  1. Tales of Maj'Eyal

I miraculously survived two dungeons... on easy (it's still crazy though), only to be given four more dungeons to complete. Six dungeons in a roguelike is kinda ridiculous, aren't they usually just one dungeon? I'm hoping six dungeons is the max, although I'm not sure I'll live long enough to find out. Those minibosses are tougher than normal bosses or something? In the middle of one dungeon, I met a special skeleton that took a few lives from me.
  2. Tales of Maj'Eyal

I got the Steam version in an indie bundle and... How long is the game? It seems like you have to complete quests to unlock new classes, so I'm really hoping the game isn't too long. Also, I somehow managed to reach the boss of an area only to die quickly, I restarted the game with the same character and didn't find any boss and the end of the dungeon. :|
  3. Recently completed video games

Apart from replaying games that are finally on Steam I've played: Ballpoint Universe Infinite: It's a strange shooter with a platform hub world, the ink paper aesthetic are great looking, but when the platforming gets complicated the controls really make a bit frustrating. I don't really get the point of the hub world though... I guess it's there for story exposition? Ravenwsword: Shadowlands: I'm pretty sure this is an Android/iOS game ported to Steam, it's like a very light version of Skyrim, which is probably why I could stomach it... It's "too short" to bore or annoy me. It's kinda cute to see it try to emulate cRPGs and fail because of the hardware limitations and scope of the story. You can buy a house, but you don't need to sleep, also, you have to carry the furniture in your inventory and I couldn't figure out how to place them well, all of my paintings just clips through the wall into oblivion... It has sneaking, magic, "clans" to join and all that rot, but it's practically useless. I'm not even sure if the reputation has any effect on the game at all! Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage: Part of the same indie bundle. Boy is this different from Shadow Warrior one! The level is much smaller, but it's so much more challenging, since the game adds EXPLOSIVES to the mix! Which you have to dispose of in an incinerator... Of course, all you have to do is put them in a bucket of water and that somehow prevents it from exploding (wouldn't the water evaporate?). Also this game is FILLED with stuff you "shouldn't" break. For some reason "decorative Xmas balls" leave a puddle when they break and you very easily break one if you're not careful. To be truthful, I wasn't even able to 100% it, which to the game means I failed... I literally spent and hour moping everything and looking for debris, but the game still said something was dirty, so I gave up. I just might try it again and destroy everything, even though I'm not meant to, just to find whatever I missed.
  4. Books, books, books...

This isn't that surprising, they've had at least on ebook bundle, right? Apart from Salman Rushdie and Piers Anthony, I know nothing of the other authors here. :|
  5. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

At least for me, I just know what to do because I'm experienced with these kind of games, nowadays if I get stuck in a game, it's because it's demanding a leap of logic or it's a trial and error puzzle I can't be bothered with to do "normally". Imagine if you've spent half your life reading mystery novels, the more you read them, the easier it is for you to figure out the mystery. The more you play, the easier it gets, it's as simple as that.
  6. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

I always cringe a little when people say "the puzzles were too easy", that's how moon logic was born... I'd rather have a fluid and simple adventure that have it ruined a bit by getting stuck, not to mention that since I've been playing adventure games since I was a little kid, the puzzles are easier for me. It's probably also easier for the rest of you for the same reason. :|
  7. anime

Yeah, the main character from Space Dandy sounds like the main character from City Hunter.
  8. anime

So... Space Dandy is City Hunter in space?
  9. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

I'm pretty sure it's same ending, they are both happening at the same time and while they are influencing each other's story, I don't think you can change anything in the story by playing the characters in a certain order.
  10. Fresh Indie Game Compendium Extraordinaire

Pom Gets Wi-fi By: Me-Patra Available: Here! Synopsis: Pom is just a Pomeranian who wants to surf the net who dies in a fire with Shibe, the other dog that lives in the house... Pom is tumblr in "doge" form, some jokes might be brilliant, some might make you cringe... Some references might needs some thinking, which are the best kind: But most of the game is this: I thought it was hilarious... :|
  11. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

Does anybody know how to make Doom.wad files? Because I'm pretty sure we could make Gun Home a reality with relative ease this way.
  12. anime

