  1. anime

I can't tell if that's an insult or not, people either love or loathe the Big Bang Theory.
  2. General Video Game Deals Thread

As someone who has played all three versions of Deadly Premonition, I have to say the PC port is atrocious, so I hope you're not talking about that version.
  3. anime

Wait, is this one related to the other anime called "Nichijou"? Either way it looks so much better than the other anime I tried to watch today, YuriYuri. The last and only other "Yuri" anime I watched was about two innocent and adorable girls in love, but this one? They're all perverts groping and fondling.... Since when is being a prevert OK just because you're a girl? I'm pretty sure it's a trope by now, one I'll try to avoid in the future.
  4. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Comixology is having more Halloween sales. Does anybody think the Vampirella comics are decent? There's also a bunch of IDW and Constantine comics on sale! Speaking of sales, I got a few Archie comics from the Halloween sale and... boy, Archie was kinda ugly and a prankster brat back then. I also don't get why anybody would be into Veronica... also this!
  5. anime

YES! I'm so glad more people are into Princess Jellyfish! It got a live action movie recently! The only non Sailor Moon anime I've watched lately is Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun and.... I'm so bummed out it's over, I love how "adorkable" the characters are. What I did like was I also started to watch Hi-sCool Seha Girls, which is from SEGA and look might be made in the same engine they use for Vocaloids? They only have two episodes, but if you're a SEGA fan, it's a must see! Not to mention you probably won't get any of the jokes if you're not? And now I need something to fill the void left by Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun.... I need a show with adorkable character like Princess Jellyfish or Ouran Host Club.

I just beat Hatoful Boyfriend and got ALL the endings. I suppose most got the game for laughs and only got one or two endings and yes, the game is wonderfully weird, but you should really try to get the final ending... It's not what you expect, I'll only say one thing...
  7. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Speaking of Archie, Comixology is having a HORROR Archie sale! Not only does it have Afterlife With Archie but also... Archie Meets KISS?
  8. Euro Truck Simulator 2

What the.... it's called EURO Truck Simulator and my country is not one of the countries included? Thank God for mods! EDIT: Couldn't get the game to work with the mod, but at least I could finally play it. PS: Having only played games, it takes a while not only to not drive like a game, but remember things like turning on your light at night. XP
  9. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I'm really not enjoying Hometown Story, I thought that since it was from the Harvest Moon series creator it would be like Harvest Moon with a new spin, and in many sense it is, but worse in every way. They've taken away all the tools and with it all of the fun, all you can do is run a shop and go outside to talk to people and find almost no items to scavenge. Talking to people isn't much fun here since many of them of "normal" villagers that don't really have anything to say and only exist to shop at your store and the "important" people are very annoying to find, instead of staying in one place during most of the day, if the don't have a shop, they wander a lot, which is infuriating. Since all you can do is shop and talk to people, the events are triggered by buying and selling very specific items... remember how I said you can't really scavenge in the game? You buy items from a merchant every day at the same hour and the items are random, so instead of cutting down wood to expand your store, you have to wait for the merchant to bring wood several times, since there is a limit to items you buy. The same goes for the key items you need to trigger events. And while I'm very disappointed, I know I would never have believed this game was this boring without playing it for myself.

I haven't posted in a while, so I'll just say I played the recently released on Steam Disney "Princess and Fairies" games and I really recommend Brave, it really changed from the plot of the movie and makes the evil bear an evil WIZARD bear and Merida gains many elemental powers that she can even use on the environment sometimes. You can summon tiny rock guardians with the Earth power and when it's fully upgraded it's ridiculous. The one I'd definitely NOT recommend is The Princess and The Frog, it's a mini game party that's only one player and you can't really lose, the game continues no matter how bad you perform. I doubt you'd want to hear about the rest, but they're mostly Wii ports and some are better ports than others.
  11. Euro Truck Simulator 2

It's pretty safe to assume someone who doesn't know how to drive shouldn't play this game, right? I saw in on sale with all the DLC.
  12. National Novel Writing Month: NaNoWrimo

I'm probably the least prepared around here, I'm probably going to run out of ideas in a week, but apparently their sight has a forum to help your creative juices flowing. Oddly enough, just by announcing it on Twitter I got some moral support from random writers on Twitter, which makes me even more curious about the site in general.
  13. Corey Doctorow's Little Brother and Homeland

My memory is a bit fuzzy, Homeland is the book that starts in Burning Man with a hacker kid, right? It really rubbed me the wrong way when the Burning Man was mostly the main character constantly meeting celebrities. The girlfriend Bjorn describes sure sounds like the girl from the book, who also got on my nerves for being too perfect.
  14. Cartoons!

