Idle Thumbs 183: The Anonymouses
Tanukitsune replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
If you are going to play Hatoful Boyfriend, I have to say that the best part of this novel only is available when you've unlocked every other ending... It is more than worth it. -
Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I'm going to assume the same, the original Luigi's Mansion is rather short, while the Dark Moon is way too long and has almost not diversity compared to the old game. -
I'm beginning to wonder what people really mean when they call something a "walking simulator", I beat two of these today and I'm they were vastly different. The first game Coma: Mortuary, was amusingly terrible, it's like listing to an audiobook while wandering a bad Painkiller level, and the game is ridiculously lazy, you can die in few parts, but the death are ridiculous, you get a game over when touching a ghost, that's it... not even a jump scare before killing you. The plot is kinda hilarious, the main character blathers about the underworld like if Max Payne was giving a tourist guide of Hell and then... the game ends and they tell the rest of the story in a confusing cutscene. Montague's Mount was a completely different story, it's a first person adventure than anything, but I guess gamers will call any game where can walk two steps without a monster to fight a walking simulator now. it does have it's flaws, unless you tinker with the visual setting you are going to have miserable time even picking up the easiest object. The puzzles were few, but delightful, any game were you have to use Morse code to solve a puzzle is fine in my book. The remote Irish island is gloomy, but you know how beautiful this place would be if the weather and lighting was better. And some signs are in actual Irish, so I learned a word or two. I think the only reason this game has any bad reviews is that (apart from the easy to fix visual issues) you encounter puzzles instead of "spoopy" ghosts. *shrugs*

I've miraculously reached the 5000 word mark. I'm worried if my story will take 50.000 pages to write or not and I don't like the idea of extending the story for word counts' sake. It's too soon to say though.

I beat "Boo Bunny Plague", a MUSICAL brawler... I cannot describe how amazing this game is, the musical numbers before each boss fight are just superb. The fact that singer belongs to a group called "Skeleton D*ck" speaks volumes of the prodigious wonder that is the game.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure I grasp the concept of "strawmen", is it faking an attack to make your argument look more valid? Or claiming a counter argument is invalid because you feel attacked?

Sir, You Are Being Hunted is one of the games I got from the Steam Sale too. The rest were... -Black Mirror trilogy. -Legacy of Kain bundle -Sould Gambler -Day One Garry's Incident -Other potentially hilarious bad or awesome games for less than an Euro each.

Woah! The second one is adorable! X3 Doesn't Shmorky do a weekly animation for some site? I keep forgetting to check and always have to binge watch and forget about it again.

What?! I thought CoD games were about nothing but shooting terrorists and explosions.... now that it has gratuitous eye candy, it's basically a Michael Bay film?

Is anybody watching this new "Parasyte" anime? Apart from the interesting alien "Cronenbergian" design I don't think it has much going for it, kid gets alien in hand, they fight other aliens... I think I'm no longer in action anime anymore.

Has nobody else here played CQ2? They changed equipable items with cards you can use mid-battle, it's mostly the same but with a different plot. Also the game has an Xmas Duck cameo and one from Bee and Puppycat! :3

I've been playing more "Halloweeny" games: -Splatter Blood Red Edition: It's a game from the Zombie Shooter series with Max Payne styled cutscenes. It's one of the "dumb" shooters where shooting zombies is fun and not a chore, the only noteworthy thing else I can say it that the game has side mission and despite the whole "Max Payne" vibe it has, it's more upbeat than most zombie games. -Dead Nation: Another twin stick zombie shooter, nothing much to say about it expect that cooler weapon has so little ammo it's almost funny. -Resident Evil 6: Was did people hate this game again? People it's too long, but the game is divided in campaigns which you can beat in 5-6 hours. Sure it's more like RE5 and is not really a survival horror game but an action game, but I found the plot as cheesy as a normal RE game, which was a plus. It's a goofy action game with ridiculous bosses that are like flesh Transformers, how can anybody hate this adorable goofball of a game?

Since it looks like I'd still need backloggery.com for non Steam games I think I'd rather stick with it. Speaking of which, I just beat an adventure game on Steam I didn't even know that existed called "Haunted", a name I find hard to believe hasn't been used yet. I got when an indie bundle and expected it to be an "IHOG" game, only to find out it was an adventure and then... I found it was a Deck 13 game, you know the people who the very boring Ankh and Jack Keane games? The writing is bland and the characters are wooden, but it does have interesting moments (the cathedral) and I really REALLY enjoyed the puzzles, many of them pull off the "cartoon logic" puzzle very well, but the most interesting thing about the game is the ghost mechanic. The main character can see and talk to ghost and uses their powers to help her in her adventure, Oscar the pirate can touch things that would harm the protagonist, William is giant Scotsman that has slain many Englishmen but can only touch thing that have been "touched by Death", you mean someone who claims to be Confucius and since water was involved in his death, he was water powers. You also have a ghost wolf that can sniff things out and dig and the ghost of a goldfish that is somehow a mermaid that is only ghost that can fly. The game even has a bonus chapter, where they dump ALL the Lucasarts references at once and perhaps even to Simon the Sorcerer? Frankly, it's far from game of the year material, but it's in a super cheap bundle and I'm just happy to see Deck 13 do a good job for once!

My Origin account got hacked, in other news, I somehow have an Origin account?
Tanukitsune posted a topic in Video Gaming
I never even touched Origin because of all the bad press it got, but apparently I had an EA account that became my Origin account. And for some reason, a Russian kid hacked it and stole it, I'm not sure how they did it, but I only got suspicious when I got EA newsletters in Russian. I didn't think something was really wrong until today when I got email claiming I had blocked another Origin user. That's when a "Tweeted" at EA Support and found out what happened. The worst part is that I had to install Origin to find out the damage he had done, but I'm still not sure what he did with it, his avatar was the typical FPS marine, he has no friends and game-wise the only game I have listed are from Steam and Sims 2? I guess I registered them back in the pre-Origins days and they gave me the digital version? I'm still baffled by this, why hack my practically empty account? Since he blocked someone he apparently used it for something, but what could he have used that doesn't show up in my games? Did he do it for the "lulz"? They why report abuse from another user? Also for "lulz"? Considered how old my data was at EA, I'm not worried and my password was so old I wouldn't be surprised if the hacked it by just guesswork, but I'm still extremely curious at the why? Why change the avatar? Why did he not change the password? He obviously used it for something since he reported someone, but what? Should I find the person who got reported and thank them? Has anybody else have had a similar experience? -

I heard it "spies" on you, but that's about it. Unless one of their free games interests me I'm not sure I'll ever turn it on again. -
I remember enjoying She-Hulk when she's actually smart and a doing lawyer work, does she do any cases in the current issues? EDIT: I just read Afterlife with Archie and it was great, but it bummed me out that "Book II" is about something completely different. Am I being naive to think this series has an end and won't go on for a millenia?

You're probably right, the episode started with the group discussing how to "get chicks" and the next skit was them trying to get a date at the beach, having these so close together rubbed me the wrong way.

"The Daily Lives of High School Boys" is kinda getting on my nerves, do they spend the whole series trying to get a girlfriend?
