Does anybody recommend "My Brother, My Brother and Me" to someone who just caught up on the Adventure Zone and loves it?

I recently beat Stories of Bethem: Fool Moon Edition, a Zelda-like game that's more puzzle focused and used magic spells instead of swords. Some of the puzzles are slightly devious, putting a box you need to push behind a tree, but the puzzles were enjoyable all the way to the end. I enjoyed collecting every secret, opening every chest. This probably the only Zelda like game I've 100%ed ever, which shows how much I liked it. The flaws are mostly in the combat, since the enemy AI is bare bones, boring, yet frustrating at some times.

I beat a few Halloweeny games: Monster High: New Ghoul in School: All I'll say is that I saved the world with cheer... I mean FEAR-leading and looking fang-tastic while I did it. Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove: An adorably "creepy-cute" rhythm game about a girl who sneezed so hard she came out of her body! Zombie Incident: This game won an MSX gamedev contest before becoming a 3DS game, it's a simple platform where you jump on zombies until the die and you level up, you can destroy a zombie that's a higher level than you. The Last Crown: Midnight Horror: I think this game was just a short promotion game for an upcoming or existing game. You ghost hunt on Halloween?

Wow, Hausu is the BEST Halloween movie that I watched today, how can you even top such a crazy movie! I LOVE IT!

Has anybody played "Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX"? It's on sale for the 3DS and the "Wonderland" is title already makes me want it.

I just finished Corpse Party: Blood Drive, just in time for the Steam Halloween Sale and with it, the Corpse Party trilogy and while I loved it, once again, it's one of those games you can't talk about without spoiling much, SPECIALLY since the first game just came out for 3DS, just explaining anything about the plot would ruin the first game. What I can say, is that I kinda like what they added, it returns to it's more "adventure-y" origins and has you walk around the haunted school, which now has traps set by vengeful ghosts and the ghosts themselves who can and will chase you. The game has a flashlight with a limited battery system, which you'll need to avoid traps while running from ghosts, but you know what? Just press Select and the batteries will NEVER die. Like the original game, it's in chapters filled with "bad ends" and extra chapters to learn a little more about the characters. I still have some extra chapters to dig through to get some extra info on the characters, but I'm pretty satisfied with the end of the series.

Does anybody know if there is going to be a Halloween sale on Steam? I'd hate to buy a "SPOOPY" game only to have it got 50% off the next day.

Wow, you guys should really try out Alone With You, from the same guy who made Home. It's "sci-fi romance adventure", where you're the last human on a planet where colonization wen't pretty bad. The resident A.I. is doing it's best to get you off the planet and sends you off to other parts of the colony to get parts or data to help the ship's construction. What makes it different from other games is that the computer is running a holo-deck like place were back-ups of some of the best scientists are still working on schematics and data to help you escape and to have someone to talk to and who knows maybe even fall in love? It's also an adventure, but the puzzles are usually just finding passwords or items to open something.

Hmm, when I read "skeeve" I thought you meant "creepy", maybe I'll just get Corpse Party Blood Drive instead.... it's more horror themed, AFAIK.

Devil Survivor Overclocked is super cheap in the Halloween eShop, does anybody vouch for it? I've only play Persona games, so I'm not sure I'll like this Shin Megami game.

Promoting a book is weird, most people won't promote you unless you get a few reviews, but how do you get your reviews without promotion? Kindle doesn't let me gift books unless I pay for them?
  12. Plug your shit

My precious baby book is finally for sale on Kindle! It's about what happens when Halloween lasts a whole and when demons go viral! It has family of demons possessing a kitten, Pomeranian, a monster fashion doll and a Casio Loopy fumbling around trying to claim their owner's soul to get stronger. I'd be very grateful if you shared the link and spread the word.

I just got Jaehee's good ending in Mystic Messenger, a very unique otome VN/social sim since it's in REAL TIME! While you can pay with the in-game currency for what you missed, if you missed a call or chat room, the story goes on without you... What's the story? You find a strange app that leads to the RFA association, where they hire you to deal with getting guests for a party. While their personal private chat room, people will suggest guests for the party, who will email you if you agree. The guest's email are mostly a test, some will ask questions from their field, while one chauffeur asked me advice in how to reconnect with his son for some reason. While in the chat room, replying to the RFA members give you hearts which will lead you to their story line. The game does have some issues, you need the in-game currency to unlock some story routes and even worse, to see the "after ending", a.k.a. the real ending and what you want to see. The game starts using not that much space, but it keeps downloading more data as the story progresses and I heard you could need 1.5 to see everything. While I enjoyed the game... I'm not sure if I like the real time VN approach to see the other endings, I suppose most people just pay money to get as many hourglasses as you can?