I'm probably am jumping the gun by saying some relationships in show are created for drama's sake and only to break up, mostly because it's awful when it does happen. I actually like Korra too, it's just that the first episode of the first season rubbed me the wrong way, the "heaviest" the drama, the hardest it is to digest and the episode was a McDrama Deluxe without a "Light Hearted Comedy Shake" to wash it down.
  15. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

SQUIRREL GIRL IS FINALLY GETTING HER OWN COMIC! SQUEEE! AHH! This is the best new in Marvel comics since the Pet Avengers! You can fathom how happy this news made me! *prances like a fool forever*
  16. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I had to quit The Sun at Night, that metroidvania were you play as a cyborg Laika, the cosmonaut dog and I'm pretty sure was mentioned on the podcast a long time ago. The game seems so unpolished, while it's interesting that you can convert items you don't need into nanites some are never used, like the shield refill, I've yet to use one in the whole game, which is the main problem of the game, nothing seems necessary. None of the upgrades seem necessary, the only make the game even more of a cakewalk, I upgraded my main weapon and now I never need to use the other weapons. The levels are too big, empty, repetitive and confusing for me to bother to continue. You know a game is doing something wrong when it's making cyborg bears with lasers boring.

I beat Sweet Fuse, the "otome" visual novel game you play as Shinji Mikami's niece, the story is interesting enough, you're invited to the opening of your uncle's new theme park, which is taken over by what looks like an evil version of the theme park's mascot. He mentions a game will be played with the lives of the hostages he's taken and since his uncle is one of them, you agree to play the game. The game a bit bomb themed, your character's hair makes it look like a cartoon bomb, you have explosive temper outbursts, but I've yet to see a situation where choosing anger made things worse. You also have "explosive insight", a mini game of sorts where you must find the a clue hidden in your thoughts, you get to pick up to three making it a bit easier than it should. The game seems to branch off a lot in the end, since who ever you decide to befriend is going to be the person you spend the ending sequence with. The story is good enough, although you might have to play the game a few times to understand what's really happening, and the characters are interesting enough too, I never found any of them annoying or anything!
  18. Cartoons!

Wait, I think it's "milking the CASH cow dry?", I'm no idiom expert though. Tegan, are you talking about Hot Dog Water Girl and Velma?
  19. Cartoons!

I love that cartoon and it's the best Scooby cartoon ever, but the Velma/Shaggy thing seemed a bit forced to me, true, Fred and Daphne actually feel like a legit couple here, but once again, the break up seemed forced. And frankly, having minor complains with Scooby is nothing compared to the complaints I have about Korra, sure Scoob has a few minor hitches, but Korra is getting harder to "digest" with each season. I'd say Korra is milking the cow for all it's worth, but I think I'd need a stronger expression, one where the cow is dead and yet they still try to milk it? Anyway, Mystery Inc. is better than Korra, and my complaints were the ONLY complaints I have of that show.
  20. Cartoons!

Has anybody seen the new Korra? The new episode is so overly dramatic I kinda don't want to watch more... I know I've only seen one episode, but it feels like the show is just picking the most dramatic route, like when in the new Scooby-Doo toon, Velma and Shaggy dated only to break up, because drama, and Fred called off the wedding with Daphne, because drama.
  21. Books, books, books...

The last book I read was about a mommy detective called "Bundle of Trouble", which I thoroughly enjoyed despite committing the great mystery sin of giving the final clue to the protagonist and not the reader.... Is StoryBundle the only recurring book bundle out there? They've got four bundles running at the same time, which is a record for them. They have the very first NaNoWriMo bundle, with many books to help you be a better writer, a Supernatual Suspense bundle with some Clive Barker in it, a Mystery/Thriller one and a Cyberpunk one with a book called Star Hounds which I hated because the main protagonist is just an awful arrogant person.
  22. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Yes, exactly that one. Is there another version of this story? I began suspecting what would happen close to end and was super bummed out to find out I was right. I just realized this is also my first Zatanna comic ever and the first Wonder Woman comic I've read in ages. Also, there is an Oni Press Humble Bundle with Scott Pilgrim, R. Stevens and John Allison and much more in it! (I'm still trying to make room for the Valiant Bundle I got.)
  23. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

I don't if this should be here or on the Feminism thread, but I decided to get ALL the Batgirl comics on sale and so far: -In one comics the cops spend two panels staring at Batgirls ass. -In another comic, Robin stare's at Batgirl's breasts! -In the one I'm reading now Catwoman and Batgirl fought.... NAKED! In a way, the scene made sense, because Selina is the kind of girl to go to a nude club and Barbara is the kind who never do this, but still, the real reason they did this is obvious... Edit: I just read an issue of the Brave and The Bold that has Barabara Gordon right before becoming... The Oracle... Noooooo.... *sobs eternally*
  24. Ello.co

Has anybody read this article on Ello's funding and flaws? Frankly, the place seems deader than Google+, I know it's in Beta, but it looks ugly, doesn't allow to embed videos and I really don't like the "visibility factor", I don't know the algorithm they use, but it's obvious the more people you have, the higher it is? What's the point, you already know your follower count. It looks like everybody I know is just there to keep their username and aren't doing anything with it.
  25. HOWL O'WEEN (Halloween)

I already have my Octoberween avatar ready!
