  1. Random Psychonauts Tidbits (possible spoilers)

Sorry folks if this has been mentioned before. What happened when you got every single figment, brain, psi-card, treasure hunt item etc... What is the bonus?
  2. Psychonauts Nominated for Crappy Award Show

Well I went to two Fry's here (Fry's is a HUGE electronics store). They have a whole shelf of XBOX games, every game you can think of. THERE WAS NO PSYCHONAUTS. I went to the PC section. They have PC games that are 5 years old, they even have those hard to find adventure games. NO PSYCHONAUTS. Same thing goes for the EBGames in the mall. So no, it's not only your best buy. Majesco marketting sucks major ass.
  3. Xbox 360 & PS3 feature poor processing power?

Yeah I agree. The PC hardware last gen was underutilized and this gen will not be any better, because honestly PC games just don't sell as much. At least the consoles themselves are more powerful this time around, so we won't get a PS2 looking port on the PC.
  4. Psychonauts Nominated for Crappy Award Show

Where did you see that Psychonauts is selling well enough?
  5. Xbox 360 & PS3 feature poor processing power?

The high end PC's of today are as powerful as the PS3. Granted they are waaay too expensive, but an SLI setup with 2 NVIDIA 7800's might even surpass the RSX chip of the PS3. Also the AMD Fx series now has dual core processors that will be common in a year or so. One major hardware advantage that the PC have is the PPU, something that is lacking from all consoles. If the next gen is all about the physics like they are claiming it to be, than the PC edges consoles by a big margin, seeing how it has a dedicated chip just for that, whereas the consoles have to delegate that job to the CPU. At the end of the day it's like every new generation, the consoles rival PC technology at the beggining of their life cycles, but they fall behind within a few years.
  6. BUY games? what are you, stupid?

I don't understand. Why don't people in the US at least rent video games? You don't go watching every movie in the theatre now do you? So why not also rent the mediocre video games that you would never buy. Renting is fairly cheap and it ranges between 15-20 dollars a month for unlimited rentals, AND IT IS LEGAL. I usually only buy games that I like, and except for a few exceptions, they always end up good. I think the only game I felt really ripped off was DOOM 3 and POP: The bad one (I bought that one solely for its predecessor's legacy) I bought that piece of crap for 55 bucks and I am yet to finish it. Also whoever says that games are 50 bucks is BS'ing. If you wait a few months, games go down half in price. How old is GTA:SA on the PS2? like 8 months? I sold it on ebay for 18 bucks, that's it. And this question is to everyone defending piracy for the sole reason that they wouldn't buy the game regardless. Let's say you burnt Beyond good and evil, and you expected it to be a piece of turd, but then you fell in love with it. Do you go back and buy it? How many times did you just say, "well I already have the game, maybe some other time".
  7. San Andreas (PC)

    Logitech my friend
  8. San Andreas (PC)

To enter a car you need to press the 4th joypad button the equivalent of the PS2 controller's Triangle button. You can remap all the buttons in the control configuration of the game. As far as the D-PAd goes, it doesn't work properly (it is treated as the left thumbstick). I am not sure if you need the D-PAD but if you do, you can always map a D-PAD button to a keyboard button (using the software that comes with the logitech gamepad). Then that D-PAD button will function as if you pressed the keyboard button if you were playing it with a mouse and keyboard.
  9. San Andreas (PC)

It takes 2 batteries, but supposedly it should last long. I just bought it, so not sure of the duration.
  10. San Andreas (PC)

By the way, just to let you guys know, a PC to PS2 controller does not work well in San Andreas. link There are 2 problems. first it does not recognize the right thumb stick unless you edit the registry (and I haven't tried it but the people in the link I suggested said it worked). Second, it does not recognize the D-pad and treats it like the left thumb stick. I had to buy a logitech cordless rumblepad Logitech and it works like a charm. It is by far, one of the best controllers I've layed my hands on. I have the utmost respect for Logitech.
  11. San Andreas (PC)

