    I know the game got good reviews. That's why I bought it myself (I didn't have a demo to try out). But I've played so many games just like it, and it really didn't have anything new to offer. In place of spells, you have super powers, and in place of slashing people with swords, you do it with your fists. Maybe Co-op but games like Baldur's gate (on the PS2/XBOX) have co-op in them.

    Even the presentation is very dated. The graphics look like something from the late 90's. You mentioned Far Cry vs Doom. In Far Cry, the graphics are breath taking, the AI is amazing, and you have vehicles. It even has stealth in it.

    I was just giving Freedom force as an example of a super-hero game that does it right. It is funny, witty, very original, and fun to play. Would you have loved the game if you were impartial to the X-Men and not as big of a fan?

    So Diablo 1 and 2 are crap games as well? Because they're pretty much the same thing. I kinda liked X-men Legends, if anything it was because the coop was kinda fun. I suppose I might have liked the game more than other people since being on a team of x-men was always kind of a dream game to me. Same thing with being able to play as spiderman and swinging around a city, but spiderman 2 got pretty old after a while.

    I knew someone was going to come out and say what about Diablo??? See unlike X-Men Legends, Diablo was fun to play, and the game was made 8 years ago. The world of Diablo was much more addictive than the one X-Men Legends came up with. If Diablo was released in this day and age, I'll doubt that it would have the impact it had back then. X-Men legends is a lame excuse of putting X-Men skins on any generic hack n slash game. Even the graphics are pathetic. And then of course there is the infamous co-op. If a game has co-op, it's instantaneous good fun with your buddy?? Uhhh no sorry. If you remove the skins, you end up with "Enter a generic hack n slash game in the blank".

    I mean can you compare God of war to X-Men legends? And they sell for the same price. You want a fun Comic book game? Pick up Freedom force and give it a try. That game is 10 dollars cheaper, and a gazillion times more fun.

    Except that isn't true. The latest Shrek game might suck as much as the first one, but why would the sequel to X-Men Legends be bad, when the original was a solid game? If anything, the second-generation version will be better.

    Are we talking about the same X-MEN Legends? That game sucks ass. I also payed 49.99 for it because of all the "Rave" reviews :frusty: Here's the game, you enter a screen, beat everything up or use a special force, move into the next one, beat everything up or use a special force, when your health goes down use a health flask, when the mana goes down use a mana flask, and then after a while you get points to spend on your characters. And then you do it, over and over and over and over... Sounds familiar? You want hack and slash, play god of war. That's a game worth every penny.

    Thank Microsoft's HD era, games are going to be more expensive in general in the next generation. They will be more expensive to make, and the cost will be brought down to us, the sheep. EA said that they couldn't produce enough of its $54.99 Madden special edition, and that it was an experiment to see if people are willing to pay more than 49.99 for a game they really like. If the sales of Half-life 2 and DOOM 3 are any indication, people are willing to pay 54.99 (me included) on a brand new spanking hot title.

    I just downloaded sanford and son 2, and it's not even a game. It plays the sanford and son theme song and repeats the same 3 screens over and over again about tasting wine or something....

    While monkeydang is tapping into your system and stealing all your credit card information. Could be a trojan you know.

    I didn't call anyone, it's a bit expensive to call from here to US. But I emailed both majesco and gamestop.

    Majesco hasn't said shit and so no answer from them.

    GameStop promised to send the missing disc, I hope they send it soon, except I may be required to send the extra disc back. In that case I hope they've arranged it somehow that I don't have to pay any costs for the thing...

    A guy at the Majesco forums suggested to call Majesco:

    Is that a free number to call to from anywhere around the world?

    1800 numbers are toll free numbers in the US, but I don't know about the rest of the world though. Why don't you ask someone here to call them for you.

    I'm not even sure what email address is the correct one at the Majesco website. I sent a message to their sales address. Anyways they haven't answered yet.

    And actually so haven't Gamestop, they promised to send me some details about this sending back thing.

    EDIT: I checked Majesco's own forums and there are many others who have this same two Disc 2's and a missing Disc 4 problem.