I've quitted Kanokon, sometimes I enjoy dumb anime, I think I didn't enjoy because it was a generic "ecchi harem" thing, but not "bad" enough to be enjoyable? I guess they have to be High School of the Dead bad for me enjoy them. *shrugs* PES. What is this, a Toyota commercial turned into an anime? Oh, it's exactly that? Blergh. XP Tsuritama: It's a show about a kid with terrible social anxiety and an alien... who wants to go fishing... and it was one of the best and most touching animes I've seen lately! Which is crazy seeing how technical they get with the fishing stuff.
  13. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

Since that video is from Dorkly, it's hard to tell if they are making fun of the Gone Home fans or the "haters", although Dorkly does tend to make more fun of nerds than jokes nerds would enjoy, so maybe it's the later?
  14. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

It's kinda weird, isn't two weeks too much time for reviews? A couple of days before the game is released, yeah, that makes sense, but two weeks? Who remembers a two week old review?
  15. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

He does have a point, if you're a backer, you already have the game... reviews are for people who haven't bought it... or people who have bought it and need validation. Then again, non-backers will have to wait quite a while to play it anyway.
  16. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Wow.... Just, wow. I'm so glad I backed this and I'm so glad I didn't wait for part 2...
  17. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

I think I just spotted the first celebrity V.O. is Jack Black
  18. anime

Man, Crunchyroll sure has a lot of short 3-4 minutes anime shows now. AI-Mai-Mi is show about a manga club were "zany stuff" happens, I wouldn't call it random, because it has it's own logic, it was short and sweet. Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories: I quit this one, I don't mind crude animation, but the stories always end in a jump scare of before the real scary stuff should happen. Chitose Get You! This was rather cute and funny too, an 11 year girl falls in love with the same man her teacher does, her friends are kinda weird too once you get to know them too. Dark Side Cat: Imagine a show about a "hero" who just destroys and annoys everywhere he goes and in the end accidentally helps someone, imagine if it looked like a bad flash cartoon. I quit this one too. Like I said I don't mind bad animation that much, but the show is just not good. Shamanic Princess: It looks like a very generic old school anime I'd rather watch a guy do a video review of that what the actual show. Which is what I think I'll do. Muromi-San: For some reason, a mermaid keeps pestering a teenage boy. The boy is the straight man and it's mostly about him reacting to how mythical creatures really are and they said history really happened. It was probably my favorite of the batch.
  19. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Argh, it's too late for me to start play this game over here, instead of playing for a few minutes I'd rather start tomorrow. Steam is constantly teasing me with the news of everybody else playing it. :|
  20. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Wait, wait... it says here it's a Beta? At least it's not an Alpha build. :|
  21. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

A tiny part of my brain is wonder if I should wait... I haven't been following the game on purpose, but now that it's going to be out and knowing it's going to be in two chapters... I have no idea when chapter two will be out. I really should just play it, right? :|
  22. anime

I watched the whole "High School of the Dead", a.k.a. "Love Hina with Eiken-esque boobs... also zombies". I'm sorry, there is no way you'll convince me this show is NOT a harem comedy, it's just so stupidly hilarious. The cheesecake reaches and probably goes over the "ecchi" line and STILL they had to have a "shoehorned boobs" character.... so yeah, a show with giant boobs decided to add a character that is completely unnecessary with BIGGER boobs and more ecchi and cheesecake... And I'm not kidding with the "Love Hina" thing, two of the female main character are exactly the same as two of the main female characters from Love Hina... but with comically large breasts... I kinda love it for all the wrong reasons... It's so dumb.... it's beautiful! X3 I go on for ages on how beautiful dumb this show is, but I also want to talk about a LEGIT show: Polar Bear Cafe: It's a cafe run by a polar bear and frequented by other animals, like a yapping penguin and a lazy panda who works park time at the zoo... as a part time panda. I'm not sure how it works.... It's like it's dumb animal trying to act like humans and fail, Mr. Penguin is just a business man that like sardines a lot, for example, it's just a slice of life show with animals that are pretty human, but still animals. It just works... somehow! I... LOVE... IT!

If you can understand Spanish, I can point you to some comics with the same kind of humor.
