MyNintendo has an offer for 20% off Etrian Odyssey IV, which seems like not much, should I just wait for a sale? I think I've seen it on sale before.

I just beat Disgaea Infinite a few days ago which gave the resolve to give Disgaea 2 another go, which I just beat! Disgaea Infinite is the story of a Prinny with a watch that let's him travel back in time, possess people and sometimes even take control of them, which he does to stop his boss Laharl from getting mad and cutting his salary. The game is absolutely hilarious and it was worth trying to get every single ending. Disgaea 2 has you playing as Adell the only human left in village of people slowly turning into monsters, his family try to summon the demon responsible for this curse but end up summoning his daughter. Together they try to find Lord Zenon and well, that's just the start of it. It's not as hilarious as Infinite, but it does have it's moments and I loved the ending. I thought I was stuck, but thanks to the Item Worlding system you can always dive into an item and make the item stronger while you get rare items and gain a few levels. The game also has a Dark Assembly, where you can plead to make the enemies stronger or weaker or just get better items. The game has so much to it, and the grind is actually very pleasant, I really loved this game!
  3. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I think I have to quit Disgaea 2, I reached a point where I have to grind, the problem is that I'm in an area I can't escape from (Colosseum Depths) and I don't have anywhere to grind? This sucks because I was enjoying the game, maybe I should just skip to Disgaea 3 and be more careful and keep two saves?

I just completed Lost Dimension, a game in the style of Danganrompa, in the sense it's a bunch of kids and a lot of them will die, except it's an SRPG. You're a bunch of psychics trying to stop The End from destroying the world by entering his tower and climbing it, but The End forces you to play a sick game each floor where you must find the traitor in your group and "erase" them... And the traitors change each game. What I really liked about the game is that the characters were good, but didn't go overboard except for George... I hate George. You have to play the game at least twice to uncover the plot and "True Ending", which isn't too hard since it's not a long game. The gameplay and the traitor mechanic work well with each other. At the end of a mission, you hear voices, but you don't know from who, so when you hear a suspicious voice you don't know who the suspect is, so by playing the other missions and through the process of elimination you will find all the suspects and use your powers to find the traitor. The other will vote for the person with the worst battle rating, so getting the traitor out of your active group is a must, not to mention the best warriors get more votes. It all works well in the end.

I finally beat "Shiren The Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate" and it was such a great and fun challenge! It's a rogue-like where as far as I can tell, you aren't the protagonist? You play as Shiren, but this is the story of Jirochi and Oyu, a young couple in love, but Oyu is very sick and will soon die, only the Dice of Fate can cure her. The biggest thing to set it apart from other is the night/day cycle, the moment it's night you can't see unless you have a torch and night enemies replace the day ones and they can only be killed with the powers in your bead necklace, which are limited and only recharge once per floor. The night is rather terrifying since the monsters attack each other and level up drastically and become very strong, as in, kill you in one hit strong. One run I ran like crazy to the stairs only to realize, Jirochi died and I couldn't continue the story without him. I could fill this post with several stories where things got ugly and I barely survived, but getting those experience is the best part of the game? The game throws nasty monsters and trap, but you can prepare for most of them.
  6. Books, books, books...

Does anybody recommend the current Brandon Sanderson Humble Bundle? I loved the Emperor's Soul!
  7. Keiji Inafune's Mighty No.9

Since the Vita one was supposed to be Crossbuy, I got the PS3/PS4 version? I could swear I've heard it's still upcoming and will likely exist?
  8. My armor is maxed and not Lynels aren't as scary? I reached a mission I just can't beat... I did so much today I don't know what else I can do tomorrow, specially if I can't get all the shrines.
  9. *facepalm* I'll get it eventually. It just hit me, Gerudo don't allow men in their village, but it has children, so... Do the children have to leave their families or do the Gerudo abandon men once they get pregnant?
  10. Eventide was a breeze to me once I had beaten all four beasts, but when I first got there I died so quickly... I beat the game and... I was just going to turn it on today to scan some amiibo and got a few memories and beat two Lynel to upgrade my armor, I still need some guts to upgrade them and they are still the hardest thing in the game. Can you do the flurry thing to for any attack or only specific ones? I'll probably pick at it each day until proper guides come out to help with what I missed.

The Sony PSN sale is ridiculous, LocoRoco, Ratchet & Clank, Vib-Ribbon... Does anybody play the Syphon Filter games? You can have most of the series super cheap!
  12. Nintendo 3DS

Does anybody know if you can give away My Nintendo codes? I have points that are about to expire...

So I beat Mother 1/Earthbound Zero on the NES Mini, specifically the "Easy" patch and... wow, it's practically unplayable unpatched. The game is so unbalanced, many areas have super strong enemies for no reason, since in the next area they'll less strong suddenly. The grinding is torture without the patch and dungeon design is pretty bad? Also the story is ham-fisted and weak and the charm from the sequels are not here. If you want to say you've played the whole trilogy, do it with the patch I mentioned, or else you'll be in for a bad time.

