That picture just made my day. Thanks, n0wak.
-
Same. Used to work. Broken now.

See, I only get to vote in Canada, so the total contribution I have now made to the US Presidential race is to give $50 to a man who gave McCain a ton of cash. Awesome.
-
Yeah, it's not anything against Wright himself. He can believe anything he wants for all I care. It's the idea that I'm indirectly funding McCain that bothers me.
-
Well, if it's Canada in general, I'd recommend talking to twmac and n0wak as well. Getting perspectives on Montreal, (twmac) Toronto, (n0wak) and the Prairie provinces (me) may be more useful than just one of them. twmac and n0wak, I belive you each called those places home one time or another. If I'm wrong, don't hesitate to bitch-slap the truth into me.

I think it had something to do with my spelling of "faeces" combined with my revelation in some earlier thread that we say "zed" over here. I'll warn you that while we do technically adhere to proper spellings and pronunciation, I take more care than most due to my father being British and teaching me proper spelling and grammar. I have friends who still say that it's pronounced "zee" because "that's how they said it on Sesame Street..." They're in the minority, but they do exist. While "zed" is still prominent, I haven't met anyone else who says "maths" instead of "math." Some words have stood up to the American linguistic onslaught better than others.
-
Is that picture a part of the faeces production process, or have we changed subjects?
-
Nah, my stomach did a bit of a cartwheel when I heard that as well. Still, he already has my money, so there's not much I can do about it.
-
EDIT: *ahem* Didn't realize this thread was in the subforum when I posted. My bad...

Awesome. And yeah, I am incredibly excited for M&L 3. Toblix, I'll be sure to think of you as I revel in it.
-
I'm psyched to play it, but don't get paid til Thursday, and then have a bunch of assignments due on Monday. I'll probably get on it next week sometime early.
-
Very rad. Well done.
-
Well, Crackdown has some racing, but you can successfully go through the entire game without ever doing it. Even then, half the races are footraces which are incredibly fun to do scaling buildings and all. I'd give it a shot if I were you.

Dammit! We were having such a good run of no-spambots!
-
I have, but it's not all that bad. I don't get the hate. I give it a passing grade. C+. Maybe a B- if it didn't have that really drawn out ending.

Agreed, except the leaderboards thing doesn't really apply to me all that much because I play more for sheer fun and don't really care how the competition is doing. One thing that I have noticed is that the drums seem significantly harder this time around. 3rd tier expert felt like 6th tier from RB1. As someone who still hasn't made it past whatever tier Enter Sandman was in, this frightens me. I switched to guitar for a while, so I don't know what the drums look like for Pinball Wizard yet, but I'm kinda scared of what it'll be like when I try it. Guitar I have no fear of. Seems to be on par, difficulty-wise, but unless it was really markedly harder, I'd be harder pressed to notice than I am with drums. I love love LOVE the track selection this time. Things like E Pro and Float On make me very happy, while the girlfriend is huge on Teenage Riot and Rebel Girl. We both love Feel the Pain, Drain You, etc. And as always the classic rock stuff is expertly chosen. I'm incredibly impressed with their 90s and later stuff this time around though. There doesn't seem to be a Fall Out Boy-ish track in the bunch yet!

Yeah, I got that email too. I'm downloading it now just in case my telltale account info works...

Got it. Will report back later.

As I made a thread to express my frustration over, mine did that temporarily the day that Geometry Wars 2 came out. No problems since, and I'm about to go have a Rock Band 2 marathon, so fingers crossed.

Got my preorder slip. Got Sunday off work. Got everything set for a band playthrough of as much campaign as we can stomach.

Anyone got it? I could really go for some mindless action about now (so much so that I've been thinking about booting up Saints Row again just for kicks) and this game is looking like it may be the answer. Reviews are mid-range, but they were for Crackdown too and that game brought the fun like few others can hope to. What's the word, Thumbs?
-
Oh hell, I already owned Saints Row. I thought that game was not much special, but still quite a fun GTA clone. Still do. I enjoy it quite a bit despite how often the jokes fall completely flat. Never finished it though, and it turns out in the months since I last played it that my save file has become corrupted so now I have to start over from scratch. Played the first few missions the other night and not much has changed. Still feels like a current-gen version of the last-gen GTAs, but I'm fine with that. Still, thanks for the info on Mercenaries. I'm still interested, but it seems like a rental may be in order.

I just put in my preorder for LBP yesterday. Now I have one of those Kratos costume redeem codes but the site to redeem it doesn't seem to be working. Poo...

Oh shit, if Pixar is in on this, I'm going to need new pants.

Damn, condolences. Having just recently clawed my way out of debt left from a 3 month unemployment streak, I can definitely sympathize with the "crap, there goes my job" part. Along with toblix though, I'll pledge to buy pretty much anything Idle Thumbs games puts out. Up to and including novelty shaped fridge magnets.
