Lumberjanes #1 is free TODAY ONLY at Comixology! Too bad I bought it and haven't even read it yet, that's when it really hurts. XP

Ugh, another month were I either already own the game or don't care about it...

Today I finished Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (For the Frog the Bell Tolls), a forgotten Gameboy game that is similar to Link's Awakening, but came before it... I have no idea why we had to wait for a fan translation, this game didn't seem to have anything controversial or copyright infringing like the other games Nintendo never published. Maybe it didn't sell well enough in Japan and that's why they never released it worldwide? Any game were all battles are "cartoon dust clouds" is cool in my book!

She smokes them. for the same reason Bigby smokes Huffn'puff cigarettes. Am I the only one who hoped to see some Banang in the drink section of the Butcher's shop?

I just beat the chapter today and:

I just beat Violett, an adventure game that I think was Kickstarted? Or was that the Lilly one? They are both so similar in their "Alice in Wonderland" vibe I can't tell... In this one, Violett acquires telekinetic powers, which ruin the game in the sense that how powerful you are depends on the puzzle, sometimes you carry heavy objects a long distance, sometimes you are forced to pick them up manually... It's quite frustrating, specially since all the puzzle are mostly trial and error. The girl can float and move objects with her mind, but the game always makes us do everything the hard way. It's like playing an adventure game with Superman, you know he can punch the door down of fly over a chasm, but the game has a convoluted puzzle.. and no excuse to NOT use the powers, nope, just do it the hard way, because adventure games. You also gain more powers that are needed in a final boss fight, I hope you clicked on the hidden orbs because those indicate how much you can use them, the boss was pretty annoying specially knowing it was added TO AN ADVENTURE GAME, because some said they wanted one.

I played one of those "dating sims" called "Duplicity", which is pretty bad and pretty dumb, but also fortunately very short. Most of these games are about time management, raising stats and unlocking events. This game has only two bars, health and skill, yes, you heard, there is only ONE skill bar and it's only needed for one of the people you can date, and there are only two people you can date. The best part? The game states that you are a doctor's assistant who is dating his clone... for science? So technically you are only dating one person? The game insists it has several endings, but this game isn't worth the effort, thank God it's from a bundle. It was fun in a cheesy way at least. XP

I finally beat the last Deponia game and well, it's more or less the perfect end to the series? In this game I had to do some truly despicable things, but in this game I finally realized that is is I, THE PLAYER the one responsible for the horrible things happening, Rufus either is too ignorant or unaware to know that he's doing something horrible. It's also full of examples of great cartoon logic, the only downside is the ending....

If memory serves me well you do eventually don't feel broke, but I can't remember when though.

I beat Escape Goat 2, I only rescued the exact amount of sheep to escape because the extra dungeons are just ridiculous. It adds quite a few new power ups, but they are only used in the level you find them, which I guess is good? It's more Escape Goat with extra goat cheese, so that's good?

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I really tried to give Wizardry 8 a chance... I completed a whole dungeon and beat some hard bosses and was doing so well, only to completely get lost and lose interest the moment I arrived at the city. The fact that the enemies respawned and got stronger with you didn't help either. -
So I just watched the first episode of the original Sailor Moon subbed... So many emotions and nostalgia, either I'm a total fanboy or this show is still amazing. After seeing how terrible the original US version is I kinda want to watch it too, but since we are getting the old series redubbed, that would mean I would end up watch the show three times? Not a bad thing, but probably not good for my sanity. XP

The first issue dropped in price, so I got it, I can't wait to read it! :3 Comixology should have a subscription method that instead of buying the newest issue, it wait until the obligatory price drop after a month or two.

I 100% Saints Row IV, I did all the mission and got every collectible... I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a "AAA" game this much... It's better than Blood Dragon at riffing the 80's and 90's and it makes fun of games in general in good way, making fun and praising them at the same time, although mostly this game seems to be making fun of Mass Effect... After seeing the ending, I'm hoping the make fun of Assassin's Creed in the next game, if they ever make one. It did feel like a bit sloggy at the end with so many missions before the finale, but the moment it did feel like a slog, the game just stopped being a slog and let the ending sequence begin.

Nanoblocks looks like 3D pixel art, which is kinda awesome! :3

I just beat all the game from the Adventure Game Studio Bake Sale II, mind you, these are still hobbyist adventure game makers trying to make money to pay for server costs, so don't expect a Wadjeteye good game here... At the same time, this time the bundle is tiny and only has four games: -BEER!: Kinda Wario-esque find the beer minigames, kinda dumb? -THAT DAMN DOG!: The game presents itself as a sitcom and looks decent enough for an AGS game, the main character is the awful, fat, dumb sterotypical buy who is usually the main protagonist in most sitcoms, although without any charm (they were supposed to have some charm, right?). Lots of canned laughter, jokes "worthy" of a sitcom and "hilarious" antics... -Blue Lobe Inc: This game is kinda meta since about a group of AGS members trying to finish a game for their Kickstarter, it has a lot of adventure game jokes and it's weird how the arty style is so... so-so, when the art of the game you make (and get to play) looks almost like a decent Lucasarts game. You'll probably find it amusing if you like adventure games enough? -2034 AC 2 (After Canada): A post apocalyptic game that takes place in Canada, were nothing has changed and things are kinda boring and everybody is nice.. unless you talk ill of their hockey team that is. This was my favorite of the bunch, it's about a Mountie woman who secrets finds her job boring so she daydreams that the apocalypse did actually affect Canada and she's some bad ass mofo. It's also the perfect representation of Canada where every house is an igloo and other stereotypes.

