  1. General Video Game Deals Thread

I think I'd rather save up for a WiiU instead, Steam Sale are more common than the current Mario Kart 8 free game promo. :|
  2. General Video Game Deals Thread

It seems the dreaded Steam Summer Sale is coming!
  3. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Sweet! And just how many of the WiiU games can be bought digitally? I was looking up the Mario Kart 8 Promo and Pikmin 3 seems to be out of stock everywhere which would make the choice easier, unless I can just buy it digitally? Then again, I assume you can buy all the games from that list digitally.
  4. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Hmm, with a little luck I might have enough sooner than I thought? I won't need anything else if I just buy the premium pack that comes with MK 8, right? How necessary is the pro controller?
  5. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

While it's likely that we'll get a Skylander/Amiibo styled game, I wonder if it also means that some of these will get a WiiU game? Like Animal Crossing WiiU?
  6. Nintendo 3DS

I guess it's like Rune Factory without the farming? Wait, wouldn't that make it just a normal JRPG?
  7. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Yeah, so I'm also in the E3 made me want an WiiU camp. The Mario Kart 8 offer that gives you a free game will still go for a month or two, right? I might be able to afford a WiiU by then, or worst case scenario, I buy MK 8 and then the WiiU when I have more money? I couldn't find a Mario Kart 8 thread so.... If I'm semi-decent at the Sonic All-Star Racing games, do I stand a chance at Mario Kart? Maybe I should by another bundle and then look for a demo before buying it. :|

I beat Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden another "Hidden Object Game" that's more adventure than hidden object that happens to be from the same company that I praised recently from making a pretty darn good hidden object game. This one... is bio-shockingly familiar? I still had a lot of fun with it, you can skip puzzles you don't like, you can play a dominos game if you don't like the hidden object part... It's pretty nice.
  9. Grim Fandango being remastered for PS4 and Vita

I wonder if this means we'll get the more of the Lucasarts games on Vita and PS4 "exclusively"? Would it be strange for them to just get Grim Fandango? There are still a few Lucasarts games you can't get legally apart from Grim Fandango.
  10. Grim Fandango being remastered for PS4 and Vita

Remind me again how long did we have to wait for Brütal Legend to be released on PC?
  11. Grim Fandango being remastered for PS4 and Vita

I missed the Sony E3 conference and when I heard about this I thought it was a joke at first. Please, please, please, remove the tank controls.... That's all I ask for! This is the first Double Fine game for Vita, right?
  12. Nintendo 3DS

Pushmo/Crashmo seems like the kind of game I'd play for several levels only to get stuck and then give up because I don't want to use a walkthrough for every level. Specially since if I play them on my summer vacation I won't even have access to the internet for help. :|
  13. Nintendo 3DS

I don't know if this is an EU thing only, but I see a special eShop sale with HomeTown Story for 20€, Project X Zone for 17,50€, Adventure Time, the one with the long name that's about dungeon exploring for 9,99€ Regular Show for the same price, the new Pac-Man 17.50€, One Piece Romance Dawn for 15€... I know I'll probably get at least a couple of these for my summer vacation. Which ones do you think are worth it?

I finally bothered to finish "Spirited Hearts Deluxe", I guess it's Winter Wolves first "Otome" game, and you can tell, you barely interact with your love interests, but at least the deluxe version has a special secret goal presented by a Goddess if you reach a certain point in the game.... This ending was much more satisfying that marrying a character I barely talked to.

I beat Sniper Ghost Warrior and Sniper Elite V2 and.... despite Elite VII being superior in visuals and well, everything... I like Sniper Ghost Warrior since it's more stealthy and it does take place in destroyed urban environments, but mostly in a jungle. Sure, the bullet cam is Elite is cool and kinda morbid, but I just liked hiding in the bushes in Ghost Warrior. You can be stealthy in Elite, but it's different and too frustrating, and can't be done that often.
  16. Video Game Baby - Idle Parents

I just found out my nephew is coming tomorrow, he's about old enough to play Putt-Putt and likes Pixar's cars, so I thought I'd let him play while i guide him? He's almost five, so he should be able to handle it, right? How to encourage him to go on? He's never played an adventure game before, so he might not get it. :|
  17. I've been trying to find books about the history of inventions, but the ones I've found seem to prefer to talk about the industrial era. I was hoping to find a book that went back as far as possible, hopefully to as far back as pottery and written language? I'd rather have a book that went through more history and was less thorough than a very detailed one that only talked about the more "popular" inventions. Frankly, I think I'd almost prefer a book about the first inventions from the dawn of civilization. Pottery and irrigation!