I was lucky enough to find a NES Mini and I obviously filled it with NES games, like Sweet Home! The first survival it reminded me of wasn't Resident Evil, but Corpse Party, with the use of boards to go over gaps, the use of candles and the gruesome gore? It also reminded me of Dizzy with it's TINY inventory and some obtuse puzzles, for example, somehow a pick will allow you to walk over ice? The real challenge is dealing with the inventory, when can you drop an item? Which items do I need? You only have room for TWO and a weapon. The game forces you to split into teams of two and three or smaller if needed since each character has a special item, Taro has a camera to get hints from frescos, Kazuo has a lighter, Akiko has a medical kit to remove status ailments, Emi has a key that opens many doors and... Asuka has a vacuum cleaner? She cleans up dirty frescos and floors with glass pieces. You could probably play the whole game without a walkthrough thanks to the fresco's hints (except for one specific puzzle, which is very strict?) and the mansion has enough healing items to keep you alive. If you can, give this game a go, I really recommend it!
  15. Nintendo 3DS

YES! I only played the first game, but I loved it! Are we at least getting the amiibo? Isn't the physical edition the whole trilogy?

I beat a few games: 3D Super Hang On: I played this on my Amstrad as a kid and on arcade too, and boy is it better than I remember! The Amstrad version doesn't even have the great music, which isn't easy to hear over the noisy bike and the graphics are gorgeous! It's no Outrun, but it's great! 3D Power Drift: Ugh, I kinda hate this game? I don't know if this is the first SEGA game with other racers, but boy are they broken! They seem immune to obstacles and can drive where my car can't? I don't know why I beat every course... Oh, right. I expected it to unlock something like in Super Hang On. Tick's Tales: This adventure has it's obvious Monkey Island influences and it's merely Medieval Monkey Island, only not as good. You have the three tasks, and from the starts the puzzles show the lack of polish and logic. How am I supposed to know wool plus stick makes a cat toy? How was I supposed to know he could make a string out of the wool? Most the puzzles are just making potions where you have to figure out what they mean, and logic is something not very sound...

Is like the other 3D Classics with little extra modes and such? I also heard it comes with 3DS themes, but maybe that's just the physical version? It's pretty lucky that it has all the Sega 3D Classics that I don't own... except 3D Ecco The Dolphin?
  18. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

It's a vania... backtracking is supposed to be part of the formula? Is this you first Shantae game? I wouldn't say it's the hardest of the series.

It looks like the EU eShop will have a SEGA 3D Classics sale, of the individual titles and the collection. Is the 3D Classics collection worth getting? It seems to be cheaper to get the separately.

I just beat Final Fantasy II and the extra dungeon in the PSP version and I gotta say, FF II is very weird and probably not well balanced, but it's still fun to play and it has so many elements we now expect to see in an FF game. The first Chocobo appears, but you only need it once, Cid makes his first appearance too and many of the staple FF enemies, like Malboro. The weird part is that you don't gain levels, you gain "skills". When you get hit, you gain HP XP, when you use a weapon, you gain XP for that specific type of weapon. It creates so many weird imbalances in the game, like gaining the ultimate spell and seeing it's only 1 and does barely nothing unless you grind a LOT or how you can have any character use any weapon, but they'll be useless until they gain some XP. The Rebirth of Souls dungeon is a side story dungeon that's a nice tough challenge which takes places more or less at the same time as the final dungeon in the normal story and I loved it. All I can say is...If you like older JRPGs, you should give FF II a go and give the weird level system a chance!

Final Fantasy is having a 30th Anniversary sale almost everywhere? I heard even the eShop is getting one, but it might be in the US only. I'm wondering if I should get the PC version of FF8, but I wonder if it's worth to double dip just to skip the grinding and such?
  22. Plug your shit

I just released Dr. Fizzgigious' Fantabulous Carbon Dating Simulacrum on itch.io and Steam Greenlight. It's about Dr. Fizzgigious, a scholar who likes carbonated drink and ancient artifacts, his passion collide when his latest carbonated concoction brings ancient artifacts to life! It's kinda educational and kinda a romance game? The artifacts will quiz you a little. I was hoping it will make at least enough money to give my next game it's own soundtrack and not another Incompetech one?

I wonder if the 3DS version is harder to play with it's smaller screen? I just beat Tales of Hearts R and I'm so happy I could finally finish it, for some crazy reason, on my first playthrough I skipped an event which made the game crash soon after that. I didn't realize that was the cause until I replayed it and suddenly met a boss I've never seen before. I confess that the combat is too complex for and I set it to auto, the game has a LOT of complex things that can be set to auto: The story and characters are like most JRPGs familiar yet unique using the tropes in their own way.
  24. Steam Greenlight

Everybody seems to be convinced it's going to be $5000 fee and freaking out, either way, I guess the 100$ Greenlight fee I payed is wasted since I doubt I can get it on Steam in time? Imagine everything KS having to $5000 for Steam fees.... Ouch!
