It's ok up here, where at least our Conservative government is only a minority (and by most accounts our conservatives are on par with your liberals) but you may want to wait a while. We're currently building up steam for our 3rd election in 4 years. Rumour has it it'll be held sometime in mid to late October. At least wait for election fervor to settle down up here before you come up. Don't want to wander into any pitched debate when you just moved in a week or two ago. Oh, and you'll have to learn to spell things the real way and say "zed" instead of "zee." Some people still don't get that, and it irritates me to no end. I don't rightly know why though... (This is of course a tip for Americans and not Wrestlevania. Being from the UK and all, he already knows how to spell things and say the alphabet the way nearly every country does)

Actually, the story of MGS3 didn't really get all that amazing for me until I played Portable Ops and (to a certain extent) MGS4. Those two games lend so much more weight to what went on in MGS3 and the mythology really does get a lot more fleshed out knowing all that. If you have/when you get/if you get a PS3, make sure to download the MGS database and at least read up on what happened in PO. It makes 3 that much more integrated into the overall storyline and the whole thing seemed a lot more important when I went for my second playthrough because of it.

Yeah, didn't mention this one because people like to slag it as yet more evidence that Rare has gone downhill, but I still really like the game. Also wasn't sure if it fit into the definition of "fun games" that we're working with, given that it's all about beating on ogre-things. Still, consider this one seconded. If not under "fun," than at least under "worth playing." Now this one didn't even cross my mind. I'd been kind of interested in it, but had heard nothing but a chorus of "mehs" from everyone I know who'd played it. I wouldn't mind hearing some more details on it, as it's really cheap now and if it's worth a play, why the hell not?

Awesome. So from what I can gather, it's a platformer/combat with the blow yourself up for combos element of Every Extend? Sounds pretty sweet to me. Even if I'm dead wrong, the trailer has me wanting more. Count me in.

Thieve's Arena was a bitch. Used a lot of RT+B saved my ass in there as Blue Knight. Freezing everyone allowed me to get through it with one potion left. Hate those fucking archers. Also, the volcano level playing as the Ice powered guy meant at least half my life gone per hit. I didn't realize elemental stuff played into that...

Ah, fair enough. I apologize for not being able to play this morning, Tanukitsune. It was one of those "Hell, I don't have to leave for work for another 20 minutes, I should play some Castle Crashers before I go!" moments, and you caught me when I really didn't have the time for a co-op. This does not negate the willingness to play when I don't have to run away 15 minutes later.

Just so we're clear, I did notice the angle was lower than the earlier trilogy, but I never had any problems with it...

Pretty damned addictive, I gotta say. Really enjoying trying to find those little animal orb guys. Right now I quite dig Bitey Bat. Cute little bugger who latches on to your enemies heads and causes them no small amount of pain and distraction. For me though, no one kicks a better side than Rammy, the little mountain goat animal orb. Mowing a line of enemies down for me to openly whallop? Yes please. What with the rideable things, magic spells and all, I'd call it a descendent of Golden Axe more than anything else. The RPG-lite elements are quite good. You can definitely see your character improving as you go, and finding that perfect weapon and sidekick is pretty fun. The amount of weapons in this game looks to be absolutely massive. I really want to trick my guy out with the lightsaber, but the giant meat tenderizer is just too powerful to give up right now. The +2 buff to strength is what's carrying me through many of the boss fights. When my character's natural strength is higher, I'll probably switch just so I can have the awesome of playing through a beat 'em up with a lightsaber (and Bitey Bat!), but until then, it's meat tenderizer and Rammy all the way. My little Blue Knight guy is now at level 13 (maybe 14?) and I also took the minion guy from the Barbarian levels out for a spin, since I unlocked him in the King's Arena thing. Got an achievement for beating the boss of the first set of levels with one of his own minions, too. This is a really solid little game. Totally worth the 1200 MS Points. Actually sorta making me want to go back and replay Alien Hominid for the umpteenth time. Now though, is time for bed.

Well, that was weak-willed of me. But then, what's a credit card for if not buying useless things a week or so before you can actually afford them? I'm game for multiplayer if anyone sees me online... EDIT: Hey, awesome! If you already own Alien Hominid HD, you get the little guy as a playable character right off the bat! Haven't used him yet, choosing to go with the little Blue knight first (level 9 right now, if anyone's curious) but I may have to give him a shot soon.

Downloaded the demo and quite impressed. I'll probably buy the full thing on Thursday when I get paid and have some walking around money. Happy to play with you then.

I just got back from two weeks away from home last night. One weekend at the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival in BC, the rest of the time visiting various siblings across Southern Ontario and seeing my younger sister safely to her new residence at the University of Waterloo. Trip over, I'm back. Expect my usual degree of non-contribution to resume.