Is this an error or a promo for Sniper Elite 3? EDIT: Yeah, it's a promo for Sniper Elite V3, which is fortuitous for me since I just beat Sniper Ghost Warrior 1 & 2, I'm in the mood for more sniper games.
  19. Lego is Still Cool

I couldn't resist getting this LEGO set with a dragon, but it expected me to simply put the princess in a cell as a prize for the knight... So she took the whole place instead!

I beat Dreamkiller, a game I don't know why I quit, because frankly, I kinda enjoyed it a lot and it's like a mashup of Pyschonauts and Serious Sam. You enter peoples dream's to fight their fears, each level is mostly unique (the final levels are like a best of, but still), the nightmares of a guy with fear of height have you climbing a never ending tower with workers and some cloud demons, an actor is afraid of kids and the level is full of nightmarish toys. The weapons are pretty interesting too, but probably show the only downside, I BEAT the game, and I think the only way to know how much ammo you have before you reload is by visual cues? And I couldn't pick up the cues for some weapons. I think the reason the game got panned because it was so poorly optimized that you needed a pretty good computer back then to get it to work, when it didn't look like it needed that much. *shrugs*
  21. Video Game Baby - Idle Parents

My nephew didn't seem to get Putt-Putt and he's 5, should I be worried? D:

Well, I beat Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 and... I kinda really liked it, it's like a stealth game with no gadgets, just a sniper rifle and a silenced pistol... The fact that you can shoot grenades on soldiers belts was kinda cool too. I wasn't even upset when I lost my guns... TWICE, that usually annoys me, even in stealth games. I played FarCry 3 basically as a sniper, maybe I like sniper games now? Does anybody recommend any sniper game that isn't just Sniper Ghost Warrior One?

I beat a few more indie bundle games: -Alien Rage: Unlimited: It's a pretty generic shooter, despite it's low score my main critique about the game was the perk system, it's so hard to get them and the reward doesn't seem to merit the effort. It has a bunch of relatively subtle game references, the game has some gears only to make a subtle Gears of War reference. The bosses were brutal, but fun... The fact that I managed to finish a shooter much mean it's half decent, right? I usually hate them. -Fearless Fantasy: A short RPG that skips all the dungeons and towns is just a few waves of enemies and some story before the next wave of enemies. It plays a bit like a Mario RPG in the sense that you have to do some special mouse gesture to make you attack more powerful and defend. -Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi: I kinda posted this in the "quitter's" thread, only to give it another chance and figure out what I did wrong. The Count has captured your family and friends and you must rescue them because with each of their deaths, Malachi will become stronger, if too many die, he will become invincible and you lose the game. The game is semi randomly generated? The castle is always the same, but the locations of people to rescue, keys and other items change each time, some things are on a timer. At the very start you meet a priest that is injured and you must rescue a doctor to heal him. Rescuing your friends not only makes the final boss weaker, but they always reward you with something useful. I only had one more member to rescue and I gave up on him, only to find him on the way to final boss and then I found out you can only fight the final boss at dawn, but since I rescued everybody it magically became dawn.
  24. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

For the first time, I kinda rage quit a game, it was more a "this is futile and a waste of time", but I guess this will be the closest to me rage quitting a game. The game is called "Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi" a game where the castle is always the same, but the item location changes... For once, I was able to rescue a doctor to heal the wounded priest who gave me a chalice for holy water, which meant I could now finally take on a boss that had another hostage to rescue. He died quickly and then... turned into bats. I'm stuck until I kill all the bats because the boss locked me in with a key, but the bats have random patterns and even if I had a ranged weapon if would be futile with their random pattern and quick speed. It's so stupid because they die in one hit, but hitting them is so frustrating and you are playing on a time limit... Or maybe the key is somewhere around there and I can't find it, I've spent way too much time doing both things and failing. I give up...
  25. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

I read the previous Sabrina comic because I was a fan of the artist, Tania Del Rio.... I have no idea what she's up to now. :| It was manga styled and pretty "shojo", but I liked it?
