  1. Flashback Origins

I hope it's just an HD remake, sequels to "retro" games that haven't had a game in ages tend to have "retro-hardcore-goggles"... Expect at least one bullet hell boss. :| They could just add a bullet hell boss even if it is just an HD remake...
  2. Now, now, you know we can't burn him without having him going through... THE THREE TRIALS!
  3. You do know that Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion are older adventure game and can be beaten in only a few hours, right? You can beat Maniac Mansion in less than a hour if you know what you are doing!
  4. Cyberpunk video games

Wow, it's so strange to think this current generation probably hasn't been exposed to cyberpunk at all... How do you explain the allure of cyberpunk to people who were practically born with an iDevice in their hands? XP
  5. Cyberpunk video games

I'm not sure if either qualify, but Full Throttle is probably more cyberpunk than Deponia? The bikes are high-tech, specially the Cavefish guys, the world is low-life... But it's missing the oppression of an "evil empire"?
  6. Cyberpunk video games

Hmm, that does make sense, you have high tech and low-life BECAUSE high tech is more important than "life". I don't think Deponia counts then, even as a comedy, since they have high tech rusting away.... it is a junkyard after all.
  7. Cyberpunk video games

Does there have to be hacking and virtual reality? I don't remember Blade Runner having them.
  8. Cyberpunk video games

Well, you can't get more low-life than Deponia, the water there makes the river Ankh look crystal clear and Deponia literally means junkyard in German (or something like that), they have cyber implants, a cleaner holier than though society that wants to destroy the whole planet. Frankly, I'm not sure if it even classifies as post apocalyptic, the planet just got slowly dirtier, there was no big disaster.
  9. Cyberpunk video games

Well in Deponia there are the Organnon who oppress the others with their superior tech, but it's a comedy, so I guess it's not cyberpunk. I guess the difference between a comedy in a cyberpunk world and a cyberpunk comedy is in the style of humor? Dark and satire are OK, but slapstick isn't? What exactly do they mean by "low-life"? Low-life conditions? Morals? Pollution and trash? All of above?
  10. Cyberpunk video games

So to make things clear "cyberpunk" is a high-tech world that should have a minimum of cybernetics and/or internet or information sharing technology and the same time the world is either relatively dark or at least dystopic... But do post-apocalyptic worlds count? Deponia is a junk world, but some people have cybernetic implants, does that count? And I don't see how the Tex Murphy ones don't count, you can be Noir in a cyberpunk world, you can be Noir in a fantasy world, so why not cyberpunk noir?
  11. Cyberpunk video games

.hack, some of the Final Fantasy Games after 6, many of the Megami Tensei series.... Maybe Xenogears?
  12. Cyberpunk video games

Speaking of Dreamweb, it's must have just became freeware, because I found it for free at ScummVM and it was there a few weeks ago. Aren't the Tex Murphy games cyberpunk?
  13. I just noticed that the outposts are named after stars used for navigation... Polaris, Rigel, Sirius... HA HA! Also, I bought a compass today because of the game... ¬_¬U
  14. Has anybody else found this strange statue? It's so out of place and it's NOT a landmark.
  15. Mild spoiler about an awesome experience: I'm calling this plague "QWOP plague" due to how graceful it makes you. I still have to escape, but the island is so much fun to explore now!
  16. I've reached the beginning area because there is a big unexplored area near it and... yep, it's definitely explain it's right the first time... How did I get anywhere without knowing this? I don't know what I've done, but I haven't seen the beast in ages? Could it be because I'm hogging all the ingredients until I have everything? And to prove how stupid I am, I didn't know you could hide from him until very recently, but like I said, I haven't seen him since... I guess if I see him again that means I'm close to the final ingredients? I wonder if he won't appear since I think I may have left the first ingredients for last? (Did I mention I'm stupid?)
  17. Wow, am I stupid, I don't I think understood the triangulation system until now. Today I found out that one you know where you are you can mark OTHER landmarks you haven't discovered and if you do it somewhere else, you triangulate it's position. I got the position on a head on island and slowly followed the coast line until I reached a ten to a new area where I got a TON of items and now I have all the "powerup" items, but the character is still rather pathetic "QWOP"ing around and tumbling at the slightest misstep. I really messed up at the end of this area, I had the final ingredient for the muscle treatment and went for a quest ingredient in the near swamp ruins, I dropped the ingredient in the swamp got the other got chased by the beast, picked some non-vital item and when I was final safe, I somehow lost the other vital ingredient and ended up way off course. Is it me or do light a twig the moment you pick it up? Does it do anything? I thought the beast was impervious to anything? I'm going to continue off the coastline and eventually I'll find a new tent and be on my way, If the beast is more aggressive near the end, does it help to NOT make the cure until the end? I have ingredient for one part, but haven't done anything with them yet.
  18. I finally had some time to play this game again and I saw the monster.... Wow, it looks... more cute that scary? When I figured out it would only infect me with fever and then leave, I just let him. I was getting frustrated because the path I needed didn't have landmarks until it hit me... Just follow the lake, you dummy! I finally reached the next outpost with a new flower to examine... and the game crashed the moment I examined it. I'm not giving up, but if this keeps happening I will. :| EDIT: I finally found But now I'm really stuck, it seemed like the game gave a map to next area with each new place found, but not this time... Now what do I do?
  19. It's no Frog Fractions, but it's definitely "Thumbs" related and pretty awesome.
  20. Kentucky Route Zero - A Game in Five Acts

A part of me is wondering if I should wait till the price drops, but... this isn't a Steam game and even if it did appear on an indie bundle, it probably wouldn't be the whole game, but just a chapter? :|
  21. It's still in pre-order, so I doubt the Steam features are final?
  22. You can pre-order it on Steam. I usually don't pre-order digital games, but for The Cave? Yes, please!
  23. Could it be? Our (and by that I mean mine) dream of smashing LEGO building as the Hulk will finally come true? Oh yeah, you can also play as many of the other Marvel heroes... and Deadpool, gotta have Deadpool! Oh, I hope Squirrel Girl is in it! Since now these games are voiced I assume they will get at least some of voice actors from the cartoons, maybe even the movies? I'll be sad if they just use audio clips from their respective movies... Frankly, I would be equally excited if this was LEGO Twlight, I really like LEGO games....
  24. LEGO SMASH! LEGO Marvel Super Heroes?!

All LEGO games have been two players max so far, and it mostly consists on beating up bad guys and using each character's special power's to advance. It is a simple kid's game, but finding all the secrets is what it's really about, at least to me. It's the one type of game where just playing story mode is not enough. If it's like other LEGO games, you'll unlock new characters as you play, which will you give you power to access new areas in levels you've already played. I assume they'll keep the quest's from the Lord of the Rings game, but I don't know if the special bricks will be used as normal brick or you'll be able to use them in one of the heroes lab to craft items that give special powers to other characters, like giving super strength to someone who doesn't have it, this last part is speculation since it's only happened in the last game, but the first part has been the staple of every LEGO game so far.
  25. Pokémon X and Y

I am cautiously optimistic about this? It too soon to say anything, but still... I like what I see.
