I don't get spammed at all lately... BUT, I did get a chain mail letter... In a UCQ message...

I got the Jazz Jackrabbit 2: The Secret Files from a budget bin last year... Spaz ate the Dopefish... Am I the only one who thinks Bucky O'Hare and Jazz Jackrabbit look TOO much alike? They're both green space rabbits, one fights toads and the other turtles... They both use blasters too.... What did the furries ever did to you? (Do I really want to know?)

My policy is to diss the companies and not the staff itself... I'd never say anything bad about a programmer/designer (OK, maybe Killcreek), but instead I take a stab at the company. (EA su><0rz!) So... Carmack is OK in my book...

Hmm, now I wonder if I will be able to play the US version in my PC... My sister is on her honeymoon and his husband is buying himself a copy of HL 2, and another for me... But all this checking and unlocking worries me...

Check it out! Tim Burton is making a remake of the Willy Wonka movie! Willy Wonka is Johnny Depp, who looks like Manson (Marlyn) in the poster... I can't wait to see the factory and the Umpa Loompas designed by Tim Burton!

Nitro family is a game from a small korean company called Delphieye, it uses Serious Sam's engine and it's very similar to it, specially since it has the same colorfull worlds, truckloads of enemies to fight at the same time and most importantly, a dash of humour! Right about at the start of the game you'll be attacked by hordes of mutant chickens and kamikaze hogs, and if that won't make you smile, just wait till you meet Agent Solid, a guy who shoots you hidden in a box (sounds familiar?), a Bruce Lee clone, and an army of sailors with wooden pipe and a very distinguished chin. (They've definetely had their spinach!) The plot is simple, a mega corparation, Golden Bell, has created a drug called Healthy Family, with which they have control over nearly all the planet... Enter Victor and Maria Chopski, and their son Red Chief (who likes to play with dynamte), they're a family who lives happily in the woods hunting, until one day Golden Bell kidnapped Red Chief, and Victor and Maria must follow Golden Bell's trail all around the world till they find him! For starters this games in from a new company, and it's has lots of competition, with games likes HL 2, Doom 3 and other, this game will certainly go unnoticed, buy does is it deserve it? I'm going to say a thing I've never said before, I love this game's soundtrack and I'd actually buy it! The soundtrack is from Bolbox Rex (additional music from Modoocom), a music group from New Zealand, I like so much I just turn down the SFX to the minimun just to hear it! Oh wait, there is another reason for turning the SFX down... The character's barely talk at all, they only talk when you pick up an item you don't need (like when you have full ammo or health) and most dialogue is... written, but I actually forgive them since the music is so cool... Like most FPS, it tends to get monotonous, and the enemies start to look familiar when you futher in the game (the just have different hair, or different clothes or simliar), but you do have stages where you ride a vehicule to make it more fun... This game does bring some innovations, like a combo system, when you use a powerfull weapon like the shotgun or missile launcher, the enemy will fly to the skies where you can hit him again to gain more points and ammo, mastering this skill is a must since there are "puzzles" where you must use this technique to drop an enemy into a certain place... Another innovation is the fact that you are actually carrying a "passenger", Maria, Victor's wife, is on Victor's back in some sort of saddle, where she relaods the weapons you're not using, attack the enemies that get too close with het whip and has a special attack that can be used when obtaining a certain item. She also drives the vehicules in driving stages and she's the only one smart enough to open doors with a keypad, while she's cracking the code, you must protect her... We'll also meet Lisa, who sells us weapons and upgrades (unlike most FPS, in this game you don't find weapons, you buy and upgrade them), and give us some info about the story and hints... If you collect 20 Madnum cards (the company she works for) : Don't worry, there are more than 20 cards in the game... In this game you can enter "extasis mode", which is like bullet time and gives you more points and higer combos and while in this mode you hear classic music... You also have the chance to sample the Healthy Family drug, not without a "Heroes don't do drugs" message, that is, and all the enemies will turn into dancing girls while party music plays, and you lose health... The downside? No deathmatch mode, you can only play co-operative, but they promise to add it in the future... If you liked Serious Sam and Will Rock, you'll probably like this game, it fairly well done for a "n00b" company, and it's cheap too...

Like... Maple Story? (You know I might actually play this game?)

Ok, I didn't know that, but I did know that they made some game for the Amiga back in days of yore.... Isn't Midnight Nowhere from a Croatian Company? The only famous Korean game I can think of right now is NCSoft's City of Heroes... Korea may make good games, but we almost never hear of them...
-
Give them a break! Yes, Serious Sam is better, but it wasn't Croteam's first game, Nitro Family is Delphieye's first game, and korean games companies are always more humble than US, or European ones... I guess I'm always "soft" with new companies... Here is the demo, if you want to try it out...

