  1. I made it all right. Good game today, all. Except for the connection troubles at the end, anyway. The discovery that Illeria may as well be my neighbour compared to the rest of you was weird as well. Now I'm off to work.
  2. Sam & Max 2010

They never charge me any extra shit for customs unless a package is noticeably huge?
  3. Battlethumbs: Idle Company

Whoah whoah whoah. You mean to tell me that a developer game minimum requirement specs that are actually able to run the game well? What the hell has happened to the world?
  4. Wait, so we're starting at 3, not 1? I'm so damn confused. Why do countries have to do daylight savings on different schedules? Why did Canada switch to the US' stupid way last year instead of keeping it the same as the rest of the fucking world? WHY??? Fuck, I guess I'll do my homework and play some Brutal Legend. At least my shift starts an hour later than usual this week as well...
  5. Ah, but that's the problem! I usually boot up at 2! This means that this week I should boot up at 1, because the same hour that was 2 last week is 1 this week! Confusion! ...I'll be there at 1. As for Shakespeare, I'm not sure what time zone Fish Bridge World 2-3 is in so I'm unclear what a good time would be. What's your time zone, Actung?
  6. Bioshock 4 Pack

Hey. I got an email yesterday from a friend asking my group if any of us would be interested in going in on the Bioshock 2 preorder 4 pack. I think the deal runs out today, and right now we have 3 of us who are in. Anyone interested in filling the fourth slot? Worked out great for the Left 4 Dead 2 pack last year, so I figured I'd check around here. PM me if you're interested.
  7. Sam & Max 2010

Ahaha. I did the same thing. Love those Telltale guys.
  8. A thought occurs. Here in North America, we set our clocks an hour ahead on Sunday. Last time the clocks changed, we kept playing by the GMT clock. This going to continue again? (That is, should I turn on my Xbox at 1 o'clock instead of 2 tomorrow?)
  9. In and in. After last week's amazing game, I'm very psyched for this one. Can't wait. Also, goddamn you for that title. Why is it that EVERY DAMN TIME I talk to you, you get that song stuck in my head. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Fuck you, Patters.
  10. Mass Effect 2

Just mine enough to buy all the upgrades to the Normandy. You don't need to do much. And yeah, I'm still mixed on whether I like ME2 or 1 more. I think ME1 definitely gives the better atmosphere and "feels" much more like an amazing space adventure. ME2 is crazy refined, but everything feels much more contrived and less engaging. I really want ME3 to go back to the RPG and open aspects of 1. The lack of any real Citadel-ish space was a big negative. Though I can say that ME2 was probably the better game, I still think I actually liked ME1 more.
  11. Happy Birthday!

    Happy birthday!
  12. New people: Read this, say hi.

The first "Puffins!" was way earlier. Somwhere in the teens, I think. Started listening at the beginning while I was on vacation for something to do while driving. Now I've committed myself to go all the way through again. Just finished the expansion PAX.
  13. Sam & Max 2010

Preordered sight unseen. Going to check out the trailer now. Fuck yes, more Telltale! Also, I need to finish my replay of the earlier games. I got totally sidetracked by real life. I'm going to do a run tomorrow evening. It is resolved.
  14. Books, books, books...

I read Bova's Jupiter in high school but nothing else. I should look into that. Thanks for reminding me of him.
  15. Life

I just spent two weeks staying with my girlfriend at her uncle's house so that we could take care of his cat and his little scottie dog while he was in South America. Had a great time, and as a bonus, this whole experience has removed the anxiety that the girl was feeling about moving in together this summer. Plans had been tentative, but she kept bouncing back and forth on how she felt. Now she's fully in, and I'm very happy. OssK and Mike, that's rough. If I were at either of your locations, beer would be bought for you. As it is, nothing causes people to come to Calgary except a horrible rodeo, so online sympathies will have to do. I hope you got some thumb responses, OssK. Good luck having a kickass rest-of-GDC.
  16. Wizard News!! Final Fantasy XIV

Doesn't bother me at all. Final Fantasy doesn't have a "main series" as far as I can tell. There's just a lot of games with different stories and different play mechanics from different people that happen to have similar music and names which help them sell like crazy.
  17. Formula Thumb

I'll be a little late entering today, but should be around by quarter after. Keep those engines turning over.
  18. GTA LII: Steve McQueen's Greatest Role

Post fixed. Sorry for the disrespect, 'blix. I loved just throwing out a quick "naaah" as I blazed by 'blix and James in their firetruck shenanigans, ignoring cries for help. Felt like a truly GTA moment. Glad it left an impression.
  19. He did pick Dragon Age as his PC game of the year... (Surprise me!)
  20. GTA LII: Steve McQueen's Greatest Role

I still take immense pride in that game of Cops n' Crooks. My team (Thunderpeel and James, I think?) got themselves offed by Patters way early in fine style. I proceed to take out vengeance on Patters and then go catch up to the boat that Shakespeare was sitting in waiting to pick up toblix right as toblix arrived as well. I killed Shakespeare as toblix got into the boat and then followed up and took out 'blix as he shuffled into the driver's seat and attempted to get away. I actually jumped out of my chair and had to dance around a bit. Goddamn that was awesome. All other GTA moments don't count as rad. Also, the fact that I had time to drive from Times Square to the airport and back, then detonate a baggage carrier next to Patters to give him a scare during the course of a race only speaks further to how goddamned awesome our races are. Also, congratulations to James for finishing an entire race in reverse!
  21. Formula Thumb

No, I mean I am the opposite of a car person. I have a general conception of rally racing in my mind, but the term "livery" is new to me...
  22. iSteam

Yeah, I have two hard drives on my laptop, and install everything to my secondary. Steam installs all its games to whatever drive you install Steam to. I have my primary drive C and my secondary D. I installed Steam to C at first and filled it up way too fast as it is the smaller of the two. So I uninstalled it and put Steam on D instead. Now everything installs to D without issue. Steam will only use one drive, but it doesn't need to be your primary. Just make sure you install the client to whichever drive you intend to use. Worked for me. In fact, putting in my key from vanilla Half Life made Steam think I had the GOTY bundle and gave my account all the expansions too, even though I never owned them before.
  23. Ubisoft DRM

Yeah, when I said I play PC games at work without an internet connection, I meant that I do it in Steam. I set my client to offline mode before I leave the house, and all is well. You don't get achievements in offline mode, and your play doesn't count towards your steam rating, but everything else works just fine. If I take a ubisoft game to work though, I just don't get to play it.
  24. Heavy Rain

Turn your controller 45 degrees and hit square?
  25. Flotilla

Yeah, actually. In my tutorial fight of all things, I got waaaay too close to an exploding enemy and had half my health taken down by their debris hitting me. It happens. Haven't seen it since, but I've gotten better at doing things from a distance.
