Well, it would be Spring in the Southern Hemisphere, right? I don't know if they call it Spring, but I know they have Spring's weather now. Hmm, have any important or noteworthy games been developed there lately?

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Tanukitsune replied to posh_somme's topic in Video Gaming
You know the game has a hint system, right? You can get some glasses that reveal hint ghosts which you pay in play coins.... I used it once, but most times just seeing where they are is a big hint. -
I'm pretty tempted to get RPG Maker.... the last time I "had" one, I spent ages creating a town and never did much more... ¬_¬U

I heard about it when every web-cartoonist started to make jokes about it.

Ah, thanks! I was getting worried for a minute!

Is Steam spying on me? Why do they always seem to pick the exact moment I have my backlog under control? *puts on tin foil hat* But seriously, my wishlist might be big, but I don't see anything that isn't just 50% that I can't wait until they appear at 66 or 75%.

I couldn't add them to mine... is it different in Europe?

Persona 5 - 2015 the year of the PS3 / Persona Q - 3DS
Tanukitsune replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
I follow the original voice actress and she changed her avatar to a chibi Chie, but I don't remember if she officially announced it? I don't know what to think of having a Persona RPG on the 3DS, while the Vita gets a dancing game... I'm fortunate to have both systems, but I'm pretty sure the average Persona fan doesn't? I know Atlus works for several systems, but Persona has always been a Sony exclusive, right? But seriously... a dancing game? Atlus, you were lucky I took a gamble and took the risk of buying your crazy block game Catherine, but a dancing game? Nope, I have no sense of rhythm, so I can't even play them. -
I've played the game too many times for the puzzles to be "moon logic-y" to me, but yeah the magnet puzzle was the most challenging one as far as I remember.

3D Dot Game Heroes is a fun Zelda clone/parody that's super challenging and fun! I also love the Ratchet & Clank series and the Sly Cooper series. If you have a move controller, get the House of the Dead games (except the new one) and the Timi Crisis collection that comes with the cheesetacular Deadstorm Pirates. Should we mention any PSOne or PS2 game that are available on the PS3? If you bother to get a Japanese account and a Japanese PSN card you can get some hidden gems like SIlhouette Mirage. Oh, I second the Tokyo Jungle game, it's insane and insanely fun!

Chew is on sale at Comixology, I should definitely be getting these, right? I've heard the premise and a lot of praise for this series.

Huh, Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus was shorter than I thought, I guess that's why it was cheaper. I love most of the new weapons, the Winterizer plays a remix of Jingle Bells, shoots a ray of snowflakes and candy canes and turns enemies into snowmen! The Nightmare Box not only scare enemies so much it hurts them, it also acts as a decoy that even bosses will focus on instead of trying to kill you! The best part? Mr. Zurkon now gets a full family when upgraded! The family that slays together stays together. I'm not kidding, I practically squeed when I saw Mr. Zurkon Jr. It's definitely a fuller Ratchet & Clank experience than Quest for Booty (which actually comes for free with the game).

Well, I beat Ridiculous Fishing, the ending was pure FTW and also A Link Between Worlds. I love the new stamina system and that I don't have to searched for bombs and arrows anymore, but I still don't know what to think of the game taking place in the same world as A Link to the Past. While the dungeons are different, some even have the same bosses. The fact that they "broke" what I call "The Zelda formula" by letting you rent every item from pretty close to the start didn't bother me in the end has to speak in the games favor. It doesn't really matter that you can access all the items since every dungeon is usually based on one item only puzzle-wise, so in a way the old Zelda formula still works, I might get all the shiny new toys at once, but with the way the "playgrounds" are designed, it still feels like I'm getting a new "shiny thing" every once in a while. It's also funny to see how the game sometimes seems to use your knowledge of ALttP against your or to your advantage sometimes.

It's strange too see so many "angry reviewers", it's like "Weird Al" to comedy music, a big chunk of them have "weird", "insane" or some variation in front of their name.
-
Who the Angry Video Game Nerd? No, the guy who plays him is actually pretty nice, it was some relatively famous troll whose name I can't remember. I just beat Antichamber and it blew my mind, it takes some time to get adjust on how the paths works, but the puzzles were challenging in a way that each puzzle will teach you something to use in the next one.

I think I know what you mean with Verrick and yeah, he did come back with a win.

Maybe Raina Telgemeier's "Smile" or "Drama"? I should really pick up Anya's Ghost, it's been on my wishlist forever... :|

Shelter is back of the latest Groupees bundle. I've "beaten" it and it seems effective at manipulating your emotions... I still enjoyed it despite the fact that I saw how it was manipulating me, but I'm glad I bought it in a bundle. Oh, also...

While I did enjoy the Avatar finale, I do know it was much dumber and made less sense and seemed more forced. Am I supposed to like Mako? It feels like he wants Korra AND Asami and changes his mind on which is his favorite with each episode... The spirit world thing seemed like a convenient Deus Ex Machina that had the exact item or spirit they needed, or just to make cameos of characters we actually like. But.... VERRICK! And Bolin! YES! They made everything worth it.

