My friend code is 0044-2835-6739, is the other data necessary to visit each other's town? I've added everybody in this thread, I think. It just came out and... once again, my town has apples... how boring! Unfortunately I already sold them, but if anybody needs some I'll save some for next time. I only have a shovel and a net, which is a pretty good start, but I really want a fishing pole! When can you actually do mayor stuff and visit Tortimer's island? EDIT: Oh, Isabelle gave me a fishing pole and a watering can and some oranges! GOOD DOGGIE!

I liked Insecticide too... The Whispered World was practically their first adventure game, they've gotten better.

I love how KS is making all these comics and anthologies possible, but... there are some that Kickstart their comic issue by issue. That seems like going a bit far. :|

We don't have Mountain Dew in our country, I guess this is why Europe gets treated so badly... We don't have Mountain Dew, WE DON'T DESERVE the games we missed!

I'm pretty sure it's instant, my first subscription ran out and I couldn't access anything, but the moment I payed I could. Also, the switch is likely to be at the same time the store updates? Or you mean you bought a code and are waiting for it?

As for the Playstation Plus being obligatory for multiplayer games, I don't see the problem. Multiplayer games are mostly "day one perch day two forgotten". so if you buy multiplayer games, you probably have more money than single player gamers, so the 5$ a month seems like nothing, specially if you take account that this not an Xbox Live account and you actually get more of it, like free games. Unless you buy all the games day one, I can guarantee that the investment in PSN+ will pay off just with this, each month you will get at least two "full" titles, two "full" Vita games and quite a few of the smaller downloadable only games. I assume they'll eventually start giving out free PS4 games, in hopes of repeating the effect of giving away free Vita games, eventually it's just silly to not have one. (This is probably when I'll buy a PS4) Did Xbox Live have Beta access? Or was it just demos? At this moment (I'm not sure if the weekly update happened or not) we have in the Instant Collection: Kingdoms of Amalur, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD, Sine Mora (Vita), Demon's Souls, Katherine, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Malicious, The Cave, LBP 2, Infamous 2, Uncharted (Vita) and Gravity Rush (Vita). I'm pretty sure Rayman Origins for the Vita is there too?

Man, it looks almost nobody played it and even less actually liked it. And I think their other game was even worse, this does not bode well. I'm not going to KS a company I have no confidence in. :|

You can buy a copy for 30$ on Amazon.

I should really get a new SD card since I am buying Animal Crossing to get a free game with that offer too, I know you can transfer with a click and drag, but can you get any kind of SD card of any size?

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.
Tanukitsune replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
That's almost the exact feeling I had when playing Waking Mars. *shrugs* I'm thinking of quitting Kingdoms of Amalur, I got it for free from PSN+ and I'm 14 hours in and... I grow tired of it. The Lore never interested me, it's the generic "These aren't goblins, they are.... Boglins?" type of fantasy world that tries to be different by being the exact same as every other fantasy game, but with different names. The combat is pretty fast, but my skill tree is growing fast and it doesn't feel varied enough. I can just wham them with spells and they die before I run out of MP. It feels strange that I could stomach Divinity Eco Draconis and that I even like the Risen games, but this one tires me so much... I'd hate to say, but I think it's just too long. I can see the whole map, my skill tree is more than half full and yet I bet the game is barely 10% done. I'm not even done with the first region and the side quests are so generic: Kill something, find something or make something... I don't care for the world or the characters. :| -
Hmm, the new Animal Crossing is out in Europe next week and just came out in the US, does it deserve to have it's own thread in the multiplayer section or will the friend code thread suffice?
-
Well, fortunately the game is more about journey than the anonymous interaction. It's good to know you can play it offline too.
-
I didn't even know you could play it offline, the game I played with an anonymous player and it was pretty great experience talking to each other only with chirps. Do you actually play alone or with some AI partner?

I got Shogun Total War on sale, I liked investing in my town and upgrading it, but I disliked the combat enough to set it to auto battle. :|
-
Hmm, turn based strategy games seem to be the only kind I can play, unless you count the "Pikmin style". My main problem with strategy games is that many assume you know how to play and that I'll be stuck feeling like an idiot. :|

Things in games that terrify you irrationally
Tanukitsune replied to Max Ernst's topic in Video Gaming
The closest thing to "irrational fear" I get from games are timers, I just freak out the moment I see one. Even more when it's already happening in a tense survival game. :| -
I'm pretty sure there is a new Murphy's Law just for me, the moment I buy an Indie game, it's guaranteed to be in an indie bundle. At least I try to buy them on sale.

I guess it depends on what you consider a "Myst-like" game. A first person adventure with a beautiful world to explore? One that's almost all about puzzles? Both? But I'm also giving my vote for The Room. Is it playable on anything that isn't iPhone or Android?

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Really, I found using each other as a platform with reserve gravity guy as a blast! Once you mastered it, you could get anywhere on the screen! -
Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.
Tanukitsune replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Where are you? It can get confusing with so many different characters to play as, but if memory serves me well, there are more "puzzle" centric levels than skill related, only a few of them are really that hard. -
OK, I finally beat the game and there is one thing I don't get:
-
You could just watch a YouTube Playthrough if you think that might help, for adventure games... it's almost as good as playing the game, only while cheating?
-
Hmm, I just realized there a few games I recently beat I haven't said a thing about: -Portable LEGO games in General: The games are very condensed and many things are missing, but somehow the combat is more complex, the prices for the unlockable are also different. In some aspects I like Vita version better in some the "console" version. For example, Tom Bombadil in the Vita version of LEGO Lord of the Rings walks by skipping and prancing around and kills with laughter. -The Night of The Rabbit: The Daedalic game that came out of nowhere is a pretty whimsical tale of a kid transporter to a magical world where he wishes to become a magician. I love the story and the world, but the puzzles sometimes don't make sense and I needed a guide a lot. -Tomb Raider: Jesus, this game was amazing, it was funny to see how Uncharted tried to be like Tomb Raider, but more cinematic and the new Tomb Raider has surpassed Uncharted in so many ways. The fact that she doesn't wise crack when killing people and while Uncharted makes things fall as you walk over them, in Tomb Raider the game doesn't wait for you and you will DIE if you think the game will wait for you. She seems terrified most of the game, the only way to explain it, is that this is the Die Hard of games, she's in a terrible situation and doesn't feel like the unstoppable killing machine she will surely become in the sequels. -Waking Mars: I'm glad I posted about this in the "Quitting thread", because this game is pretty amazing too, but I hit a part I didn't understand and without help, I would have just left the game there. I liked the characters and I loved experimenting with each "seed" on every life form. Once you begin to understand the ecosystems ins and outs, I don't think you can actually mess up.

Thanks, guys! After that room the game has become really easy thanks to these tips, I will continue! :3