Damn thing did not recognize the right analog thumb stick on the thrustmaster gamepad. Anyone else had this problem or everyone is playing it using a mouse and keyboard? I might just end up doing that. Also is it just me or does the mouse seem way too sensitive?
  12. San Andreas (PC)

I have always loved GTA. My only complaint, which they don't seem to get after 5 versions of the game is the fact that you end up in a hospital after a mission is failed, and you have to drive all the way back to the mission. It gets old after repeating it 5 or 6 times. I wish you can just restart the mission from the point where you last died.
  13. Favorite Psychonauts level

My favorite level is Lungfishopolis. The mixture of Godzilla style destroy everything, the rebels, and the CNN-like broadcasting was hillarious I also loved the design of Gloria's head. All the level takes place in one room, but change a script and flip the switch, and it feels like you have entered a new room. It is pretty amazing how it stays fresh. The most fun is Milla's dance party. Floating around, and jumping on the ball is really fun. My 2 least favorite are the Meat circus followed by the brain tumbler. Both weren't funny at all, and the MC was frustrating like hell.
  14. San Andreas (PC)

Did you ever try the PS2 version? That thing takes a while to load
  15. XBOX 360 backward compatibility

Here " Microsoft's company management has recently stated that the Xbox 360 would be backwards compatible with "most top-selling Xbox games." They also stated that Microsoft would support the Xbox well into 2006. However, since the current Xbox uses an Nvidia chipset as a graphics processor, as opposed to the new ATI chipset, some have expressed concerns about the backwards compatibility of the Xbox 360. Recently, Microsoft has explained and clarified the current situation. Microsoft has actually agreed to pay Nvidia a small royalty in order to allow the ATI chipset on the Xbox 360 to emulate the Nvidia chipset's performance in reading certain Xbox games. The term 'certain' is used because currently only single-layered games will be emulated well with this hardware. For multi-layered games, there requires a further emulation in the form of 'patches' that Microsoft intends to include with the hard drive packaged along with the Xbox 360. One can assume that most Xbox games will be playable by the Xbox 360 in this way, but not all. However, Microsoft has promised that further patches will be added in case customer demand warrants the action." Pretty good news. But what are single-layered vs multi-layered games, and how many multi-layered games are out there? Anyone knows?
  16. All this long rant is spam EDIT: I know of this pretty cheerleader called the Nintendo DS who is much more fun to hang out with. Nintendo DS likes being tickled. And she is slick and slim. She even has a weird sense of humor. Cheerleader or the gizmondo nerd with glasses???
  17. Pizza Tycoon DS should exist

There is a Sim City for the GBA, and since you can play your GBA games on the DS, there you go
  18. San Andreas (PC)

Thrustmaster 2 in 1 It works on both my PS2 and PC. I've played POP the ugly one and Psychonauts with it, and it ran fine.
  19. San Andreas (PC)

It should be. According to the reviewer, you can play it with a gamepad or mouse/keyboard.
  20. San Andreas (PC)

I bought the PS2 version at the end of last year, but I am yet to play it. The resolution was so low that I couldn't see what those tiny markers on the map were. I have my PS2 version listed on EBAY if anyone is interested I'll be getting the PC one though.
  21. Most Important Game Ever Made

The list looks pretty decent. It has the major forefathers of most of the genres today. One game I would add to the list is Dune 2, the father of all Real time strategy games. as far as Golden age, I would think it was 1998. 2004 was a pretty good year too, albeit one more packed with sequels than original content.
  22. Most Important Game Ever Made

Good find http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultima_Underworld " id Software programmer John Carmack has himself said that the engine used for Wolfenstein 3D was inspired by a technology demo of the first Ultima Underworld game."
  23. How many of you will make a 2 headed baby in Spore?

I'm going to make a race of Mr T's.
  24. Most Important Game Ever Made

Doom. Multi-player??? First Person shooter??? Almost half of the games at E3 this year where first person shooters and without Doom (or wolf 3D), there might not be an FPS. Think about it, Halo for the XBOX arguably sold the system, so no DOOM -> No Halo -> XBOX does not sell as much.
  25. Advent Rising Sucks

So basically, besides Psychonauts, it is safe to say that every other Majesco game released has sucked.
