Well, I beat Knight of the Pen and Paper +1, I remember ElMuerte saying that he felt like it was a fremium game since you pay for characters and temporary bonuses, but it's all in in-game currency and if there is a store to buy money, I never saw it, it's relatively fair since the more difficult missions give you more money, although it sucks that you have to pay more and more for each member of your group. What really sucked is that you kinda max out around level 30, you don't get skill points for spells and you don't you don't get better equipment, the problem? The final areas have you fighting SWARMS of level 42 characters. To make things even worse I found out how unfair dungeons are too late, it's relatively fair to have to roll to see if you're attacked for camping in a non-safe area, but what really sucks is that fleeing from a battle in a dungeon means you have to restart the whole thing. I ran away from a fight only because it's so annoying to fighting the swarms of final enemies. Even if you buy some temporary boosts that counts as fleeing the dungeon and means you have to restarts. Not to mention, the dice felt "loaded" in the final dungeon, in the first dungeon I entered I didn't encounter a single enemy (the higher the roll, the better the encounter, too low means a trap, too high means treasure), while I encountered a fore around each corner and this was my character that had a +1 to all dice rolls which stacked with another temporary boost I used and yet I still had to fight every few minutes. I also beat the Room II, it keeps amazing how much I love this series seeing that I tend to hate games that are nothing but puzzle over puzzle, but the implementation and air of mystery makes it all work perfectly! It did feel like it trying to be more scary than mysterious this time though.

According to the calendar they will release a few titles each two weeks until they have them all and frankly, I kinda don't like the idea of buying a bundle that's TOO big. Am I the only one who after buying a big game bundle or after a big sale feels compelled to plow though a few as quickly as possibly because it's kinda scaring to see your backlog triple in size all of the sudden.
-
I'm really debating whether to get the "uber" Humongous bundle, if all games are released at 50% like the first batch, it's not worth it, but what if it's not? What are the chances that all of the games are on sale during the first week of release? Hmm... I also noticed Fatty Bear is not part of the bundle, I wonder why?

I beat Tales of Xillia and it's even better than Tales of Graces! In theme an tone it's pretty much the same as Graces, it has very dark moments, but also very sweet moments and characters I actually enjoy playing as. Although some might find this a bad thing, I like the fact that I can simply set the battles to automatic and just read a book or comic, the AI does a better job then I would most of the time. And one of the most interesting things about the game is the shop upgrade system, instead of gathering crafting items for synthesizing potions and such, you just give them to the shop and will become a shop that sells better items and this carries over to ALL shops of that category, which means you never have to look for a specific shop again. I remember complaining in Tales of Graces about how they seem to force two characters into a couple out of nowhere, well in Xillia every single female character seems to fall in love with Jude, the worst part? Despite that, the ending was ridiculously satisfying.

I just read all The Goon issues and it was pretty awesome, it's kinda like Hellboy only slightly sillier and cartoonier. The issue where they make fun of mainstream comics is rather brilliant. I also read the first volume of The Runaways that's been on sale on Comixology for an eternity and... It wasn't satisfying? The whole six issues feel like a pilot, Molly barely had a few lines, but since it seems it has an actual ending, I'm willing to buy at least the next volume... when it's on sale on Comixology.

What on Earth did you watch? One of the girls from Steven Universe I know of would actually bully someone and I certainly don't remember any mentally challenged characters, the Onion kid doesn't speak, but neither does his dad.

This is kinda a deal, but they just release Humongous games on Steam! There much be some mistake, because they are charging the price for ALL of their games when they only have a few of them for sale? Weird.

At first I thought Rick and Morty was just "Drunken Doreamon", boy am I glad I was wrong... Should I even dare mention the "brony" episode of Bob's Burgers? It's pretty weird for them to social satire all of the sudden, but... they kinda failed, satire is an exaggeration of the truth, not an exaggeration of the stereotypes, not to mention they got "bronies" mixed up with "furries", and this episode was made by people who think "furries are just guys who dress in animal suits and call themselves stuff like Featherpaw, right?". I dunno, this episode was just so confusing on so many levels, at least the final joke was a killer? *shrugs*

OK, I finished the game and despite the ups and downs... maybe more downs and ups, I kinda really enjoyed the game in the if it weren't for the fact that the final puzzle was a friggin' GIANT MAZE. What is this? 1987? Nobody EVER liked maze "puzzles". The ending was quite fun too, the jerk of a main character and his friend really grew on me. The game wasn't as great as I expected, but the worst parts were amusing and too good parts were pretty good.

