I was hoping that by a stroke of godly intervention, they would change the plot somehow that the prince goes back in the past (he can travel back in time you know) to meet his nice sweet young self and tell him: "I am you in the future, and you are going to grow up to be this angry asshole, who's into heavy metal and goth. You will have blood for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please get married to Farah and run away as far as possible to a remote island where no one can reach you". And then you get to play the young prince on the mystic island where a new fresh plot unfolds. But alas...

I'm just curious if a lot of people bought it because they bought and loved the first one. It is true that the first POP did not sell well at the very beginning but then they bundled it with splinter cell, and the sales for the game reached 2 million copies or more. Could it be that a lot of those people who got it free with splinter cell really enjoyed the first game so they bought the sequel? I mean although it is dark and gritty and gory and hard rock, it's hard to believe that sales will jump so high just by changing the atmosphere.

And the hate threads in the UBI forums? There were tons of people expressing their disappointment there, but all the modurators did was cancel their accounts. Ubi$oft sucks ass...

It's not only the CPU. That's only a small part of it. These days it's mainly the graphics card. The NVIDIA 6800 GT for example plugs into the power supply and produces tons of heat. And to be able to support all these high end components, you need like a 450 watt power supply. So my rig has 4 fans and I don't even need to open the case. It can run for hours. If your PC heats up, just add more fans to it

Who needs fans. The highest end Alienware is cooled by .... water

PC version = 20 dollars cheaper = more money going to other gaming needs like "Jade Empire" Since double fine is doing the PC version, I have full faith on the outcome. I'm just not that excited about the PS2 version though.

Me personally I like on the spot. You only appreciate on the spot when you get to watch the G4TV crap. Compared to that, On the spot is an emmy winner. And they have some very decent interviews with a lot of interesting developers. They had Tim over twice, and a few weeks back, they went to Edmenton and had a chat with the Bioware folks. Good stuff! I just wished they wouldn't say "That's crazy!" and "That's awesome" every 2 seconds. But still, when it comes to game shows, I think it is my favorite.

Yup that's right. Play magazine gave psychonauts its first "extensive" review with a score of 9.0 and lots of praise . They have a very nice extensive review about 5 pages long, and Psychonauts on the cover. You guys should check it out.

But Microsoft did say in GDC that you will be able to play HALO 2 on XBOX live against your freinds. I assume that to play Halo 2 on XBOX live against your friends, the console needs to be backward compatible. Plus I find it highly unlikely that a company as Microsoft which has all the resources in the universe will release a console that is not backward compatible knowing very well that both of their competitors will support older versions.

I thought Insomniac said they were done with doing Ratchet and Clank games. I wish the whole world was Tim Schafers "If I did a sequel to Day of the tentacle, there wouldn't be a Full Throttle, and if I did a sequel to Full Throttle, there wouldn't be a Grim Fandango, and if I did a sequel for Grim, there wouldn't be Psychonauts." I am a big fan of Ratchet and Clank (and to a lesser degree Jak) but the premise of a squad based combat game featuring ratchet, and a driving game featuring Jak don't appeal to me at all.

They are pretty much the same on both platforms. Play completely identically. The mouse keyboard controls are very intuitive and so is the controller on the XBOX. Duncan, I would have really waited 6 more months rather than buy an XBOX right now. XBOX 2 is backward compatible, and in 6 months, your XBOX will be worth about 10 dollars.

What do weird American laws have to do with this? When you buy a Playstation 2 in a retail box, it comes automatically with a controller, so the 300 dollars or 150 dollars you shed on it include the price of the controller.

What do you guys think of this game? Anyone excited about it? It's getting stunning reviews (IGN 98, Gamespot 93). And it looks stunning for a PS2 game, although the gore and sexual content( Yeah actually you see the main character having sex) is over the top. Thoughts?

It's irrational games. It has to be good

I'm playing this game and it kicks major ass. This franchise to me is one of my all time favorites. If you have any slight interest in comic books, this game will own you. And the Freedom force characters are as good if not better than their Marvel or DC counterparts.

I was referring to the franchise rather than the genre. The actual platformers are top-notch. But now there is a Mario everything (Marrio Tennis, golf, karting, pinball, etc..) and Nintendo seems to want to add the name Mario before every game it creates.

Well if you look at some other franchises, they seem to keep going on. Mario anybody? And then there is Mortal Kombat. It had it quadrilogy as a fighter, then it went into action-adventure slump then it's 2 new fighter games and now again into action-adventures. And now midway has promised us a mortal kombat every year. I really really hope that UBI montreal will scrap everything from the second prince of persia game and start from scratch on this third installment. But I also hope that pink elephants can fly.

I'd like to see a Raz star there. That's what I wanna see.
