I'm sorry if this was mentioned be4. I read today in gameinformer that Take 2 got exclusive third party rights to the MLB franchise and its players. What does that mean? It means that Take 2 is the only third party that can use the player names etc.. in their games, but first party companies like Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony can still use them. This is a direct blow to EA who with Sega are the main third party titles. TAKE THAT EA!!!!!!!

I already preordered this one. Looks really good

Hold on guys? Doesn't it have an on/off switch?????? My fat PS2 does, it's in the back of the console, and it has a standby button and eject button in the front. The slim one doesn't have that?
-
I play my PS2 sometimes 8 hours non-stop. Not a single glitch. I have the fat one though. Maybe it;s just defective. Or maybe General Fuzzy McBitty, you got very big fingers??????

What do you guys think of this one? Majesco, looking good
-
Yeah that was 3 years ago. Till they dropped the bomb on all their awesome titles like Oddworld (Got a mighty review), Tork, and Psychonauts. Way to go MS
-
Oh yeah I heard that... They also use english names like "Hey I'm James". Ummmmm no you're not, I can't understand a friggin word you are saying. Outsourcing didn't work for dell so I think they moved their tech support back to the US coz of the language barrier.

Chris I totally understand your frustration, and you are totally right. Having something with a lot of moving parts can be more susceptible (sp?) to error than a known set of hardware. I'm sorry that among all people your PC broke. It really puts a different perspective on things when you are experiencing the problem. For me for example, I've had PC's since I was 10 years old (I'm 28 now) and swear to god, never had a glitch Sometimes we just get unlucky with our purchases (I mean it is human made after all). The reason why I personally like the PC, is from a nostalgic standpoint, I've grown up playing PC games. Also from a technological standpoint, I know that it is superior than console games. And my biggest reason is supporting diversity, small studios and developers who can't afford shedding millions to MS and Sony for rights to publish their games. I mean just take Psychonauts. MS dropped the bomb on it, and if it wasn't for pure luck that a new publisher was rising, we wouldn't be able to play it. And with all that, buying an XBOX version is paying MS back some money on a game they didn't believe in, in the first place. Oh well I think I'm really But I really hope you get your PC fixed. Best of luck

Hmmm that's interesting. Did you try to reinstall windows? Sometimes just formatting the hard drive might fix the problem since it's a software one. I've had a case or 2 like that where if I format and reinstall windows fresh it works. But then you'll lose your saved games and files that you store there Oh well I'm sorry you had a problem with your PC. I know how frustrating it is to have these kinds of problems. I just bought a Samsung DLP TV 4 months ago, it broke down, and it's been 4 f****n month and good guys haven't fixed it. The idiots have no f****n clue how, they've changed every piece of the damn thing and it still is broken. I have heard from other people that the TV is great. Oh and I've heard a ton of people say their PS2 or XBOX don't read CD's after 6 or 8 months. I can point you to the forums Shit happens

Well we are diverting a lot off the main topic but here is what you can do to find out what's running. Go to start-->Run and type regedit in the dialog box That opens the windows registry editor. Now go to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Under this key are all the programs that launch at startup. Some might be programs that you can live without so you can uninstall them. Also some might be spyware. Uninstall any you don't like, and remove the keys of anything that you don't really care for running all the time (like mp3 player for example). Since you are f***ng up with the registry, I suggest you ask a friend in the computer business to help out Take a backup of any registry key be4 you delete it.

All I meant is that companies should test the shit out of the system be4 selling it to the poor consumer. PC's are pretty reliable and I have put together some PC's with really different parts be4. As far as standards go I agree, but we are still 1000 times better now than back in the 90's. God it was a nightmare playing a game back then on DOS. At least windows xp is plug and play with most hardware manufacturers adhering to that. As far as your problem, I have actually only heard good things about alienware. I'm really surprised that you had that problem with them. Funny thing, even Psychonauts website recommends the game running on Alienware From Psychonauts website:

Hmmm do you have Mcaffee shield? that thing hogs a lot of memory so I suggest you disable it on your gaming PC when you play games. Also you can edit a lot of these apps not to run at startup, if they don't need to. I can show you how if you're interested. Another thing, spyware could be a big problem as to why you have a lot of memory wasted. Use something like pestpatrol to scan your system and eliminate spyware. Also if you use the computer to hook up to the internet, MAKE SURE you have a firewall. Also always browse the internet as a limited user. There is no reason anyone should connect to the internet as an administrator.

Thanks baconian, good to hear that DF is working on the PC version too. I have full confidence that they will do a great job, coz remember, a lot of these folks come from a PC background
-
There There It's not PC's fault if you get a crappy one, it's the fault of the idiotic company that sold it to you. Where did you buy your PC from? I have never had a single problem with the gazillion PC's that I owned be4.
-
I'm just wondering do you think the PC version will be different than the XBOX/PS2 game? I remember Spiderman 2 which was for 29.99 on the PC and it was a stinker compared to the 49.99 superior XBOX/PS2 version. I dunno 29.99 just sounds very cheap for a PC game.

It's okay, Tim S can have spelling errors, as long as he keeps making games

I actually have an answer for you guys from the master himself Here is what TS replied to me when I asked him about the controls: "First thing, there is only one f in Schafer! Second thing, the PC version of Psychonauts will support both a controller, and a fully-configurable keyboard + mouse interface. So you can't loose! Glad you're excited about it! -Info Cow" So guys, let's just freak out till April mmmmkay ?

EA Already has plans for the next gen consoles: http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/microsoft-xbox/582319p1.html "Games mentioned include Burnout 4, and Black developed by Criterion and from Digital Illusions, Battlefield: Modern Combat. Sports titles FIFA 2006, FIFA Street 2, SSX 4 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 are all due out for the next-gen system as well as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the next 007 game, James Bond: From Russia With Love." Anyone agrees with me how all these titles reek with originality??
-
You know one way of not supporting EA is buying it used. That way, the money for the game only goes to EA once (whoever bought it originally) and you get it cheaper.
-
I actually first saw BG&E when I installed the Sand of Time.. It was in the installation screens, and I wasn't impressed at all. I only bought the game, after hearing about it in the forums, and reading game magazine reviews. But games like Ratchet and clank or Jak, I got sick of seeing ads for them on national TV. So I do think ubisoft did a crappy job in selling this game as its "franchise" platformer like Sony does.

Jade is a slut? Oh my god... Then what does that make of the POP cast?
-
You guys aren't that bad either. Ron Gilbert is the most interesting character to develop video games.
-
Ratchet and clank. What type of games you like by the way?
-
I really didn't have this problem playing Vice City on a PC. Man you don't appreciate the PC version till you try something else
