  1. General Video Game Deals Thread

Sold! It's gotta be better than the zombie ones that are barely sniper games any more. EDIT: Sniper Elite III is cheaper on the PSN Black Friday sale, but it seems wrong to play on a PS3.
  2. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

There are a lot of Black Friday Comic Sales going on now. Dark Horse Digital: Hellboy, Star Wars, Whedonverse. Comixology: Valiant Comics, Teen Titans, Red Sonja (*cough* Gail Simone's Red Sonja too*cough*), Image, Marvel Collections and more! Storybundle: It's half comedy books, half comics, but it has K.C. Green in it! I'm probably going to get more Red Sonja, Rat Queens and... I guess I should get some Saga while it's on sale?
  3. General Video Game Deals Thread

I'm rather tempted to get Sniper Elite III, but it's just 50% off.
  4. General Video Game Deals Thread

Wasn't Costume Quest 2 in a Humble Bundle less than a month after it's release? But yeah, I haven't heard much about the game and what I heard wasn't good.
  5. National Novel Writing Month: NaNoWrimo

Apart from editing it, I am completely clueless on what to do next.
  6. General Video Game Deals Thread

I'm kinda debating on whether to get The Evil Within, isn't the PC port rather unstable?
  7. National Novel Writing Month: NaNoWrimo

    HUZZAH!
  8. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I'm thinking of quitting Killer is Dead, not only do I hate the main character who is pervert, and this is from the guy who will defend Space Dandy and has played Eroge. You HAVE to play a sexist "stare at a women's bodies" mini-game to unlock weapons. It feels like No More Heroes only the hero is not a loser pervert, but a "winner pervert". When you're character is basically the Ice King, thinking every lady loves him and you fail at everything, it can be endearing, but when he doesn't, he's just a horrible person. I might be able to overlook the main character, if the story was any good or the combat was fun, but the story is weird for weirdness sake and at the same time predictable. The combat is getting stale, the enemies are always the same and once you get the hang of them, there is just no point.
  9. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Apparently Dark Horse Digital is going to have a Black Friday sale 99.99$ MEGA bundles, it's not full yet, but it looks you can get ALL the Whedonverse for that price, also all the Stars Wars, Dark Horse superheros a few more? Black Friday is going to be brutal.

I beat Monument Valley, which might not be the only "Escher" puzzle game, but it's certainly the best one I've played.

Of course it would win an award, it deserves to be game of the year! XD The game let's you choose the players in this game, you can have a gay couple and it has "sensitive" issues... handled horribly. I already explained how terrible the game is at being morally ambiguous and the situations get increasingly hilarious. The game can take about 6 hours, I had to waste a lot time doing boring jobs to afford to continue in the game and fishing to not starve, the fishing is ridiculous, no I'm not kidding, it keeps making Ridiculous Fishing references every time you fish. It's better that you try to play it in not too many sessions, you'll want to keep the plot fresh in your brain to see the inconsistencies, although like I said, many happen in the same scene.

