  1. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I gave up on Higurashi When They Cry, It's more of a visual novel than anything.... After five hours it's just not worth it, I just googled the anime and watched the most interested things and considered it done. For a visual novel, they are almost no visuals, and it's just taking too long for anything to happen, the anime makes it seems like this should be an gory eroge game, but... NOTHING is happening, so I assume they condensed the story for the anime and made it more perverted and gory. After five hours the worst thing that happens to the main character is a needle in his food and the idiot is still in some sort of denial or something... he keeps making excuses to continue acting like everything is normal. Maybe it's a good anime or manga, but it's a terrible visual novel, terribly pacing, terrible visuals, terrible writing, terrible everything.
  2. Home Gone: The 9th Guest of the 12th Hour

Jesus, at this rate even Orion Burger will get a Kickstarter... All I remember about these games is how much I hated the microscope puzzle.
  3. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

I also got I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, but I'm wary of playing it because since it's an older game it might be riddled with dead ends and at the same time, I don't want spoilers?
  4. Recently completed video games

I've played a few things lately.... since I needed a Move controller for Halloween, my cheapest option that would arrive in time was... Wonderbook: Book of Spells... I... I had fun.... I guess I'm a bigger Harry Potter fan what I expected since I did have fun casting the spells from the books and I was surprised at how many spells you "learn". I'm still new to the Move, but the "flick" motion seems to work fine and it understood which spells I was tracing 95% of the time, oddly enough, it had more trouble with the simple line gestures than the complex ones. And while it was for kids, any Harry Potter fan would enjoy it enough... Also... WIZARDS! What I really bought it for was House of the Dead III. IV and Overkill, 3 and 4 were awesomely cheesetacular and Overkill, I only played a level, but it was way too long for a rail shooter. I doubt it will top the robot zombie ninjas in IV. I also miraculously completed Hotline Miami, once again a game I couldn't really stomach on PC was more fun on my Vita, also
  5. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Considering it's already Halloween and we haven't decided what to read yet... I don't think it really matter if we choose a horror comic or not anymore...
  6. General Video Game Deals Thread

Isn't Mercenary Kings still in early access? It's been in early access forever now. :|
  7. PlayStation+

Not really, for 8 € I got House of the Dead 3, 4 and Overkill and for 10€ I got BOTH Resident Evil shooters, not to mention Time Crisis Rising Storm which includes Time Crisis 4 and the cheesetacular Deadstorm Pirates are PS3 exclusives.
  8. PlayStation+

I just tried the House of the Dead game without the Move controller, it's doable, but I'm losing so much precision that making head shots or hitting power ups was WAY too hard. I guess I will be buying a Move and an the Eye thingie after all, but since I want it in time for Halloween, eBay doesn't seem like the right option and the prices seem to be nearly the same.
  9. PlayStation+

Hmm, I just realized that the Wonderbook also counts as an accessory and could be used for other Wonderbook games... if I ever want to play one that is. The tagline is "one book, a thousand stories" so it has to be the same one for every book, right? Edit: Damn, if only they sold a bundle with the Time Crisis game bundle. I heard Deadstorm Pirates is awesome in the way cheesy arcades should be.
  10. PlayStation+

Yeah, but those guns won't work on a flat screen TV, the technology has changed and you need a receiver... Damn, it looks like I might have to buy a bundle with a game, a stupid game I will hate... Even looking at Ebay offers they don't sound good once you add shipping... The cheapest offer I see is the Spellbook thingie and it has free shipping. At least it's not a dancing game and I kinda like Harry Potter, but still.... It's LeviosAAA not Leviooosa? :| Oh well, it's always the same with gun games, you buy the accessory and you barely have any games that use it... EDIT: Wait, I can it in a bundle on Ebay with Virtua Tennis 4, that has to be better than Wonderbook, right? They both range in the 45-50€.
  11. PlayStation+

Hmm, the Halloween sale has all the House of the Dead and Resident Evil shooters on sale, are they worth it if I don't have a Move controller? Do I just need to buy the wand or do it need a camera too?
  12. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

It exists digitally at Comixology, so it would be easily available. Any other suggestions?
  13. Cartoons!

Damn, that's terrible... but if her character was married to Ned, I wonder what they'll do, if she was just a teacher she could retire, will they have to kill her off screen or something like that?
  14. Remember Me

I got this for free with PSN+ and... wow, what a dumb game... The memory remixing is dumb, specially since all the people whose memories you remix know you can do it... The very first remix is for the bounty hunter they sent after you, , you make them think the contractors killed his husband, but... you don't change the memory of his orders.... Wouldn't the best bounty hunter ever who knew what his target could do be a little suspicious that she suddenly thinks the people who hired her killed his husband? Why would he take the case to start with if it was true? As for the game play, it's a BAD Arkham Aslyum fighting-wise, the game insists you must make combos but makes it impossible to make the bigger ones. It also adds way to many annoying elements, sure you only have to change ONE thing in the custom combo, but the fact that you have to do it manually and constantly sucks. The style was nice, but once you leave the city and it's just industrial complexes and such, it gets boring. I'm glad I got it free, and I'm not sure it was worth my time, but still, at least it wasn't a shooter and you finally get to play as a female in a "AAA" game? Except I already did that in AC III: Liberation. It felt "gamey" in the sense that bosses seemed to be there because a game needs bosses and the climbing was there because gamers like to climb, right? At least they don't lay down the "lazy lock down arena" too thick?
  15. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Too late, and yeah, it wasn't really that good, but it didn't get any worse. I'll probably say more about in the appropriate thread.
  16. Lone Survivor

Am I the only one who cares about this game? I just got the Director's Cut on PS3 and I like the extra content, it's not that much, but since I only played it once getting every ending in this version was great. You won't even be able to access the new content until your second walkthough, but it's still awesome.
  17. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I got Remember Me for free on PSN+ and... it's actually pretty forgettable, I'm halfway through and it's just a game with mediocre "Arkham Aslyum" fighting and mediocre climbing with a girl constantly wondering if what she's doing is right or not. Should I bother finishing it? I'm pretty sure the ending won't surprise me.
  18. Cartoons!

I'm pretty sure he had to deal with Marceline's hunger with red before and he was dating a flaming red princess, how did he just find out now he's color blind?
  19. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

OK, here's some suggestions for Halloween, I'm suggesting those that can be found digitally to make them easy to find: -Scary Godmother -Creepy #1: Dark Horse's Tales From the Crypt, the first issue of the modern comics is free or... -Creepy Archives volume 1: The classic ones -Tales From the Crypt "modern version" is available at Comixology I had my heart set on the original EC comics, but I can't find them digitally.
  20. Candy Box 2

I just cheated to get the ending... but...
  21. Candy Box 2

  22. Candy Box 2

  23. Candy Box 2

I got in there, but couldn't solve any of the puzzles, I have potions to float, but they require me to fly somehow? Or I don't get the puzzle.
  24. Candy Box 2

  25. Remember Boogerman? That game about a superhero who farted, spitted and picked and flicked? He has a Kickstarter. I'm not sure this will do well, I mean, I would still play a game about a farting superhero, but I'm pretty sure most people old enough to remember him are old enough to not like this kind of game... And the audience young enough to like this kind of game wouldn't like it being so retro in gameplay? I kinda want it to succeed just for the Kirkhope soundtrack alone. It's kinda silly but modern gamers can be the most puerile people and will do the dumbest things in games, but they don't seem to like dumb games like this anymore. Does it stand a chance? I would say that if the Commander Keen one didn't succeed this one doesn't stand a chance, but... The Commander Keen one didn't really have any CK in it.
