wait... how entire is entire here? I never played RTCW, and I really want to. Is this like, every id game out there? If so, where's my credit card?
-
Their mom isn't really big on the "video games" thing, which I'm sure will become moot once they start regularly going over to friend's houses, but whatever. Currently, they dig Excite Truck, but don't really get the concept of racing. They just go around looking for the best jumps until the level times out and they pick a different map. Fair enough, and it is quite fun, but I think wrapping their heads around a game like Strikers would require a bit more grounding in the basics of gaming.

Crap, I'd forgotten about the previous thread. Sorry for starting a new one... As for difficulty, I'm with Rodi. There are some bits that are brutally hard, yeah, but most of them are boss fights. If you fail those you can restart about 30 seconds before the fight. Seems fair to me.
