  1. Feminism

Like I said before, I'm baffled people could enjoy the podcast and have these kind of opinions, but I guess misogynists will delude themselves into thinking anything to suit their views. I couldn't muster the strength to read the full article about the iCould debacle, the title was depressing enough.

Are you talking about the iCloud hack? I just found and I'm not really sure happened, I think they stole private pic from women and posted them online? As if I wasn't already disgusted enough with all that's happening.
  3. Feminism

How did we get anybody bad enough to mute here? I can't imagine being a fan of the podcast (or the old site) being as bad as this Fart guy, don't tell me we actually got a MRA or two here?
  4. Books, books, books...

Has anybody bought the latest Humble Book Bundle? I only know of American Gods and I was curious about the rest.
  5. Feminism

Wait, wait.... "PressFartToContinue"? I kinda know that him/her.... he/she's constantly posting on GameGrumps and a few other videos and apparently "Fart" is an attention seeker so bad Fart's been banned from from a few YouTube channels for harassing and being a jerk.
  6. Feminism

We're talking about the people who were surprised to find out JOSS WHEDON was a feminist.... Out of touch doesn't even begin to cover it. Although I must admit I didn't realize this made by them and it's not satire at first too, and I had to Google "TORtanic", it looks like has to do with Star Wars game, but I don't get it.

I beat Whispering Willows, you play as a girl who can astral project herself as a ghost that can talk to other ghosts and possess items to move them. And that's basically all there is to the game, you slowly make your way through an abandoned mansion using your ghost power looking for your father and you slowly uncover the morbid story of the mansion and it's inhabitants and despite the puzzles being almost too simple, I enjoyed exploring the mansion, talking to ghosts and learning about their past. And almost every ghost is grotesque deformed depending on how they died, or probably just to give you the jibblies and so they can this a horror game. I don't know if this game is an OUYA port or if it was just developed for both systems at the same time, but that would explain the Amazing Frog Easter egg and the OUYA logo in the middle of a corridor. Hmm, what ever happened to the OUYA?
  8. Spoiled for choice: adrift in a sea of games

Frankly, I've always thought the bigger the library, the more likely it is that a big chunk of it is actually not worth playing, making it easier to decide. The chances of owning 250 games and having them all be pure gold gaming goodness is pretty much 0%, I'm not saying you should skip games that aren't the best around, but if you think about what you like or dislike in certain games, it should make it easier to separate the wheat from the chaff. Play a few shorter games first, and if you have a game you don't play for the challenge, playing it on an easier setting will shave a very noticeable time off the time of completion and there are so many games without difficultly settings to make up for it. I also like to wait for the price to drop, since it gives you time to beat your other games and it lets the hype die down. It wouldn't the first time a game that everybody loved a game on day one was hated a month later. Also it's incredibly frustrating to see you haven't even touched a game and it's already 50% off the price you originally bought it, so I rarely buy AAA games at full price.
  9. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I'm quitting Betrayer, it's a strange black & white game that takes place in more or less Colonial America, where you fight some strange Conquistadors, that I'm not sure if they are possessed or just evil spirits? I made it to a fort with a bell that takes to the underworld version of the fort where you talk to ghosts, since the only ghost I saw wanted me to find his wife and child I thought that was objective for the area, but not only was it optional, but I also got no rewards from helping this ghost or a new one that appeared all of the sudden. Navigating the ghost world is annoying since you have to "hear" the ghosts to know where they are, thank God you can just activate a mode where it made the sound location more visual, but it's still kinda bad. By the time I had finally reached the next area, instead of feeling excitement I just thought of how tedious the game had become and just gave up, specially since it looked like more of the same.
  10. Nintendo 3DS

I'm kinda glad I got a Wii U then, because there is no way I'm buying a new 3DS system for just Smash Bros. I'm pretty I managed to skip the DSi system and I'm hoping I'll be able to skip this one or at least make it a more justifiable purchase. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who won't buy a system for just one game, no matter how good that game may be. And the 3DS can play GBA games because that's what you got for the Ambassador Program.
  11. Feminism

I don't see how abandoning the term "gamer" will do anything to stop this toxic environment, but I do remember that this seems to happen every time trolls from a certain group do something horrible, people just want to abandon the "group" as if that will somehow make the bad people go away. It feels like we want to distance ourselves from the problem instead of confronting it. I remember pretty recently when many people wanted to abandon the term nerd after some awful harassment in a con, instead they started the "Cosplay is not Consent" campaign, which seems to be helping, at least people are now more appalled when a creeper tries something with a cosplayer, which is a step in the right direction. I don't even know how to start a campaign, but I'm pretty sure it's better to make the MRA man babies aware that we will stand for their atrocious conduct instead of telling people to stop using a word, seriously, the MRA won't magically go away if we stop using the term "gamer".
  12. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

You mean the crazy final levels you get for collecting everything? I wouldn't blame you for not beating them, I can't even be bothered to collect all the green stars.
  13. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

I was just about to ask how DLC works with the Wii U... I'm still pretty new to it, but is this the first Wii U game with DLC? EDIT: I just looked up the prices for the Ubi Wii U games... they are still cheaper on sale, and with premium account I'm likely to get a 10€ discount coupon with the purchases I make?
  14. Feminism

