  1. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

Yeah, c'mon. He has a disclaimer and everything.
  2. Half-Minute Hero

Was putting off homework watching Giant Bomb quicklooks, and god damn I need this game now. Can't wait.
  3. Majesty 2

The quick look certainly looked interesting. Podcast said there was a demo, is it on steam?
  4. I kinda hope not. I listen to idle thumbs on the bus. If there were a video cast, I'd have to be sitting at my computer for the entire time, and it would likely just be the same as the audio cast except that we also get to look at Chris, Nick, and Jake for the hour-plus. Radio is just a straight-up better format for what they deliver. Unless it's something really weird and new that can only be done by video, not really interested. On the other hand, maybe Chris has been preparing an album's worth of new songs over the past few months and will be putting up a full-length bonanza of music to coincide with the release of episode 50? I'm pretty sure not, but now I've got a bunch of people thinking it and getting their hopes up, which at least gives me a bit of cruel joy.
  5. Dear god. Well good luck with that then.
  6. GTA 33: Never Too Early

Are you actually going to show? In seriousness, my attendance for this one is in jeopardy. I need to set up a meeting with my supervisor. I'll try for Tuesday morning rather than afternoon, but we'll see.
  7. Well, we are both Canadian, but he clearly has an Greater-Toronto-Area Canadian accent whereas I have a Western Canadian accent. (Ha! Now all you British people can feel as ignorant as we do when you discuss regional dialects!) On the subject of voices: By now I've got Wrestle and James down (got you two mixed up a lot early on, but I've gotten a lot better) and so I know Patters as "that british guy who's voice I don't recognize right away." Thunderpeel is also British, but sounds different in a way that I can get it right away but not quite know why. Jon, by process of elimination, you were the American. That pretty much everyone? With both Wrestle and n0wak out this week, it should have been a little easier for newcomers, but that's just based on my own assumptions. All newcomers, when Grippage returns, beware the brothers 'blix. When toblix plays, he's pretty easy to pick out of the voices (listen for the screams) but he and his brother do sound a bit alike. Also, they tend to wreak havoc in the most ridiculous ways.
  8. PSP

Mine wasn't free. I paid full price for it back in 2005, when it was CAN$300. I still consider it worth it. It's not a system designed with portability in mind, as I believe I have defended, but it has certainly been a worthwhile purchase. If you think there are only 3 PSP games that haven't been done better, you have been ignoring (willfully or not) quite a lot of releases. Given the choice between the two, I would take a DS. If you already have a DS and are looking for a different experience, I have no difficulty saying you should get one.
  9. How has Idle Thumbs affected your life?

Oh shit, are we talking about the forums too? Since 2004, Idle Thumbs has been teaching me that there are places on the internet where people are worth talking to, that online multiplayer isn't always bad, (I've never had a good non-thumb online experience...) and that if you want to have discussions with people in honest to god properly spelled English, you should go to a board where a lot of people are from Europe. There's probably more, but I have to leave for work in 3 minutes, so I'm not making an exhaustive list.
  10. Mass Effect 2

Hey now, Tank Girl is awesome. Movie and books both, for different reasons of course. I think Tank Girl was handled very well. Especially soundtrack wise. Le Tigre, Bratmobile, etc fit perfectly, and the whole vibe of the movie supported that. If you like Kathleen Hannah or any other Riot Grrl stuff from the 90's, it was a great way of sneaking it into the Hollywood blockbuster. Say whatever you want about Subject Zero (I'm currently "meh" on her. She could be handled well, but the trailer sure as hell isn't promising.) but leave Tank Girl alone.
  11. Will Langdell choke to death on writs?

I did, but I don't feel conflicted about it. EA of 5 years ago is very different from the EA of today. Upper management shake-ups will do that. Who knows, post-Kotick, Activision may become amazing too. Doesn't mean there's a problem with hating them now.
  12. PSP

Hey, I preordered a DSi. We could start a support group. Seriously, I'm plenty happy with my first gen PSP. It's got a couple scratches on it now, but it still plays as good as when I got it, and I can always buy new memory sticks if I need them.
  13. Half-Minute Hero

Yeah, it's something that's making me happy I own a PSP. Psyched for the release of this one for sure.
  14. Scribblenauts

Enter "baby" into the notepad. It's simpler than you make it sound. If you're having difficulty, enter "nursemaid."
  15. Amazing last two races. Note to everyone: If James says he wants to go to the park with you, IT'S A FUCKING TRAP. Where the fuck were you, 'blix? That was a fantastic game today, mostly because of the final couple of runs. Doing a quadruple flip over a massive roadblock in a sportscar, landing on my wheels, and powering through the whole race to come within a few meters of first place was exhilarating. All this after spending the first two minutes of the race pinned under James' merciless stream of fire-engine-justice. Also, guest starring Bronstring Marek Bronstring. Pleasure to play with you, sir. Hope to see you again.
  16. Scribblenauts

Wings, pegasus, giant eagle, whatever. Remember, flying creatures can be ridden. Also, gyrocopter.
  17. How has Idle Thumbs affected your life?

Aside from freaking out when I had a chance to play Far Cry Instincts: Paradise Lost at an arcade, not much. I probably make even more obscure references, but I try to keep my thumbs stuff to when I'm talking to other thumbs. I guess laughing in public is a thing too, but it doesn't really bother me or stand out in my mind.
  18. Majesty 2

Well, your post at least got me to look at it on Steam. Doesn't look like my cup of tea, honestly. While I appreciate them, I don't have enough dedicated gaming time to sink into a game that slow paced. Still, it does look really interesting. Seems like the kind of game I'll love hearing about and talking with people about but will never actually get into myself.
  19. If you thought the Saitek Cyborg was crazy...

Agreed with Chris. Goddamn that's a pretty case. I'm always dealing with way too much heat in my small living arrangements too, so the open air design is incredibly appealing to me. The only reason I can think of for the price is "BMW," but otherwise I'd be snapping one up myself.
  20. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Honestly, I like "Home Movies" better as a show, but Brendan Small is undeniably a very funny guy. Haven't listened to any of his Dethklok albums though.
  21. So I'm not going to be around for a while...

Good to hear. Enjoy a speedy recovery, man.
  22. Chris, just listened to your newest song. Now I'm depressed. I was expecting a well-crafted and funny song. Not so funny, but still excellent. Might I suggest sending it to Kotick just for the hell of it?
  23. Recently completed video games

Man, Overkill is awesome. A friend of mine came down to visit from Edmonton a few weeks ago. We spent about 3 hours on the couch playing through the entire game on co-op, just because it happened to be sitting on the shelf. Such a great game for situations like that. Grab a case of beer, two gun shells for the wiimotes, and rock the whole game in a sitting. No list with Overkill on it is sad by any measure.
  24. Scribblenauts review up!

Actually, with the invisibility cloak on, I was able to sneak past some hostile guys. They likely did see the cloak, but didn't care enough to look into it.
  25. Scribblenauts review up!

I believe I cleaned up the park with a tornado, but I'm not positive.
