I got the last Humble Game Maker bundle, do you think it's worth getting the new one just for the new modules (iOS, HTML5 and Windows UWP)?

Does the removal from PSN mean even people who bought won't be access it? It's 85% off at Indie Gala, BTW

I just beat Zettai Hero Project: Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman, a rogue-like dungeon crawler from the Disgaea people. I never played a Disgaea game, but I know they were grindfests, so I was worried about this game, but I loved it! It has the typical starting over at level 1 and losing everything when you die, but as you progress in the game you can unlock stores in your base like an insurer who you can pay to keep your stuff after dying, for example. It has unlockable dungeons based on shows like Oreimo and Boogiebop Phantom with tickets you find by "excavating" with your caravan, which you can meet at certain floors. It just seems pretty well balanced, you can set the caravan to rescue you at a certain level if you think you won't make it to the end or you just want to safe and keep the loot. The story has about ten chapters and dungeons with about 10 floors each. Whether you win or lose you will gain a stat boost depending on how many levels you gained. The game gave lots of crazy moments, like falling for a log trap that threw me half over the map into a room filled with sleeping monsters, who awoke the moment I moved, or finding out that not only you can equip the mermaid's tail... you can eat it. The most hilarious moment was wearing a Prinny hat, getting thrown by another moments and die in a horrible explosion for wearing Prinny gear. The game also seems to have several endings, and lots of extra dungeons I'm trying to unlock, but I wonder... Since I'm enjoying Z.H.P. I wonder if this means I'll enjoy Disgaea or Phantom Brave?

I really haven't even touched the challenges, do they go all the way up to Mom or even further? I'm also debating on whether to figure out the unlocking on my own or not, the Gumpy surprise wouldn't have been as cool if I had know what was going to happen.

How do I trigger Mega-Satan? I've never seen Heaven either, but I guess since I made pacts with the Devil it would make sense to not be able to get there?

Do I have to reach a certain stage very quick? I like exploring thoroughly. I might check out the expansion, but I do have a few challenges I haven't even touched?

I think I beat Binding of Isaac: Rebirth? Satan is the final boss, right? I had a crazy run where I got three Gumpy items and turned into Gumpy the cat, I finally made it to the Womb and the game froze.... I thought I'd never get such a good run again and was fuming, but I managed to beat Mom's Heart and soon got the most ridiculous run ever. I upgraded the store so it always had a 15c useful item and managed to get the PHD (?) and the rechargeable pill bottle, which means I kept getting health ups, luck ups and range ups, but the best part was when I got the "remote control tear", which I though would ruin my run, but it made me unstoppable, specially since I got the charge shot and some laser upgrade, which turned the tear into a ring of death!

I just 100% Pharaoh Rebirth+ and boy was it amazing up into the end! It's safe to say this is the best "Metroidvania" nobody heard of, and it really stands out on it's own, it has a few "normal" puzzles, but it's mostly about exploration and finding relics. There are about 80 different collectibles and some are only obtained by beating a boss without getting hit, which I somehow did. Most of the relics give you a small stat bonus and they really add up when you start filling up your inventory, some items are traded for others and some only work when you have a set. The beauty and fluidity of the pixel art was just stunning and I just couldn't get enough of the game until I 100%ed it. It a shame the game has such a small following that I was practically alone when I had to find all the items, but it was also nice to do it mostly on my own?
  9. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I started playing Yakuza 5 and... does anybody know if the taxi stuff is optional? I hate driving and the taxi job seems super annoying. The reason I like Yakuza games is because you don't have guns or cars. :\

I finally beat Herc's Adventures, which is basically Zombies Ate My Neighbors in ancient Greece. I had to check Moby Games and one of the game designers worked on both games, which explains a lot, the graphic style, the humor, the strange weapons... it just remind me of ZAMN. But instead of traversing several levels, it's an overworld, which brings me to the game's biggest flaw, the world isn't open that much if at all and many times you will have to go the same route a few times because it's your only option. You want to get to Athens from Crete? You have to go to Egypt and the Amazon lands each time. When you start the game you'll see some places you can't reach because of a giant boulder, but once you train in the city and can lift the boulders, the only obstacles will be locked doors or people demanding a password. The game is on the US PSN store and I recommend giving it a go.

I was offline for a few weeks and beat a bunch of games: -Nano Assault EX: I got this from the Nintendo Humble Bundle and it's pretty fun shmup. -Earth Defense Force 2: This game is such campy fun, I love it! It has a new class that I'm not sure I want to try since playing as anything but the Pale Wing makes moving around the levels very annoying. -Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3: Huh, I got the True Ending without trying that hard, the game has many improvements over the previous one, my favorite one being a search function that tells you where to get items for a quest or a plan. It also seems that items are less rare since some rare bosses appear more than once, making it easy to get their rare drops. -ONE PIECE Unlimited World Red: This game was so good I want to start watching the show again, oddly enough this game lets you play as more One Piece characters than the recent Musou game and I get to play as Chopper so I'm happy. -Skullgirls 2nd Encore: I love the new Eliza character, her move set is so beautiful to behold and fun to play is... if only Annie had won the vote and was among the playable characters, I like Lab Zero wanted her to be in the game too since she practically takes over Beowulf's story. -AQUA KITTY Milk Mine Defender DX: I finally beat this Defender clone, it got pretty bullet hellish near the end, but I somehow made it! -Everybody's Stress Buster: This a collection of mini-games that apparently nobody knew about. It's biggest problem is that in it's digital version, it sells the mini-games in packs of three and they don't "merge" if you buy the full set. The games might be set for people with OCD since one of the mini-games is just... organizing books... which I found SO SATISFYING! There is also a vacuuming mini-game which I also loved, I loved all the mini-games, even the soccer one, which was almost like Arkanoid/Breakout. Two mini-games are the same in a way, both being based on whack-a-mole. Since it's about "stress busting", the mini-games are either relaxing or well... destructive? You can throw pies at your "boss", wreck stuff in a tractor derby, etc, etc..

