  1. Dead Space

As I recall, Zero-G came up first in Chapter 3. Just FYI.
  2. FUUUUUUCK!!!

Mine lasted all the way from August 2006, which is pretty damn good for launch-spec as I understand it.
  3. Send us questions about games or stuff

Have any of you tried the new Guitar Hero? Without trying to give you any leading questions, what are your thoughts on the drum and vocal implementations?
  4. Fallout 3

How exactly does the hacking work? I couldn't get the hang of that. At any rate, I just spent the evening with a friend who'd been playing for about the same amount of time I had and swapped stories. After the tutorials, we'd played completely different games. I'd wandered to the West, had run dangerously low on ammo after my first crippling super-mutant encounter and had become used to using baseball bats and this antique Chinese officer's sword I'd found while scavenging a (mostly) abandoned vault I stumbled upon. He'd gone East, found a massive weapons cache, and had been taking part in a war he'd wandered into the midst of. This has impressed the hell out of me. We gave tips for how to find each other's biggest landmarks and the things that had wowed us the most and each went on our way. I can't wait to fire up the game again and check some of these out, but I fear that won't be until Monday night. Still, damn I'm impressed.
  5. Blue sky in games?

On PS3, I'd go with Ratchet and Clank. Good, happy, blue. De Blob on Wii looks really interesting and I'm hoping to pick it up when I have a little more time/money on my hands as well.
  6. Dead Space

Wait, all this is from just one Chapter? Give it a bit more of a chance, man. Think of the poor little dollars you spent on it!
  7. Little BIG Planet

Norlfolk, yeah it could. I find the platforming floaty at best, but it's just so damn charming I let it get away with it. If any thumbs (established only, please) want codes to download the God of War pre-order content, apparently it can be shared with up to 4 other people. PM me if you have the game and would like the Kratos, Medusa, and Minotaur costumes, as well as some GoW themed stickers.
  8. FUUUUUUCK!!!

Holy shit, that was so fast. 1 week, 2 days. Door to door. Mine's back. Well, not mine exactly, but my new one is here. Runs so much quieter than the old one. Very nice. I need to re-download all my old things to make them run on the new one offline, and that could take a fucking while but other than that I'm amazingly satisfied. ...And for the chart, that was my first RRoD.
  9. I thought Gamespot's Video Review of Charlie's Angels for the Gamecube was the go-to for hilarious reviews of bad games...
  10. What did you learn today?

Today I learned that it's astonishingly easy to put together a pokemon trainer halloween costume if you shop at American Apparel. Seriously. They have the whole outfit in that one store if you look hard enough.
  11. yeah, I wasn't even thinking about playing Far Cry 2 until you guys started going on about it. Now I need to give it a try. Jerks...
  12. Rain Slick episode 2

Any good? I liked the first one and will probably download this next week. Advanced impressions would be appreciated though...
  13. Fallout 3

Wow. That's way harsher than I was going to be. I really like this game, to be frank. I booted it up around 9 o'clock and didn't turn it off until 4:45 am. I'm very tired right now. I haven't had to get into any combat with people aside from random encounters while doing quests myself, always finding dialogue options that are allowing me to avoid combat. Maybe you're just playing too aggressively? Even angrily going after a kidnap victim ended with him happily walking out of the kidnapper's camp and me getting an offer to join their order. I really like the way that they did the world, the people and voices seem much more believable than Oblivion, and in general, I'd say this is a fantastic game. But hey, if you want to hate, be my guest.
  14. Little BIG Planet

Man, even with the servers down for almost the entire time I've been trying to play it, this game is the shit. One guy created a level that's essentially Sackboy running through the Mirror's Edge world, colours perfect and everything. So damn cool. Again though, I've only been able to go online for about an hour, the rest of my time has been going through the story levels while the servers are getting slammed with all the people trying to play. Just ran into my first glitch, which almost seemed like it was supposed to be there. There was a section in one of the Metropolis levels where I had to run across a conveyor belt with flaming logs rolling at me, but on my first go through the actual belt part didn't spawn into the level so I was trying to run along the rollers and dodge crazy amounts of flaming things. When I died and had to try again, the belt was there and I completed the level without any difficulty. That pissed me off a bit, but then I moved on to Sackboy's Ninja Training levels and all was forgiven. So yeah, even without online, this game is fantastic. The few levels that others have made that I tried were all pretty cool too, a Metal Gear spoof was particularly chuckle-worthy. Nothing compares to the insanity of the Mirror's Edge one though. If I recall, that level even made it into GameTrailers' video review, so you should be able to check out little bits of it if you want to see what I'm talking about. Actually, will work just as well.
  15. What did you learn today?

Do share. I know what I'd like to learn today...
  16. Nah, I gotcha. I just remembered saying Dead Space wasn't that scary while you guys were talking about people getting into arguments over how scary it was.
  17. So apparently I'm a dick for thinking that Dead Space is a good game despite it's not scaring me? Bah! Asparagus Live! on the other hand is bloody terrifying. Oh, and as a response to the sort-of contest from Podcast 3 that I didn't get to respond to in time, I'm a freak because I'd never played more than an hour of a non-Diablo RPG until KOTOR. n0wak, I've got your back.
  18. What did you learn today?

I learned that I can't resist a special edition that comes in a lunchbox. Damn you Fallout!
  19. FUUUUUUCK!!!

You got hit too? Damn. Oh well. Been a week since I sent mine back, so hopefully it's all on schedule.
  20. Little BIG Planet

Halfway through the third set of Story missions, have done a few challenges, and played a couple of other people's levels now. Great, great fun. Still can't seem to unlock my God of War preorder stuff though, as apparently the game isn't officially out until tomorrow. Odd, as I know about 4 other people who've also already picked up their preorders. Oh, and I picked up a song object that I'm pretty sure is the offending piece of work that caused all of this. Haven't listened to it yet, so maybe it's edited or maybe I just snuck away with an earlier copy without realizing it...
  21. Little BIG Planet

    Got it. Hooray!
  22. So, Fable 2

    Here?
  23. Rock Band 2...

Got to try GHIV last night. Totally not spending money on it. For one thing, the pedal bar is purple, and with red and blue notes it simply blends into each other too much to really know what it wants you to hit. Infuriating. Then there's the problem that every Guitar Hero since 3 has had where the timing just seems off somehow. Purple Haze was great fun, but not worth it. Soon as my 360 gets back from repairs, I'm booting up Rock Band and washing the taste of GHIV out of my mouth.
  24. Uncharted

You're getting pretty near the end, as I recall. If you go back and read the spoiler tags in the comments I started the thread with, you'll see I had the exact same reaction to the zombies as you. I believe the exact words were WTFZOMBIES???? EDIT: Actually, that reaction was in a different Uncharted thread. Here. No spoiler tags, either. Whups.
  25. Nice work. As you may have guessed from my response to the Old Republic thread, the idea of a KOTOR MMO doesn't exactly get me excited. Your discussion of the focus on story has at least got me interested, and I'll follow it more closely than I would have.