Yes, his apartment. I'm getting close to the end and since my lost post I'm getting into it again, the scenes aren't as ridiculous, the glitching seems to have subsided somehow. The one thing that does bother me is the I wonder if they glitchiness and all is due to the fact that she simply wanted to release the game on a certain date? I just checked the Kickstarter and it said March, so maybe she rushed things to try to be closer to the date she promised?

The more I play the more "Deadly Premonition" awesome it gets.... except even that game had more polish. This is "Guise of the Wolf" awesome now! The glitching, the clipping, the silliness in general... I don't know what went wrong, but it's ridiculously amusing. I'm still invested in it story-wise, even I'm positive the story will be dumb, I can't say more without spoilers, but the cutscene I saw pretty much confirms my suspicion it's going to a "crumbling pillar" where the finale will be "epic", but the road to it will be filled with plot holes that ruin it. XP

Urgh, the graphics are really getting to me now... A guy is cleaning a counter with a cloth and the cloth physics are so terrible and it's clipping and... It's kinda amusing. And the puzzle I just solved was so dumb and forced. As logical as it I hate the "I won't pick it up until I need to" thing they do in games. ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭ I think I'm beginning to enjoy the game in a way I shouldn't... I'm calling it now, it's going to have one of those ending that tries to blow your mind and would... until you stop to think for a second and noticed nothing makes sense. It's kinda soon to call it, but it seems so much worse than Grey Matter the more I play it.
-
Well, has anybody played the game yet? It's officially out and I got my Steam code. I only played the first chapter and... The graphics of the characters seems... kinda wonky? I was also put off by the intro, it was so overly dramatic and I don't even know why. Is it trying too hard? As for the gameplay? I'm kinda liking it, you play as an appraiser with a ridiculous knowledge on historical figures and for some reason, you have to investigate someone's live and.. compare it to a historical figure. I only played the first chapter which only takes place in five sparse rooms where you investigate the life on a Venician lady, once you collect enough data, you play a mini game of sort where you must eliminate the ones that don't fit her description, I think it might be possible to do it with out all the data, but I'm not sure. I'm guessing this will lead to some wacky conspiracy and intrigue shenanigans. Frankly, the only thing that is really putting me off is the art, I'm pretty sure Jane Jensen's last game looked better than this.

I think I might get Tales of Xilia from that sale, minimum. I just looked up the site I mentioned in my last post and according to the site, the Nexus 7 they have there is the 2013 version and is the 32Gigs one, not only that but they will take my PAL UK game I've been trying to sell on eBay, with about 50+ games to sell, it's possible I might not even have to pay for the tablet. At the same time, my tablet is perfectly serviceable and is only two years old, although it would be nice to have a tablet with more internal storage for comics and games. Anyway, the fact they buy UK PAL games is a life saver for me. They are really taking up a lot of space. Oddly enough they had Tales of Xillia for sale there too, but I doubt it will be as cheap as the PSN version, although I think they had the collector's edition too?

I finally completed LEGO The Hobbit, the weirdest thing is that it's been released before the final part is out and it ends on a cliffhanger. It's taken the building minigames from LEGO The Movie, this is just a shot in the dark, but I think they have have did some test and realized that these minigames can potentially sell LEGO sets. Since the game is all about dwaves, you can mine and there is "loot", which is used to build the kits in the building minigame I just mentioned, which means there is a mining mini-game, but it's pretty painless. Not to mention that only you complete the game you can just buy the resources. Another thing they added to the game is the well... "Costume quests", you have to go to character creator and create a specific, but easy to create character to complete a certain quest. The most interesting thing is that quests have a time line and you have to complete a series of quests to reach the next ones. A farmer wants to see a scarecrow, then needs help defeating some wolves, then he decides that maybe he should quit farming and become a miner for which he'll need your help and so on and so one. At the end of these quest lines you usually get a red brick or a special character unlock. Frankly, I think this is the LEGO that made me laugh the most, but I'm really curious about the final part, the rumor is that it will be DLC.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one to have the same feeling about Final Fantasy, but I used to enjoy them all until FF7, well FF9 is still but the rest? NOPE! -Cover based shooters: They always feel like a slog and they all feel like bullet sponges, I'd rather play more "swarm" styled games like Serious Sam or EDF. -MMOs: Why would I play an RPG that never ends? Specially when it's so grindy, which is also the reason I hate... -Monster Hunter or just "grindy" JRPGs: Disgaea sounds like a nightmare, endless grinding? No way! Any Monster Hunter sytle games seem way to slow and grindy for me, they don't even have a decent story to make me want to deal with the sloggy grind. I guess just saying any genre that feels like a sloggy grind to me sums up my feelings in general.