Retro gaming may be making a come-back, but us PC gamers barely get any retro gaming collections... That is until I found Midway Arcade Treasuers for PC! It had been released previously on PS2 and XBox (probably GC too), but guess what I found out? They never really needed to put that much effort into it... I'm not saying it sucks, it rocks! What I'm saying is... This game already "existed" in a way.... Back in the PSOne era Midway released 4 volumes of Midway's Aracade Classics for several systems, depending on the system you had you got different game, Midway Arcade Treasures has all the games from the PC versions, even taking the extras. With the PC edition of Midway Arcade Treasures they don't even bother to hide it, if you explore the CD you see four folders with the games corresponding to each volume, they didn't even bother to change the help files, which clearly say "Midway Arcade Classis Vol. X", X being the volume you are in... All they did in the console versions was give it a more console friendly interface... Should we be mad at Midway and Digital Eclipse for this? Only if you already had the original PC Midway Arcade Classic's Vol 1-4, which isn't my case... The thing is, the PC version looks better, and even sound better than the console ones! Of course this is because Digital Eclipse had origianaly made these for PC, while they where simply ported to the PS2 and XBox... The main problem is trying to play Rampart (which originally was played with a trackball) and 720º (which had a circular rotating joystick) with your joystick, keyboard or mouse, the controls are just too shabby and it's near impossible to play! And why didn't they add BurgerTime!

I just got my copy of MAC 2 today, and the first thing I noticed is that there are FOUR fighting games and no move lists for any of them, as a matter of fact, no instuctions at all.... IAnd also they had very little extras, APB had tons of interviews MK 2 and 3 had lots but the rest barely had any extras at all... Of course if less interviews means more games, I'm all for it! Specially when the sound is so grainy...

I find wierd that someone from the US is jealous because we have DVD cases instead of boxes, it's usually the other way around.... I prefer DVD cases myself...
-
And to post about the game in the forum, right?
-
Huh? I can play just with the serial?

My sister got married! What does this have to do with HL 2? They're going to the Hawaii, and his husband is buying a copy of HL 2, and another one for me! I'll have to wait a several weeks for Half-Life 2 my sister to return though...

There is a thing or two I need to know: -Can I drag toolbar on top other toolbars to save browser window space? -When does Firefox keep it's temp archives? I like to keep all the flash animations I see in a folder...
-
I just got an email from Midway confirming MIdwat Arcade Treasures 3 is being made, they told me that there are several requests for BurgerTime but it's not confirmed if it will be in it... But I agree that there aren't that many known or good Midway games left, unless they use more modern games and less quantity... Or use Williams or Atari ones....

Trep, AFAIK all Silent Hill games excpet the first one are availible for PC, I have SH 4 myself on PC... Fatal Frame (a.k.a. Project Zero) is for XBox too... Freak Out is a PS2 exclusive, but it's very weird... and short... Kya Dark Lineage? Gregory Horror Show?

I'm sold! I've completely switched to Firefox and Thunderbird, and I've also started using my Gmail account instead of the old one... I love the options to open wepages in a tab instead of a new window! For a moment I thought the pages loaded slower, but it just loads them in a different order, because when I went to my game collection on IGN, it loaded faster than ever! I've already got Sage, Fireftp, Image zoom, Foxy tunes and Webmail Compose so I can visit my Gmail account easily, and since Gmail is starting to use POP3, I'll start using it in Thunderbird eventually.... I'll try out that spoof program, and does anybody any other cool extensions?

What are you complaining about? Europe isn't even going to get it at all!

I guess so... But the Ebay toolbar glowed green when at a real page and red at a fake....

Funny, horrifying or good news? V.Smile, the first educational gaming console!
Tanukitsune posted a topic in Video Gaming
V-Tech, makers of all those eudcational toys you may or may not have played in your youth, has created a gaming system for kids, that only plays educational games called V.Smile... They play "Smartridges" which all seem to be 2D games and most of them plataformers where have to do such things as pick letters to spell word and find items with a certain shape or color (keep in mind this is intended for kids 8 years and younger)... Is it good news? Yes, because now parents can buy their children a gaming systems where they are sure their kids can't play Rockstar or other violent games, unless they make "GTA: Learn the Ghetto Lingo", that is... The TV ad consists of a mother constantly saying stuff like "You won't have desert if you don't play your games", "You can stay up late if you play your video games"... Is it funny? Yes... A Care Bears game? It is horrifying? Yes... A Care Bears game? Oh, the humanity! The horror, the funky horror! -
Yes, I know that, but the toolbar that tells you that you are at a real Paypal or Ebay site and not a fake, doesn't... I'm using Firefox right now, BTW... I'm still looking for whereever Firefox store the internet temp files.... Is there anyway to manage the RSS feeds a little? When I entered the Comic Alert Feed I got ALL the items at the same time... Not even in order... Maybe I'll need Pluck after all? Anyway, I'm still learning... I had to download an optimizer because without it, it's slower than IE....
-
You know I might migrate to Firefox and only use IE when using Paypal and Ebay until they make and add-on toolbar for this... I'm still getting the hang of this thing.... Argh, I need some tutorial for the advanced stuff...
