  1. What does everyone think about....

Basically the problem would be that there would be people play GTA for various things. Some play so they can have fun driving, some play for the story, some play for the ability to maim and destroy. Pleasing everyone would be a nightmare.
  2. What does everyone think about....

Imagine you just worked your ass off on your crack free basing skill. Imagine you finally got enough money to buy yourself a shiney AK-47. Imagine leaving the black market with said AK in tow. Imagine 6 guys yelling "I AM THE ROXXOR!" as they run you down with Taxi Cabs as you leave the gun shop. Now imagine this happening every time you went any where in the world. Honestly, I think the GTA series is good, but that it would need a lot of tinkering before it was ready to be a MMRPG.
  3. Quest for Glory

Anyone else remember this lovely series? I just thought I'd pass along word that the lovely people at AGD Interactive are making a VGA remake of Quest For Glory 2: Trial By Fire. This was a wonderful game. I hope they still let thieves use the "pick nose" joke.
  4. Quest for Glory

That was the great part of QG... you could combine the classes. I started as a fighter with lockpicking and magic. Since you can add new skills in every game I eventually got most of the skills. It is possible to be both Paladin and the thieves guild boss in the last game.
  5. Half Life 2 First Impressions

I downloaded cs_Assault_ren, and the whole map was like that.
  6. Half Life 2 First Impressions

Here's a question: All the maps for HL2 show up fine, as do most CS maps, but occasionally a non-official cs map will come up as purple and black squares. Why?
  7. Preorders = Bad? You decide!

YES! EVERYONE! Erhm.... How did I get here?....
  8. Online "roleplaying" and the continual dying...

But then you run into the trouble of whether age is fetermined by real time or time spent in the game.
  9. Online "roleplaying" and the continual dying...

I used to play UO, and the Ghost thing can work quite well. If you're not playing in a group and you die, you have to track down a healer, which can take some doing if you're in the middle of no where. It's harder to get around as a ghost as well, since you can't use magic, horses or boats.
  10. Half-Life 2 deathmatch has landed

Very true. I suppose if I had never played the original, I wouldn't know anything was missing. It would seem more complete. As it stands I think it needs more skins and some new levels, and some tweaking. I also think it's time for a few new guns. This however, is another matter all together.
  11. Preorders = Bad? You decide!

Ask to see a manager. If they are a manager, ask how you contact the owner or the district manager. If that fails either make a giant scene (works best if there are alot of people there) or tell them you'll be calling the BBB (if you're American) about their questionable sales ability.
  12. TIME's Top 10 Video Games of 2004

It's difficult to have a TOP TEN GAMES OF THIS YEAR! I couldn't go about comparing HL2 and The Sims 2, so where they fall on the grid doesn't matter.
  13. Half-Life 2 deathmatch has landed

Do I have to put my name on the board? (that was a joke. I'm not being a sarcastic jerk, please don't ban me ) I'm sorry. I had a point, but I never got to it. I'll do that now. This is my reasoning for believing that CS:S should be better than it is. I'm not sure if this is defensive or not, so if someone could please give me an opinion before I get banned I'd appreciate it. I like it here. CS:S is indeed a retail product. This is because if I flip the box that HL2 comes in over it says Also Includes: Counter Strike SOURCE The next installment of the world's #1 online action game! If CS:S is not to be considered part of the product, then they're sure marketing it as an amazing secondary reason to buy this game. By saying that it's the "next installment" it makes the game sound complete AND it makes the game sound DIFFERENT from the original. I would argue that since the only levels that are included with CS:S are graphically altered, but still generally almost the exact same levels as the original CS (only there are fewer of them) CS:S is incomplete. If you're going to try to make something "THE NEXT INSTALLMENT!!1 R0xx0R" you make some new levels. (Fans would have made a billion copies of the original CS levels anyhow.) If you're going to go the "easy route" and use only levels that were pre-mapped and designed and tested, you should at least include all of the mainstays that came with the last version of CS. As I see it, they've used CS as a milk cow. Even when CS was still available for free on the Internet they started selling it in stores. (Whenever I saw someone in a store looking at it, I'd tell them they should save their money.) Then they release CZ, then CS:S. I have no experience with CZ, but CS:S seems more like a graphical update than a "Next installment." People say to wait, because it'll be better and be updated. I accept this, and will wait, but at the same time I believe that I shouldn't have to, because I believe it (as said before) to be a part of a retail product. I wouldn't buy half of a movie. I wouldn't buy half of a car. I wouldn't buy half of Counterstrike. Besides, there must be someone somewhere who is going to buy the game just to play CS:S and not the single player. If the game (CS) is a beta, as a few people have told me, the box should indicate this. Note: spell checked for you enjoyment. Edit: Obviously this is the only way that Source should be looked at, you Welsh Wanker!
  14. Half-Life 2 deathmatch has landed

Just as you have the right to your opinion I have the right to mine. When I bought HL1 I expected the contained multi-play version to be complete... and it was. How is this any different? As I said, you have the right to think that my opinion is wrong. Telling me I'm whining is another matter all together. I'm allowed to think what I want. Opinions are like ass holes. Everyone has one, and they usually stink.
  15. Half-Life 2 deathmatch has landed

I'm just a little irritated that CS:S seems rather unfinished (to me) given that it's retail now.
  16. Half-Life 2 deathmatch has landed

it's complete laggy chaos! They threw it together to placate reviews that said "it would be better if it had HL2 multi player."
  17. Half-Life 2 deathmatch has landed

    Hl2 Dm sucks.
  18. Half-Life 2 deathmatch has landed

I think a cool mod would be to do a counterstrike style system but with all cts with rifles vs. 1 or 2 terrorists who have grav cannons. Given enough large shit to throw it'd be hard. No sniper rifles though!
  19. The Giveaway 2: The Singles.

See above statement. Read #3 twice.
  20. The Giveaway 2: The Singles.

1.) I have poetic license. 2.) My english degree didn't cover spelling and grammar. 3.)(stealing a page from someone elses book) Fuck you.
  21. Star Wars: KOTOR II The Sith Lords GOLD!!

I thought bioware made Baldurs gate... im confused.
  22. Half Life 2 First Impressions

  23. The Giveaway 2: The Singles.

"Hey baby, wanna play army? I'll lay down and you can blow the hell out of me."
  24. Star Wars: KOTOR II The Sith Lords GOLD!!

Yeah. BI is fine. Fallout was awesome. I never played Planetscape. I hope Bioware gets BG3 though. And it's not as shitty as Neverwinter, which IMO got rid of the tactical fun that most bioware products had.
  25. Viva la Revolution!

Um.... not to point out how incredibly un-hip I am.... but who in the flying fuck is Che?