Ah, now I get what the latest Shortpacked was talking about... I'm not sure if this is so bad it's good or just plain traumatic? They won't give Wonder Woman her own movie, but turn her into a spider monster? SURE! XP

I'm completely new to LEGO, but I noticed that the Disney Princess set characters are just the same as LEGO Friends, the "girl" sets, because the heads aren't compatible with normal LEGO minifigs and are much larger. Aren't the Disney Princess sets brand new? I assume we'll get more later, I would love to build the Ice Castle from Frozen.

I didn't know we had a LEGO thread! I've been playing the games for ages, but it wasn't until the movie came out that I actually bothered to buy some real LEGOs. If you can't tell by my new avatar, I'm really into them now. I actually bought the giant Monster Hunter mansion very recently, they still have it at the LEGO store... I don't think I'll even buy anything so big again, it was a nightmare to find a place to display it. I also got two sets from the movie and used the spare parts to create "Unitron" a fabulous robo-skeleton: You can order pieces directly from the LEGO store, which is nice if you want to create your own thing, but I'm sure there are some you can't get anywhere unless you buy the whole set.... :| Where do you store the spare pieces you get from sets? I don't even that many can the tiny tin box I have for them is getting pretty full.

Well, I finished the final chapter of Dragon Fantasy and I can tell there is more story after this, but... it just doesn't exist yet? I also noticed that you can only get the first two chapters on 3DS and Vita and only in the US... Did they give up because of poor sales? It's a pretty fun series, so it would be sad to not see the true ending. I also beat Daedalic's 1954 Alcatraz, which I think is their first Noir game... I'm not even sure if I should call it Noir, though. It's about Joe who is is Alcatraz trying to escape and get the money from the heist that got him in there and Christine, his wife, who is a beatnik trying to help him get out. The game lays the beatnik a bit thick when you play as her, I only know some lingo from OOOOOLD cartoons, but the artists they mentioned could be made up and I wouldn't know, so I guess I'm a square? The game sure does make Christine prove how "hip" she is a lot to advance the story. You can betray each other, get people killed or kill them yourself, I don't think you can beat the game in a "clean" way.

I beat the Android version of Giana Sisters, which has improved graphics over the iOS one I played and frankly, is better than the Giana Sisters game I Kickstarted, I also did a lot better than on the iOS version since I unlocked all the secret worlds. It actually works with a controllers, but to pull the incredibly hard jumps I felt I could only do them with the touch controls, which is something I never thought I'd say. I really don't know what to think of Puppeteer, is it a kid's game with "jokes" adults would enjoy? It had a "double teaming" joke and it's so culturally insensitive that if we took out the gameplay and left it as a movie I can imagine an angry internet reviewer tearing it apart, they just don't shut up and are as subtle as a bazooka, like having a wanted sign of the hero just to make an "Infamous" joke" and having a giant enemy crab boss for well... you know... The game play isn't that interesting either, the only interesting gimmick is the scissors, which let you "climb cut" up things and some pretty generic poweups. I guess the humor in the cutscenes really got on my nerves, it was far from as bad a Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer movie, but boy did I have to skip a lot of them to not make me quit. I LOVE puns but some of the "punny" achievement names were just... UGH! I also beat a few "chapters" of Dragon Fantasy, an 8-bit game that's kinda like Dragon Quest, the first chapter is the only one that feels like a "full" thing, I haven't played the last chapter, but it's clear they intended to make a finale chapter with all characters from the previous chapters come together to fight a big baddie, instead... we get our heroes trapped on a Minecraft server where they can capture monsters like Pokémon and give them diamond gear you mine yourself... even if the monster you capture has no limbs.

I just completed the Android version of Giana Sisters... it looks amazing and frankly, I like it better than the one I Kickstarted, it's "legit" hard and not "I Want to Be The Guy" hard, it has a lot of very tough parts, instead of just "do this perfectly for 20 minutes or die" like the "new" game does. Hmm, if Republique does come out on Android, I wonder if I can ask the Kickstarter to change the pledge to the Android version, because I don't know when or IF we'll ever get the PC version. :|

I'm debating whether to get the Banner Saga or not... I'm slowing getting into strategy games, I usually could only play Civ, but now I can kinda play Age of Empires II HD, since The Banner Saga is turned based, I might actually dare play it. I'm still on my strategy training wheels here. :|
