Yeah, I'm pretty certain we're all with Toblix on this matter, although Chris does have a point and I've noticed it coming into every thread now, regardless of relevance. We've got your back man, but bringing it up in completely unrelated threads is getting a bit obsessive.

Sorry, I figured it was obvious enough that it wouldn't matter. I'll fix it. I did leave out a much juicier bit of story from the second act, as well as why the end was so damn cool. Oh well. Better safe than sorry.

The video I'm linking to contains things that you'd probably much rather discover on your own if you played that person's level. Play it before you watch. If you don't have the game, watch the video and seethe with jealousy. Holy crap, it's probably old news to a lot of people, but if you have LBP, you need to play I woke my girlfriend up last night because of all the "holy shit" exclamations I let out while I was playing. I should really move the PS3 out of the bedroom, but that's another issue. (I use headphones, so as long as I can control my exclamations of joy/frustration, it's usually fine). Anyway, play this level. I couldn't hold onto the key the first time, and as such missed out on that epic boss battle. Went back in for a second playthrough, managed to keep the key until the end, and was blown the hell away. Seriously. Go play it. Now.

Still, that's 2pm for me on a day I have off. Anytime in Wrestlevania's window, I'm good for. Toblix, I'm GMT-7. For me, 20 GMT means 13 Mountain Standard Time. As this works fine for me, I'm assuming your GMT+1 means you'd be at 21 whatever your time zone is called.
-
I think GMT is about 7 hours ahead of me. I'm out of class at 12:15, meaning I'd be getting home about 8pm GMT. That works perfectly fine for me.
-
Yeah, you can play against anyone. I'd also be up for a night of Grand Thumbs Auto. Thursday works best for me. I've got it off work and only have an hour and a half of class. Anyone game?

I'm really psyched. My girlfriend and I are huge fans of both Kaufman and Hoffman so we'll be checking this out as soon as it hits theaters in our city.

Not to bring everyone down or anything, but some news that kinda got lost in the shuffle is that Proposition 8 passed. The California constitution is going to be amended to ban gay marriage. Ain't life grand?

Just blasted through the demo twice. I actually thought the tutorial was harder than the level, as I kept on missing jumps in it. The level itself was awesome, and I was surprised by how good the running felt. This may be one to add to my "I gotta buy these after Christmas when I have money again" list.

done. I bought a headset just for this game, so hopefully I'll be getting my online on pretty soon.
-
Heh, well done. I've only just started doing some more main-questy stuff. I'd managed to get 8 hours deep into the game without talking to Moira at Craterside Supply yet. Feels kinda silly doing her tutorial stuff at this point, but XP is XP, so who am I to complain? Besides, seems like some of the items she gives me for running missions will make it more than worth it anyway. Ugh. It's now 4:53 in the morning. I should really turn this off and go to bed. Stupid awesome game...

Yeah, same here. No needless killing for me.

Wow, they really could have done a better marketing job on this one. I had to go out of my way and look it up out of curiosity about this new game I have to sell at work. Turns out it's the Wiification of Kenta Cho's superb Tumiki Fighters. I loved Tumiki, and yet still would have had no idea if I hadn't done that search just now. Anyway, now that I know what it is, I'm very curious to know how it made the transition. It was a fantastic free shooter, does anyone know if it can hold its own as a $40 game? If I had the cash to throw around, I'd be picking it up tomorrow. Unfortunately, I don't. Anybody out there in thumb-land tried this one yet?
-
Dammit. You guys just had to keep going on about it. Now I'm $44 poorer. Oh well. This seems like the type of game that makes voice-chat an essential thing. I have a bluetooth headset for my PS3, but nothing for my computer. Can anyone recommend a good (cheap) solution to get the headset and PC on friendly terms? I know I'll need an adapter, but any software solutions would be appreciated.

Toblix will probably get hacked and have to wipe other people's asses. But yeah, pretty cool. I'm excited for when this extends to savegames and I can play my files anywhere from any PC.
-
Interesting. Sort of like they're taking LBP's concept and forcing it to make the jump to 3D. I'm certainly intrigued. Man, being console agnostic is awesome. I love not feeling like I'm missing out and therefor pretend either one looks stupid. Sorry for the aside here, I'm just expressing my response to the comments on that youtube video.

I actually think the Vice City of 2003 would be better suited to zombie infestation. True, there were fewer indoor areas, but they were much more fully realized. If you could play a zombie-filled city where you could go anywhere and fend off zombies at, say, Vice Point Mall and do your Dawn of the Dead thing, or maybe head off to the airport, the arena, or wherever, I think it would work spectacularly. So many options to hole up, so much variety in your opportunities. GTAIV has some nice indoor areas, sure, but less that I can think of as a viable setpiece or staging area for intense zombie action.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
miffy495 replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
Just got an EP from a guy from Toronto who goes by Final Fantasy. Yeah, he is just that geeky. He's a classically trained violinist who branched out and began doing some incredibly cool stuff. Among his most recognizable work is that he arranged all of the strings for the Arcade Fire's Funeral. I already loved his solo album He Poos Clouds and this new EP Spectrum 14th Century is fantastic. If you're a fan of the band Beirut, (and I am) it's especially cool as for this release he decided to partner with their horn section for an even cooler sound. Definitely one to check out. -
I just checked and saw what I assume was your post about my "testimonial." Well played, sir. Well played indeed.

I got pretty sick of Sandbox games right after the GTA collection was released on Steam. Playing through all 3 games in the GTA3 Trilogy and both PSP versions will do that to you. Luckily GTA IV helped me get over it.

How do I find that level so I can heart it seven million times?
-
I actually own a copy of the Japanese version, but my grasp on the language was not nearly good enough to play it. As such, I downloaded this the second I saw it was available. So rad. Love Earthbound, and this is totally worth it.

I play all rhythm games at the default lag settings, and the only ones that have ever lagged for me are GHIII and now IV.

When I noticed there were more beard styles than hairstyles, I definitely chuckled.

Honestly, I still find myself whistling the Metal Gear theme from time to time. I know it's not really a memorable game song, but it just fits so perfectly with the series. While still on that page, that bit in Snake Eater where you climb the ladder and the bond-ish song plays is still one of my favorite moments in gaming. So yeah, my basic point is that Metal Gear does music right.