    Majesco has really screwed up the PC release of the game. From delayed shipments, to sending the wrong versions of discs, they really show immaturity in publishing a game. Is this the first PC game they publish?

    I watched that a couple days ago I think, and if I remember correctly the opening to it went something like this:

    Guy: Hey, could somebody tell us where we might find Tim Schafer, creator of such games as Grim Fandango and Full Throttle?

    Girl: I think he's right here with us in the studio, Zachary!

    Guy: Wow! Hi Tim!

    It nearly made me weep. But Tim is great. I might be thinking about a different interview he recently had?

    I think you are talking about the interview with the guy and the 2 girls. Yeah that show was retarded. This one is a show about hallmarks in gaming history, and there are no hosts, just Tim talking. Like a documentary about Tim :)

    It's the best show I have seen on G4. It goes from double fine's crunch time development of psychonauts where you see where tim works and meet all his employees, to all the games he worked on. The show is usually half an hour long, but for Tim, they made it one hour. And netmonkey, the whole show was a big tribute for Tim and his greatness. I really hope someone has taped it :yep:

    Oh yeah, Ninja Gaiden. Is that actually a good game? I played the demo and honestly didn't think it was that great. Also where did this whole obsession with ninjas come from all of a sudden? When did people on the internet suddenly start wetting themselves over goddamn ninjas? Is it a Japanese thing? And then with Ninja Gaiden it's like video game + ninjas = WHOA FUCKING AWESOME!!! Argh. The same thing with pirates actually. What's going on?

    From the 15 minutes or so that I played the game, I really didn't think it was that great either. I think it's a mix between prince of persia moves (wall walking, wall climbing, swinging on poles) and intense action. Now if I can get past the first boss, I can have a better idea of how well the game plays, but this game is for the extreme hardcore and I am but a :oldman:

    I just rented Ninja Gaiden, trying to kill time till I get Psychonauts. I can't even get past the first boss. My god this game is difficult. How do you kill the damn boss with the Nunchaks.

    Unless someone has posted something stating otherwise, EB doesn't have it. I went by mine today asking and they got a full shipment of games in, but no Psychonauts. I even made sure I asked one of the few remaining cool guys still working there. No luck.

    Hey JoeX111, I just got an email from EBGames saying that they shipped Psychonauts for the PC :clap::woohoo: You should be getting anytime soon.

    So it's actually a little better than AGP?

    PCI Express is faster than AGP and it's the newer technology. Just like now, PCI graphics cards are pretty much obsolete, in a few years, AGP will be most probably obsolete. And then it will be a pain in the ass to upgrade your graphics card, because you'll need a new motherboard. Get the PCI Express :)

    Okay for those who didn't play Warrior Within (and I find that hard to believe) here is the deal on this Kaileena nonsense. This spoils the entire game, but really, do you care?

    There is also some random shit in there with a Dark Prince who broods and dies and kills things, but again, do you care?

    Hold on let me get this straight... The prince in warrior within is not dark enough, so now you have an even darker prince to play??????? :nuts:

    Well I think Majesco did a wonderful job of marketting the game. You saw it in tons of magazine before it was released, and then you had a commercial for it on Howard Stern (a radio talk show here in America with 7+ million listeners mostly in the 18-40 age group), and Tim was on Gamespot's On the spot, and even more mainstream on G4tv. And I've seen its commercial on MTV a few times. That's great marketting, and Majesco was a wonderful find for Double Fine. EA killed Oddworld Stranger's wrath because they didn't market it well.

    Really? I LOVED walking in L.A. late at night, nothing ever happened to me. I used to walk around in my neighbourhood at 2am, and I lived just off of Hollywood & Vine, near Mann's Chinese Theater and the Walk of Fame.

    That's the nice part of LA isn't it? I was mugged close to USC (downtown). The guy stuck a gun in my back and said that my wallet was his. I just gave it to him. I didn't have much money on me thank god, but I had to go through the trouble of changing all my credit cards afterwards.