I'm thinking of quitting Tales of Phantasia, it was nice to see where the "tales of" series comes from, but I loath the combat, the group is AI controlled and barely seems to do anything and the character you control isn't much better, I can only set it to "auto" or "semi-auto", on auto you barely attack and on semi you do but... you don't fully control the hero and he runs around like a headless chicken and all you can do is mash the attack button. I put up with the horrid combar, because I like everything else about the game, until I reached a boss that wiped me out immediately and now I have to grind and with this combat system, it's quite infuriating and it no longer seems worth it.

Bloo Kid 2 is an incredibly solid platformer that is far from original that even bosses are "borrowed" (the first one is just the tree boss from Kirby), but it plays with the borrowed elements well, you only have a doulbe jump to defend yourself but the game slowly changes so I never got tired of the game at all. If it weren't for the small "mobile" elements (star ratings), this could be a lost Amiga game of yore!

THERE IS A PUG BUNDLE! Tiny Build has theirs at 75% too! I found a site that has compiled most of the Steam bundles, but it hasn't been updated with the Summer Sale deals so many of them are pretty cheap, although I'm not sure if it's worth it to browse them all just to find a few deals?
  15. General Video Game Deals Thread

Has anybody noticed that Steam is doing a few of special bundles with HUGE discounts? Did these exist before the Summer sale and will they exist after it? Probably not, I'm looking a few with 95% off! They seem to be for cheap indie games, but I'm pretty curious about these bundles, some indie companies seem to be selling their whole library for a few dollars!

I've played and.... wow, what is this even? Where is the music? No wonder people call this a lifeless clone, it's so boringly silent! I feel terrible because.... I quit, the sniper stage is just BS.... it seems to have NO CHECKPOINTS! Apparently once you free a boss it will help you in some stages? The electric boss suddenly appears and makes some electric puns saying it helped but.... I don't see how? Maybe she deactivated a trap I couldn't see? Every stage seems to have two mid-bosses that are super forgettable... The levels feel longer and harder and well, not well thought out? What's the point of these dumb power ups you get when absorbing enemies? The "helper bot" only drops temporary power ups that are useless, I keep dying in the platforming sections, can't I have a Rush Jet or Beat helper instead? I hate how the boss battles works, it's kinda like a Mega Man except they heal if you don't "dash absorb" them at the right moment... When you're fighting a flying boss on very tiny platforms, you just don't have that many openings for this, speaking of which the Aviator battle was SO boring... I kinda don't want to play more, I'm at peak disappointment now...
  17. Keiji Inafune's Mighty No.9

Wow, could the release be any worse? Half of the version are not ready yet, the Vita and 3DS versions are still in development and the "Better than nothing" comment is just.... appropriate?
  18. I don't know why I waited so long to post about this, but I'm making a game in RPG Maker called BoopQuest about a cute robot that used to be evil, but now just wants to make friends and pet cute animals... At the beginning there was supposed to be combat, but I didn't like the idea of animals attacking you while for no reason, so you just pet them for a few turns... There are also "RudeBot", which you must turn nice, but frankly, there is no challenge, you just do cute stuff in front of cute things who do cute thing back at you. It still has as a menu, even though I'm pretty sure I should remove it, since you don't really need it for anything. I kinda need people to playtest it a bit and I've seen the thread, but would it be a good idea to just post it if I intend to sell it? I still have to fine tune it a bit, make a trailer for Steam Greenlight and.... Oh dear, Jim Sterling is going to see it, isn't he? *panics*
  19. [Dev Log]BoopQuest: From Frags to Scritches

So many people seems to use Incompetech's free music, once I was aware of it, the tunes I had listened to kept popping up in YouTube videos and such. I'm not surprised it happens to others too. What did surprised me is that the person that recognized the music didn't know Incompetech?
  20. [Dev Log]BoopQuest: From Frags to Scritches

    Oh, right! Here it is!
  21. [Dev Log]BoopQuest: From Frags to Scritches

BoopQuest has been on Steam Greenlight for a few days and every day it's getting less attention... I have no idea how to keep up the momentum! D: The few comments were decent, the obligatory "MSPaint, downvoted!" one, but the rest were nice and helpful?

I completed Wild Arms and.... I loved it? It adds "tools" for puzzles making it a bit Zelda-ish and it's probably one of my favorite JRPGs on the PSOne. The most surprising thing is that despite doing ALL the JRPG tropes, it seems to do them their own way, giving it a more unique feel. It also made me realize how many other JRPGs do ALL THE TROPES and still feel "fresh". A bit part is the cast, which as also tropes... but done in their own way too. Every game seems to have some escaped princess in the party, but they never feel like the SAME princess, if you catch my drift? Frankly, I guess my gushing about the game is how the the same things as every other JRPG and feel unique and fun? I hoping to have as much fun with Wild Arms II!
  23. Samorost 3?!

Apparently Samorost 3 is coming out.... today? I feel bad for just finding out... (Is it Samorost Day yet?)
  24. Plug your shit

I loved that cute lil' animation and RT the living daylights of it! I... I put a game on Steam Greenlight....
  25. What software do you use to make a trailer?

I was told the reason it looked weird was because RPG Maker VX Ace displays in a weird resolution, I was able to solved it, although it does look a bit stretched.
