well I guess he/ she is trying to make sense!?

but it's reassuring to know that we are afraid of it!wtf

i either hate that person and/or don't know what the fuck it's talking about!

Yeah, I love the way this "swaying" move he does in Bill 'n Ted is essentially in any movie he does... I think there was an Episode of Mad TV where they used it all the time (even tho I think Mad TV sucks ass). Even the famous sequence from the Matrix where Neo gets bullettime for the first time is pretty much like that! disturbing but inevitably true

I used to live in Munich (so, near the Alpes?) and 20-30cm is nothing! talk about 2m within one day! And my old 1989 VW van will start in any weather...given that the battery is still there...

yeah well, my point is, that relying on nobody's name makes it really tiresome work to find a good movie to watch and that in my opinion relying on director's is not that much better than relying on actor's and to believe one is NOT part of the general public and part of the "all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world" is lying to oneself.

See, it's stuff like that, that makes me down-right sad...

I think RP is impossible with keyboard imput the other problem being that a lot of people don't know how to do it, no offense. But I like the fact that people at least try and you don't get that much / if any l33t 5p34k! In general I find people annoying who powerplay through an MMORPG just to be the first to hit level 100 or whatever. What's the point of doing that! Also I find Newbies annoying who run around asking people for money (only happened in DAoC to me tho). As far as the guy in Illinois is concerned, he probably gave you the address of this kid he regularly beats up in school. But the whole disrespect thing IS annoying, I think there actually should be age category servers... that would make things sooo much nicer!

Yeah... a long time ago when they started out (talking 1992 for christ's sake) German Console Magazine MAN!AC used to have stuff about those too and animés as well. But as time wore on they got more and more mainstream and leaft all of that original "differentiation" stuff behind... I finally stopped reading that magazine in 2002... ten long years...but in the end they just sucked ass!

I tried Games™, cuz I was like "wait this is way bigger than edge and the design looks great too... so maybe it is better..." boy was I wrong, it's just totally convoluted crap... That proves the Americans are wrong! Bigger is not Better!

Games no one knows (but are awesome or at least pretty good)
lailoken replied to Marek's topic in Video Gaming
As was already mentioned in this forum, Outcast is pretty much one of the greatest games ever! But a LOT of people never heard about it! I loved exploring and the seamlessness of action to stealth to adventure to interaction... awesome game -
So in what way is trusting into a writer/director better than trusting in an actor? Ok writers/directors have more creative control I grant you that... but still, it's no guarantee. As far as the "cock-sucking" is concerned, I am afraid that it just doesn't do for me, what it apparently does for you. So I would have to pass on that one, but thanks, how thoughtfull!

Don't know who Lewis Black is... But George Carlin IMHO is too old... I always figured him a young guy, like late twenties to mid thirties... thinking about it... I think Bill Pullman as he was in "The Zero Effect" would be nice... but he's not british... gnarlmanupsy

I still enjoy EDGE magazine. I hear everybody complaining how it used to be so much better, but I only discovered it recently and to me it's everything a gaming mag should be. It actually takes gamers seriously without being a total geekfest... dunno... they could have more inside stories though...

So now the script is the actor's fault? Interesting... I really liked the trailer and I like Reeves in anything where he doesn't have to portray a character with any depth at all. Like the matrix for example (does the main character even have a family? who cares!) And obviously names draw and whoever thinks he's exempt from that is either lying or uses filesharing software and therefor does not have to pay for the "privilege" to watch something. EDIT: Or possibly has way too much time on his hands so he/she can do the research required to find good movies without big names. EDIT: oh and it's called type-casting...

actually I like the fact that Ford is SO not what I would have expected... don't know, somehow Mos'Def does make sense to me in that part. I absolutely love Sam Rockwell as Zaphod, because I realized that the first time I saw him in Galaxy Quest I subconciously thought that he WAS Zaphod... it's weird but I think he's the right one... remains to be seen obviously. But in general I think it is obvious that this is going to be something totally different from the book and the first thing to do is to accept that. Adams had been trying to make a cinematic movie out of the material for more than ten years and the fact that he didn't live to see this baby take flight is nothing short of tragic. On another note, I would love to see the Dirk Gently books made into a movie! Who could play Dirk?

Well if you choose to think I'm stupid, that's your call, honestly I could possibly care less for some fucks opinion. fact is to me that almost all RTS only acquire some level of difficulty by having you optimize your building strategy and THAT'S it. To me there still has to be a single RTS where the AI doesn't suck. Also I find them repeatitive and not challenging in a creative way, since usually one strategy works for all... and yeah, there are those "great" scripted missions, but all those do is make you memorize the whole sequence. In general I already do too much thinking in RL, I don't see why I have to do it in a game, where I just want to enjoy myself.

I totally hate the whole Need for Speed series (i did like the first underground one... but i was bored at the time...) I also hate games that make me think too much and make up stupid rules you have to learn and that make no sense... so what I am saying is ... I HATE REAL TIME STRATEGY... GOD C&C and all that CRAP! Oh and as far as Gran Tourismo is concerned... I think you have to like driving to like the games... as I love to drive any car at any time...

Honestly, I can't imagine myself spending any money on a game that is more than 5 years old! Sometimes I do like to have a look at some of the old stuff, but those would be games I already own and cherish....

Trip Hawkins:EA Founder prediction - Nintendo will be acquired by MS
lailoken replied to SoccerDude28's topic in Video Gaming
microsoft is not pushing their new platform because they want to make it easier for independents to get in, they do THAT to create a "windows" licensing scheme. thinking what worked for them in the past is going to work for them in the future. And Sony Electronics is making more than 60percent of its revenue in the computer entertainment business, so for them it's THE major market. It was Sony with the playstation that created this new beautifull (to be honest I hate it) new world of mass market mature audience videogaming, so I think they deserve everything they get. I AM however willing to grant that Microsoft is opening up online play with Xbox Live but apart from that... I AM NOT GOING TO BUY A FUCKED UP PC IN A SHOEBOX JUST TO MAKE BILLY BOY HAPPY!!! What the Fuck do I need XBOX for? "Advertisements have them chasing cars and clothes, working jobs they hate so they can buy shit they don't need." sound familiar... anyone? -

NO for Microsoft it's only another feather in their cap! (or something) I think for their own good they must be stopped. How on god's earth do you expect me to play console games without all three of them? -

lailoken replied to SoccerDude28's topic in Video Gaming
I REALLY don't know if anything is going to change about Microsofts MO in the next generation. And who could blame them! They got the money and they do everything they can to buy their way into the console market. IMHO Microsoft remains the "Evil Empire" and everything needs to be done to stop them! Sony is my best bet but it would be nice to see Nintendo do another Super NES (-Famicom). Obviously their biggest concern for their format since the Nintendo64 has been to counteract piracy and it hasn't payed off at all... wonder what's going to be next... -

yeah! you know, I might just buy one! I mean in the next generation... just to spite that ASSHOLE Trip Hawkins trying to be important by predicting the extinction of the house of miyamoto-sama or whatever! FUCK! -
They've gone too far this time... (The Apocalypse is Nigh?)
lailoken replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Idle Banter
anybody thought of the rather remote possibility that all this is intended as a satire? EDIT: The new Bugs Shit I mean... oh and why are we talking about this... don't we have a life...or an adequate mmorpg as a placebo?!!