I made a playlist of SPOOPY level themes! If anybody know any good spoopy level themes I should add, please tell me! :3
  15. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I quit From Dust, which I just got from PSN+, it started like an almost Zen-like game, but got frustrating very quick. After a volcano level which I constantly had to tend to send the lava away from the villages, I got a dessert level with "water sources". I lifted some dirt and water started spouting from under it, I tried cover it up again only to uncover more water, meanwhile, my AI villagers struggled getting to the next village due their poor "pathing", so yeah, I gave up. Unless this game has a more Zen-like mode to play with, I'm not bothering with it again.

I just beat Actual Sunlight, one of the most depressing and bleak games I've ever played... and it's PSN+ game. Did Sony want all their users to feel depressed? It's a game about a suicidal man and going through his daily thought was incredibly difficult. It may be the shortest game on PSN, but it feels longer due to how bloody bleak it is... I almost wanted to take a break halfway through it since it's just so... harrowing?

I finally completed Amnesia: Memories, it's an "otome" VN about a girl who lost her memories when a spirit bumped into her and now the spirit is doing it's best to help you get your memories back. As you play each timeline you get small hints on what is really happening until you unlock a final one where everything starts to make sense. I can't really talk about it without spoiling the plot but...

I think I'm done with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer? I got some ending credits and I've lost all motivation to continue. This won't last as much as a normal AC game since when you're done for the day, the next day starts immediately. Not only does the game let you go away with putting no effort, which mean you could just open their boxes and they'll say you're the best designer ever. Another thing that annoyed me was when a client asked for a underwater themed house and didn't unlock any special furniture that I know exists because he has some in boxes. It's fun for a few hours when you build restaurants and hospitals, but once that's done, I couldn't think of a reason to continue, I guess that's why the credits roll when you build the last building. Oh, another thing that annoyed me is that you can build as many houses in the same lot and they don't overwrite each other, they somehow exist in the same place...

I just beat Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze... *curls up into fetal position and cries* I really loved it, but at the same time I kinda never want to see it again? Each level and world felt very distinct from each other, sometimes even to it's own detriment... Why is there only ONE "musical" level where everything moves to the beat? The giant fruit level was my favorite, as you get closer to the final area, the fruit juices freeze and the levels become giant ice lollies. The game was terrible at motivating me to collect anything that wasn't bananas, coins or 1ups, and the shop never really really motivated me to buy anything that wasn't a 1up... I never needed anything else. While I must admit I probably dies 50 times in the final levels in total, I had so many coins I could afford it. I'm really debating whether to keep it? Just by thinking of the final levels, I don't want to even touch it, but I still like it?

Does anybody know if the event courses go away with time? That's my top priority now. I want to play all the ones that unlock characters.
  21. Nintendo 3DS

I just got a used New 3DS (that sounds weird) and... it reeks of smoke and the stylus has been chewed on? I loaded Nintendo Badge Arcade and the difference in loading time was HUGE! Also, I can finally scan amiibo! Also, I'm excited about face plates! :3 The truth is... I got some credit from a used game store and could afford a PS4, but... is it sad or weird that I chose the New 3DS instead just to play SNES classics.... I probably own already physically? I wish Nintendo would discount SNES game you already own on WiiU, like they did when you owned them on the Wii, but maybe if I keep buying Earthbound, Mother 3 will come out?
  22. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

I just got Super Mario Maker! I only played a little (an unlocked amiibo stuff), so... I have to keep making levels to unlock tools and playing to unlock characters, right? Do we have a thread for sharing levels?

I just beat Legend of Kay Anniversary... an unremarkable PS2 platformer updated for newer systems. Well, maybe it is remarkable for having "races" like every PS2 platform game from that, but no frustrating? It's mostly squandered opportunities. I had too much money and nothing to spend it on since I can only carry a few items with me, you get different weapons, but no reason to use them, I'm pretty sure I never needed the claws and the hammer should only be used on the few stone enemies that appear, since it's too slow to work well on anything else. The game has hidden "demon gates", but they don't really seem to serve a purpose except to get a better score since I got every upgrade and never found any of these gates. Speaking of the scoring system it's only purpose is too unlock concept art. The bosses were almost boring except for the final one and in the end, the game neither disappoints or impresses. Come to think of it, the story is terrible, the keep talking about "The Way" their people have forgotten and talking about some magical wells that... never get restored and "The Way" isn't really resotered either. The bad guys speak of the "Din", which is never explained either. And there is also the part of the plot were they insist the volcano is about to blow and bring tragedy, while the game ends in the volcano, nobody mentions it's status at all and forget about the possible eruption. Who cares about "The Way" or the volcano, the bad guys were defeated... although since they planned on betraying each other... Kay, the hero, doesn't even seem to be needed in this story?
  25. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I give up on Mana Khemia, I liked the story and characters and I even liked it's weird alchemy upgrade system, where you must synthesize certain items to unlock upgrade slots, but that meant you can't really grind and when I encountered a boss that fell in the category of "I think I can do this, but I don't want to", the battle was long and annoying... So I just watched the ending on YouTube. *shrugs*