I finished the Angry Video Game Nerd game... I'm not sure why though. It's weird to have him take a dump on his own game and the game is as broken as the games whines about in his shows, but on purpose, sure it's doable, but knowing that's is done on purpose doesn't make it better. The humor falls flat since it's mostly rehashing jokes from the show and the levels aren't funny themselves... This game kinda sucks, the pixel art isn't "MSPaint edited Megaman sprites" bad, but it's not that good, the music is OK-ish, the gameplay is probably bad on purpose, which doesn't make sense. And it's ridiculously overpriced, I bought it on sale and I still feel like I payed too much for it... Go play Abobo's Adventure instead and Paypal them some money.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes: Wow, the game is slowing turning into a GTA clone in it's own way, the hub world has become a real living world now. There are so many missions scattered through the city, instead of just breaking a wall to get a brick. It's strange how it never got tedious... The flying races are weird, you can unlock flying vehicles, but you can't use them in flying races, only flying characters, mostly because you must fly through tight tunnels, also they are actually VERY challenging now! I couldn't beat the final ones until I unlocked the Silver Surfer. I love all the minor details, like how the city reacts to each character, if you "steal" a car as a superhero, the citizens seems to be OK with it, but if you use a villains they will cry for help. Also, many citizens seem to have various comments on certain superheroes, sure the "What a silly costume" applies to all, but the more popular ones seem to get personalized comments like "Isn't that Iron-something?" Speaking of popular heroes, you only play as the most popular ones in the main story line, Spiderman, The Avengers, Fantastic Four and The X-Men, with a few scattered Deadpool cameos, speaking of cameos... Stan Lee makes 50 of them as a rescuable character and once you rescue him 50 times you can play as him and he's part Spiderman, part Hulk, 100% EXCELSIOR! It's strange how the game deliberately has more filler than usually and it didn't bother me, in one of the Deadpool missions he even points out how the programmers where out of ideas, so let's punch bad guys for a few minutes, OK? And speaking of Deadpool, he's the Red Brick guy in this game, now instead of finding them in the hub, you play special hidden missions where they are hidden, you don't even play as Deadpool, he just introduces the levels... (PS: He's voiced by Nolan North) I guess the extra missions and bricks are to compensate for the "short" main story line? As much as I don't mind that this game has 250 golden bricks instead of 200, I sure hope that it doesn't get any higher, or at least that they aren't as "time consuming" as some of them are here.

The end-of-the-generation retrospective megathread.
Tanukitsune replied to Sno's topic in Video Gaming
This is the generation where the whole "cheevo" thing started, which we kinda loved before and now we kinda hate them... I feel this is the generation where the whole "hate out of then" thing started, the generation where a majority of gamers are convinced a longer game is a better game and this was the first generation I started to quit games not because I didn't like the game or was terrible at it, but because the game overstayed it's welcome and I just get bored with it. This was the FPS generation, sure the shooter has been the gamer's favorite since the days of Doom, but this is the generation where the market was saturated with shooters. Come to think of it, this is the generation where half the game genres are saturating the market and some are really on the brink of extinction, like the "metroidvania" or the true arcade style game. It's the first generation of games that were epic, but I never want to play again... Super Meat Boy? It was great, but I'll never play it again because I don't want to put myself through such a game again. Borderlands 2? It was epic, but it's was infinity hours long, I don't even want to think about playing this again. I still remember playing games without Steam, I really miss the installers, but you still get them with indie games, so I still play games without Steam every once in a while? This is the generation where the crazy Steam sales started, where the super indie bundles started, the generation where we all started to have backlogs thanks to the market saturation, crazy sales and insanely long games... Looking back, it's hard to tell if this was the best generation or the worst, it seems that for every good thing we had, there was two terrible things? To me the best part of this generation was Steam and in some ways PSN+ and my PSP, call me crazy but I owe so much to my PSP, my love for JRPGs and so much more was reborn thanks to it. As for the new generation, I feel it will the one where so little will change, but it's too soon to even think about it, looking back at how much Steam, the 360 and the PS3 have changed it's impossible to tell. -
GUYS! GUYS! They novelized the Roller Coaster Tycoon series! They seem to be choose your own adventure books and they have at least six of them! So yeah, that's about it, I just thought I needed to share this info with the rest of the community... Go to page 114 to water down sodas, go to page 27 to hire nightmare inducing clowns to entertain the crowds or go to page 34 to make a ride incomplete and see the chaos ensue.

Well, I read my first Gail Simone comic, Batgirl Vol 1: The Darkest Reflection and apart from a scene that existed only for the sake of conflict and drama , I pretty muched loved it! It even wrapped up so nicely that I don't have to buy the next volume because of a cliffhanger or some foreshadowing, but because it's just a damn good story! :3 This is probably my first DC comic in decades and I'm glad I bought it.