Well, I beat a game I was going to quit on called "Always Sometimes Monsters", it's so terribad it's awesome all over again. I'm baffled everybody loves it for it's story when it makes Sakura Spirit a game about fox ladies showing their panties look like Grim Fandango. It's just so... hamfisted? It's like they tried to emulate a Telltale game in RPGMaker and failed miserable and are completely unaware of it. It's all about decisions... and indie game references, the new "Obligatory Monkey Island reference", I guess. It fails horrible at making the decisions grey or simply not obvious. On the very first day you're options are stealing an old ladies' pension money or doing the right thing and sleep on the streets... The game is utterly aware of the constant GIANT errors in logic it's constantly makes. At one time it asks you to break into a mansion and your characters spends some time talking about security, only to have no security what so ever. The game constantly does things like this, it's just lazy. I don't know if they just bought a bunch of asset, but it's just lazy all around, so many graphics are so lazy it's painful. They were too lazy to make the sprites sleep, so when you sleep it's just the sprite in the up position, probably because they were to lazy to edit the sprite. In one scene you eat pancakes.... except it's a salad... a salad. They are too lazy to draw a pixel pancake, all they had to do was edit the sprite, it's just a few pixels! *rambles incoherently for hours* My opinion from the game changed quickly from thinking it's bad, to thinking it's dumb, to think it's so terrible it's brilliant. So many times the games seems to actively want you to hate it with the tedious tasks, you're forced to do many jobs for which they obvious did no research (well, maybe they did know about the pot farm), and they just make it time consuming, inefficient and boring. You could claim it's trying to reflect a harsh reality, but it's clear the people who made this live in a fantasy world of their own. It's like playing someone's bad fanfic... Thumbs up?
  13. Frankly, it's been so long since an adventure game didn't reduce all interacting to "use" and "look", I'm kinda hyped to use the verbs again. It also means you get to "pick up" every character and hear them say "They're not my type."
  14. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Wow, it's getting even more painful as I play on, I'm almost playing because it's getting so bad it's hilarious now. EDIT: It's officially reached the so bad it's hilarious zone now.
  15. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Has anybody played "Always Sometimes Monsters"? I'm beginning to wonder if I should bother with this game. It's like those "morality" games, but instead of being "punch a nun or give her a hug", it's "steal from a nun or sleep on the streets", which isn't much better. It's rather obvious that the "righteous road" will be rocky and evil road easy, nothing feels grey but the game feels like it thinks it is.
  16. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

I could only afford to get the Gail Simone run of Wonder Woman. :\
  17. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Apparently Gail Simone also wrote a few issues of Wonder Woman so I now know which issues to get, is it weird that she keeps popping up in my comics when I barely read mainstream comics?
  18. Cartoons!

I'd hate to make another post since the last one, but I haven't been gaming much with NaNoWriMo and WOW, the ending of Over The Garden Wall is absolutely sublime! I love how the story starts almost whimsical and gets darker and darker near the end.
  19. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Comixology is having a Wonder Woman sale, does anybody recommend any of them?
  20. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

I would so buy a Christmas Duck Amiibo.
  21. Cartoons!

I'm watching Over The Garden Wall, I was going to ask if it's supposed to remind me of old B&W cartoons, but it seems I already got my answer. The tavern girl in episode even sounds and looks like Betty Boop to me. And yeah, the Highwayman's song was ridiculously well animated and creepy. To be completely honest, when I first saw footage of the show I thought it was a movie. I'm glad it's just a mini-series with an ending, there are too many good cartoons and it's hard to me to keep up with them. I haven't watched Korra in weeks and frankly, I'm afraid to, I didn't really enjoy the few episodes I saw and I'm afraid if I watch the show it will just confirm that I just don't like it anymore.
  22. Oh dear... I don't know if it's as humorous as Cookie Clicker, but the heroes you hire have funny definition? *goes back to clicking* Oh right, what do you guys think? *click* *click* I can't stop.... *click* HELP! *click*
  23. National Novel Writing Month: NaNoWrimo

    I can't believe I've reached 16,000 words, I might actually make it!
  24. Happy Birthday!

    Happy, B-day Tegan! :3
  25. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

It really kills me to say this, but I have quit a game I was about to recommend, BlackSouls, an old school survival horror game, it even has tank controls, although you and turn and aim with the mouse too. It had gotten the atmosphere and puzzles almost perfectly, for example, a drawing that looks like some silly children's drawing happened to be a solution for the puzzle, which was pretty delightful. The games biggest detriment is the horrid combat, you start with nothing and soon get a crowbar, the combat animation is awkward and the zombies practically always kill you with one hit, the worse part is the slow death animation, the zombie lunges at your throat and munches on for what seems to be forever and you can't skip or quit. It's almost quicker to Alt+F4 and relauch the game than to wait until you can reload. After a very tense moment in a basement I got a gun and have expect a zombie to appear. It did, when I was out of the basement, and that when I discovered the gun seemed to do LESS damage than the crowbar and died, after finally killing it I went outside and encounter way too many zombies to handle with this clunky combat and begrudgingly quit when the zombies obviously killed me.
