Aw man! There's a sale on Play and I can't choose what to get!

Wow! That IS long, but not ridiculously long... It looks like Condemned 2 is also ridiculously cheap, but... Scribblenauts and Brutal Legends are coming out in Europe very soon, and those are the only two games I intend on getting the day they come out... Although I'll probably get them both from Play.com too, mostly because I'm positive Scribblenauts will only come in the language of the country you buy it in, and I don't want to buy it in Spanish... -

Are you kidding? The Thumbcast discussion time for Farcry is infinity! -

Damn! They are already out of Mirror's Edge! Fortunately they one of the PlayTrade users (I think it's a real store that I've used before) had one at the same price new! I got 6 old games for the price of 2 new ones.... Most of the price went to getting SFIV C.E..... The normal edition is out of stock and the cheapest version is used and the cheapest new one costs only 10€ than the C.E.! I got Mirror's Edge, Farcry 2, Resident Evil 5, Condemned, Bionic Commando (SHUT UP! I WANT! ) and Street Fighter IV C.E. for the price of two new games, not bad! -

How long is Farcry 2? 20 hours? 40? Longer than Persona 4? -
The worst part is that there is a big chuck of RPGs in there....

I hate when people compare Ceville to Shrek, I'm pretty sure wasn't the first story to take place in Fairy Tale Land... Erkki, you thought the reference weren't sublte? What would be a subtle reference to you? The Day of the Tentacle one was pretty subtle, I had to think about it to get it... To me it would be not subtle if it was like Family Guy and they had Mario kick Peter in the jewel box shouting "THIS IS MUSHROOM KINGDOM!", while Ceville would simply make a joke about plumbers being addicted to mushrooms? But yeah, the ending did cheese me off a bit....

You guys think YOU have backlog problems? 150+ unbeaten games! I've banned myself from buying new games unless they are sale... "Unfortunately" Steam, GOG, and the Apple App Store have mad sales every week.... I'm almost grateful Direct to Drive only allows people from the UK or US to buy their games... At the same time it IS a good thing, because by only concentrating on my backlog and not buying 60€ games... The 60€ eventually become 20-30€ games!?

Oddly enough I had a Dreamcast related game last night! I dreamed that the big fat bag guy from Shenmue II was chasing me!

Despite the fact that I already own Braid on 360, buying it again on Steam seemed like a good excuse to play it again... But when I downloaded I saw two new games next to it! Crash Time II and Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals, which happen to be published by Meridian4. I remember buying the complete pack a while ago, and when I always buy one I always jokingly think that this should entitle me to all the games they ever publish.... EVER! And now... I actually got two new games from them? The only other complete packs I remember buying is the PopCap one and the Mumbo Jumbo one, but Mumbo Jumbo has had new games since the pack and I didn't get those... And now I wonder... is this a mistake? Or do some companies actually do this? Even if they do do this I doubt it would be permanent, perhaps you get all the games published after a few months since the day you purchased the pack?

Did Steam just give me two free games? :O

I got it, but isn't the version of Gish just a demo, or did it have both? Oooh! That sounds nice! :3 -

There's a small publisher in my country who gave free games if you sent them enough registered game cards... I don't know if they still do it though? -

They seems to be just so-so games though... And they aren't part of the Meridian4 pack, which is weird? -
Really? And only now it's starting to pick up? Either way I'm waiting, I don't want it to end up like my G15 keyboard which is useless now...
-
Same here! I bought a keyboard that had a display that was supposed to be used in a bunch of games, but it was only used in ONE! Maybe I should wait a year? If they are still making games for it by then, it should be a safer bet?

I was actually playing a Dreamcast game while listening... only to find out you only mentioned the Dreamcast for a few seconds... I'm mildly tempted by the cyborg robot gaming thingamajig, but at that price I hope you talk about more in the next podcast to see how good it really is?

I don't really have a TV, I use a USB TV tuner mostly to play video games than anything else, which worked fine.... until now! I got a 360 over a week ago, and had no trouble with the games I had bought... Until I tried CoD4 which came with the console... It told me that it was 60hz only game, and after some investigation, it seems there are NO USB TV tuners that supports 60hz! I'd get an internal one, but my PC is still rather new and still in warranty, and the TV tuners never tell you if they support 60hz or not.... Apparently there are LCD TVs that can be used a PC monitors, which would be perfect since I don't have the room for a TV and I could even get one with an HDMI port, but... Is it a good idea? It's the only solution I can come up with...
-
Yeah, but it's nice to look at games I'll probably never own or games I wouldn't want to own until I've seen the gameplay...
-
Well, if it doesn't have commentary I do tend to slip a lot, but you're right they are a godsend when you're stuck in a game!
-
It has begun! And boy... did it start with a bang! 'Splosion Man is awesome! It has a very retro feel since all you can do is explode and it's so challenging, about as challenging as Mega Man 9? Some of the levels ever reminds me a bit of Mega Man actually... But I'm here about the multiplayer ones! Is anybody thinking of picking up Marvel VS Capcom? I already have it on Dreamcast, and I don't have a decent pad to play it on the 360, so I don't know if I should bother getting it... And then there is the HD version of Turtles in Time... It's the SAME game as the arcade only prettier.... And possibly a bit too expensive for a game you can beat in an hour? I'm more likely to get the Turtles game if people are willing to get it and play online... It's no Castle Crashers, but it should be fun!
-
Yeah, but I can get the 360 version at Play.com for basically the same price, which is why I resurrected this thread!
-
Hmm, I've watched a unboxing of the special edition on YouTube and I've seen the figures and the art book... I think I'll just get the normal version instead...
-
So I could get both and twice the achievements then? So you have the special edition? How is the movie that comes with it? To get my benchmark rating from E to B I had to set everything to minimum... Which removes backgrounds...
-
Well, the PC has some nifty filters that can make it look like a watercolor painting or a poster... But I could pay 20€ more and get the special 360 version which comes with two figures, a movie, exclusive unlockable content and a guise with special art about the new characters... I'm downloading the benchmark thingie which will tell if I can run it, but I guess it will? Oh, and they both have support for Live, so I'd get achievements for both... But what happens if you buy both versions? Does like consider it only one game? EDIT: According to the benchmark, I have to reduce the settings super low to make it run well enough.... I don't want to play Street Fighter at 800*600 and those special effects exclusive? They looked kinda horrible to me... I guess the 360 version it is?!
-
No I mean the non special edition has the same price on 360 and PC at this moment, which is 20, the special is 40.
-
After seeing that SF IV was for sale on Steam I googled and found a gamepad that has a good D-pad that works for PC and 360... And it seems both versions cost nearly the same! And it seems I can still get the Collector's Edition for 40€.... Which version should I get?