I recently finished "How to Be a Villain: Evil Laughs, Secret Lairs, Master Plans, and More!!!", which was ridiculously disappointing, it just covers the basic villain tropes that you already now if you would buy this kind of book and despite being so short on content, it feels like it has some filler or maybe the people who made it had no idea of what they were doing. "OK, here's the chapter on Evil Laughs: HAHAHA! MWAHAHA! DONE! Next chapter!" The definitions are kinda painful.... like the lairs for example. No, book, the creepy forest is not a liar, it's a place were people have their lair! No, book, a dungeon is not a evil lair, it's PART of an evil lair. I guess this was made for a quick buck and I fell for it, either that or it was done by evil genius who spent so much time working on their plans they forgot about their book deal, which is still a funnier concept than anything I read in that book.

I just finished the episode myself. It was nice to see Flycatcher, it's the one character from the comics I remember (I don't know why though) and...

Heh, that is kinda hilariously weird, has Vampirella ever even been good? Even in a cheesy way? I've not enjoyed the few issues I picked up from sales.

I beat Earth Defense Force 2025 and while I enjoyed it a lot, I'm not sure I like all the changed they did to the game. 85 missions?! Are they crazy? The last was "just" 60 and while it wasn't a slog, it did feel longer than necessary, they added a few more classes and a few enemies, maybe an actual new map with more detail, but if you play as a character you know, if felt like the exact same game, I don't think I a got a single new weapon and playing as anything that isn't a Pale Wing seems like pain movement-wise. I know this is cheesy "cheap" game in the same camp as Dynasty Warriors, but even a new DW game feels more different than this and they are literally retelling the same story with each game. At the same time, I don't know what I would have wanted from this game. Definitely not 30% missions and I definitely don't like that they took the Godzilla like monster and replaced it with plain old dragons, which kinda break the whole alien bug menace theme, maybe the kaiju did a bit too, but it was just one giant monster, not a swarm of tiny ones.

I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but I just came from the used electronic store and saw a Google Nexus 7 (32G) for 150€ used, my tablet is only a few years old, but it looks like a tempting offer... is it? (It is a gaming system... kinda...)

For show with an episode titled "Swimsuit Fanservice" Sakura Trick was pretty low on fanservice, that is, not counting the yuri kissing. Frankly, the couple is adorkable at how innocent they are... I really don't have anything to watch now though. :|

It's too late since the sale is over, but I loved what I've read of Hellboy so far! I like that it's mostly short stories and apart from one saga that's a part of several short stories, you could pick up any issue and not worry about what's going on. Was the homunculus in the movies? The mist man appears, but I don't remember his original, maybe his original was in the B.R.P.D. comics? I think the homuculus is more active there too, but I'm not sure.

I was just about to start reading the Hellboy comics from the last Dark Horse sale and now they have The Goon sale... And Comixology is having an Oni Press sale, I'm at least getting Wet Moon. There is also a Mad Magazine sale of only the first 23 issues, I'm not sure I'd get the references, but boy do I love the style these comics had back then, has anybody read early Mad Magazines? They seem to be before my time and the humor is pretty referential. :|

Kim & Clint Hocking their Swiftboat down the Amazon

I just realized, since this is like one of those Roku box and it's main appeal is accessing US only content, I don't think it will even be on sale in countries that don't have services like Netflix. By the way, don't most US TV come with some sort of way to access stuff like Netflix directly without any additional hardware? Then again at this price, if you have a TV that doesn't have Netflix, this is cheaper than buying one with it integrated and if you have a TV with this kind of hardware... You have more than one tablet device and can afford this easily.