I don't know if I never posted in this thread before, but this has gone from upsetting to downright disgusting and it's just too much... At first it was almost cute to see the man babies upset to find out people like Josh Whedon suddenly found out he was a feminist, but as time passed it... just became disturbing and disgusting. All I can hope is that these man babies that are threatening Anita are all bark and no bite, which is also messed up, speaking of which, I'm pretty sure the anti-Anita fundraiser/KS won't be taken down and all I can hope for is that they don't reach their goal. I don't even dare to find out what the Anti-Anita fundraiser is about... I guess it's about videos exposing her "lies" and "conspiracies", but I also heard one of the rewards was game were you beat her up... so yeah, once again, this is just messed up and disgusting...
  15. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

I wonder if the new courses will appear in new cups? It would be nice to have new race cups instead of single courses. I've heard some say this is turning into Smash Bros. Racing, which would be awesome! I've been looking up the Wii U sale that ends today and I wonder... How good was Zombi U? While I'm not sure if my PC can run AssCred Black Flag, I kinda don't want to deal with Ubi's DRM anyway, so is the Wii U Black Flag any good? Is anything in the Ubi sale in general worth getting?
  16. Walking Dead Season the Second

  17. Walking Dead Season the Second

I really hope they wrap up things in the next season, if there is a fourth one, I don't think I'll be able to care about it. I don't know about you guys, but when it comes to more dramatic stories, the longer they get, the more I lose interest in them.
  18. Walking Dead Season the Second

I'm not sure I'm looking forward to a new season, if every Telltale game from now on is going to be a "Bad Decision Simulator", it's going to get old fast. I really hope the Borderlands game will be at least a comedic "Bad Decision Simulator" to have some variety, specially since it's already to feel like a "Incredibly Forced Bad Decision Simulator".
  19. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Comixology is having a "Leading Ladies of Boom! Comics" sale, with stuff like Lumberjanes, Bee & Puppycat, Jake & Fiona, Marceline and the Scream Queens... Sounds pretty good to me, although I don't know anything about the other comics on sale.
  20. anime

I don't really know if this belongs in this thread, but I watched the live action Sailor Moon show, even the movie special and... boy is it different! It's closer to a "Power Rangers/Zentai(?)" style show with lots of explosions, decent fight choreography and by the end they show even has low level "putties/cronies". It mixes well the drama and the comedy, except when the drama goes on overdrive and it's hilarious? The plot changes drastically from both the manga and the anime, some characters act different, some look VERY different but I still enjoyed it a lot. I also started to watch Silver Spoon, which is a pretty charming and funny show so far?
  21. Sierra is back.. sort of..

We're talking video games, of course fans will be upset, it's what video games fans do! What else have they done besides that P.B. Winterbottom game? They don't seem that experienced, so it's kinda weird to see them handling King's Quest all of the sudden. Although I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time a small company with only a few games under their belt have dealt with a relatively popular I.P., it's still weird to me.
  22. Sierra is back.. sort of..

Frankly, I do care more for the creators than the titles, I've at least liked almost all of Jane Jensen work, while I don't remember anybody saying anything nice about the LSL remake or The Silver Lining or the Quest for Infamy fan sequels... Also, you're right! I completely forgot about the Two Guys From Andromeda, I guess I'm really that not into Sierra anymore. I've also seen that when some people are nostalgic about Sierra games, they DEFEND how B.S. unfair and illogical they can get, which makes wary of any game made for Sierra fans. Wanna bet some fans will be angry if DOESN'T have a ton of un-winnable scenarios? Hmm, since the article mentions Graham telling various tales to his granddaughter, so the game might be episodic, but that's all I can guess, I'm curious if it will be a "hardcore" (a.k.a. broken and unfair) adventure pandering to old school Sierra fans only or will be more like a normal adventure, or something more narrative driven like a Telltale game? Or maybe something completely different? I don't like that we don't even have an alpha screenshot or some visual tidbit to tantalize the fans, all we have is the logo. :|
  23. Recently completed video games

Well, I beat the Vita version of Broken Sword V and... I don't think the Vita is that great for adventure game, even though I played Broken Sword I on the GBA, maybe they didn't optimize this enough? All I really wanted was a zoom feature, even with the feature that lights up hot spots when you get close to them if the hot spots are close, it's rather hard to choose which to use. As for the game play, it feels like they found a perfect spot to end Episode One, but Episode Two feels to short. It feel pandering in a weird way, Paris, England, Spain and the Middle East seem to be the only places a Broken Sword game can take place and almost half the cast are people from precious games... The game literally has a "honey cat stache" puzzle, except this time it's OK, because she's drunk? *shrugs* But you can no longer say it's worst puzzle ever, it felt even more forces in this case, maybe they were making fun of those who hated that puzzle? Many of the puzzle felt like filler or time wasters, specially in episode one, making things needlessly complicated just to make the game longer. As for the story, it seems to simply do what Broken Sword does, some points are forced, some points are great, in the overall, I'm pretty content.

I finished Wind Waker HD and boy do the changes make a difference, you can get a faster sail for starters, it's also a weird one since the ocean does kinda change the feel of the game, but it's a pretty damn awesome Zelda game. And then I played Game & Wario for a while and.... it was over... Seriously, I think this game only has twelve mini game in single player, sure they might have harder levels, but... that's almost disgusting! That photo game that was 5€ one the DSi and has almost twice as many games.... this is SOOO messed up guys! How can they sell this full price, specially when they have sell something with more content for less?
  25. The Wolf Among Us

I assume it's just make up? I guess there is an art to it, making the lines be at just the right spot, because not everybody pulls it as well:
