I'm sure glad they included the "show everything on the map", that's one way to get ME to buy the DLC! Ever since The Saboteur simply had this "Map that shows all" in the game itself, I hope EVERY game has it, at least as an unlockable!

First of all, I must admit, as someone who has played WOW, that the game can be VERY dangerous, I dangerously addicted to the game, but after a few months I miraculously got over it when I realized what a wast of my time it was.... So yes, I do think WoW is a waste of time, I'd rather play a terrible game for hours than play WoW for a 5 minutes, but that doesn't mean EVERY game is a waste of time! The guy also says what you could do with the time you "wasted" playing games, like reading books.... Excuse me, hasn't this guy ever heard of audiobooks? Also, I just watched Citizen Kane for the first time, while I was playing a JRPG and even when I was playing WoW I multitasked and watched movies too! Not to mention, doing to much of ANYTHING is bad, what's the point of spending you whole life trying to find the cure for AIDS if you don't bother to leave the house to share the discovery? Does reading books or doing anything make you a better person if you obsess over it and don't interact with other people? If you had fun, you didn't waste your time, just don't get carried away!

It's a good time to be a gamer OR Is it a good time to be a gamer?
Tanukitsune replied to toblix's topic in Video Gaming
It's a nightmare if you want to keep up with the current games! It seems that each year we get three or four new franchises that are actually WORTH playing! Every game is getting a sequel now, and if didn't do well, it tries again as an XBLA game! -
It didn't even kill you with one hit on hard? Now I feel silly!
-
I played it on easy, and the moment I stopped being a pussy I realized the monster couldn't kill me with one hit the game became not scary at all...
-
Ha ha, mine was a Vic-20 too! I only remember that it had some math game and some word search game... You typed a word and it took HOURS to see if it had it in it's memory or something like that.... I'm not sure what my first "real" game was... Probably something on the C-64¿

I think they did fix it? Because it DOES have checkpoints now.... it's still unplayable to me... I'm sorry, I just can't deal with horrible controls!
-
I feel bad for posting here since I only listen to audiobooks and I rarely read physical ones, but... What would you suggest for someone who likes Sherlock Holmes? Would I like Poirot? And as a fan of Pratchett and Douglas Adams, is there anybody similar in their level of humor? I have some Audible credits to burn...

Oops, I didn't look back far enough... EDIT: Speaking of which, how long does it take to get the email from them with the info you need to get for the games? It's been two hours!
-
The Indie Love Bundle! I think you can share the ones you already have... if so, I'd have an extra Machinarium and Osmos to share!
-
Sonic Unleashed? I even liked Sonic 2006! XP

Considering I've played Stalin VS. Martians and Eternity's Child, this can't be any worse?

O.K.... I finally tried Gothic 2 & 3.... Gothic 3 would be nice if it weren't for the fact it loads ridiculously slowly, I heard the community patch helps, but apparently Steam already has it as part of the game! And "quick"save is actually MUCH slower than saving manually! I reduced all setting so low it looks like a PSOne game, it loads only a little bit faster.... And it also takes ages every time I load a save.... I'm sorry, I just can't take these long load times! As for Gothic 2? I thought it wasn't working at all, but it just takes ages to for the game to load too! It took so long I had almost forgotten about it when the loading screen appeared! But this isn't the worst loading time I've had... I tried to install Fallout Tactics the other days and it looks it refused to install.... SEVERAL hours later the setup program opened! Hopefully Gothic 4 will take less than a millennium to load....

They promised improved controls and checkpoints, as far as I remember?
-
Sorry to unbury this thread, but... Am I the only one who bought Lucidity on Steam when it was ridiculously cheap because they promised to "fix the game" and is still waiting for that update? I may have been tricked...

So there was a brawler sale on XBLA... And I got Invincible Tiger, which is supposed to play like a 70's kung fu movie... I actually tried and beat the demo, it was fun enough, but once you get the full game you discover that: -The game claims it has "simple controls".... Compated to Street Fighter, kinda, but get this, each enemy has a combo it's weak to and you HAVE to know what it is unless you want to get swarmed... They give you an info card on them if you beat enough of them, but... not every enemy has their weakness on their card.... -There is technically no healing items, you can only heal by "meditating"... Good luck doing that surrounded by enemies! Or by getting a special mask, but it seems that if you keep the mask on you take more damage? -They say you can gain extra lives, but they don't tell you how... You can get one by sacrificing your point when you die, but the game clearly states that you can increase them... -Apparently you can reach Zen state by getting a bar mostly balanced with white and blue, the blue is the damage you take and the white how much healing power you have left.... I've always died before the blue got over 20%... -The game has "enviromental attacks" like kicking buckets into enemies... they are pretty useless unless it's on a weak enemy on which it's almost useless... -The enemies get ridiculously strong, yet the bosses are retarded... You dodge, they get stuck, you attack and dodge again... -You unlock moves by getting high scores... but the game never bothers to tell you how to use them... Basically, the game has a lot of rules that you MUST know to beat it and nobody seems to know the rules, or least nobody seems to have bothered to figure them out? It's probably the best and ONLY game for martial arts movie fans, but... sorry, if you're not going to tell me how to play, I'm not going to play! Also, three lives aren't enough when some normal enemies can take nearly half of of your lifebar away with their special moves... I know I'm not the greatest gamer ever, and this game isn't THAT hard, but I find it too complicated, it's like half the manual is missing!
-
Wow, that's hard to believe! Then again, they both have the silly arm flailing thing?
-
I remember the PC version of that game... Everybody said it looked awesome, but once it came out... nobody talked about it anymore... I also couldn't get the hang of the game at all... XP I've never heard of Revenge of the Wounded Dragons... If it has a demo, I'll give it a try!
-
Has anybody played the game AND the demo? The demo has no difficulty levels and I keep getting swarmed.... I thought this was a survival horror game?
-
Sonic "fans" have despised every Sonic games for the last 15 years, they find a reason to loath this even if it is awesome... All the comments I've heard so far are already saying it's going to be terrible and nobody will give it a chance... The only thing I don't like is the episodic part, they'd better price it just right because nobody will want to end up spending 60$ on a 2D Sonic... Not to mention that ONLY Telltale Games has managed to end any episodic series they've started?
-
There's a demo of one of them on Steam, I wouldn't know if they are good since I'm that much into RTS...
-
I liked Spice World back in the day, which means that I was more hormonal back then and liked it because it had purdy ladies in it...
-
Happy Birthday, Wrestlevania!
-
Dang... Play is having a 2 for 33€ deal... I've always left Dead Space behind because I didn't live the demo that much, but, not that it's in this deal I'm definitely going to get it! But what else to get? If I loved The Saboteur will I like Mercenaries 2? I love blowing things up! Two other games that mildly interest me at this price are WET and Legendary, I enjoyed Stranglehold and I'm hoping Legendary will be like Will Rock?

And I think I need a hug.... Bomberman Act: Zero is Angry Video Game Nerd bad.... People kept telling me Sonic 2006 was the worst 360 game, and I actually thought it was rather good, but this? Imagine Bomberman... except he now looks like an ugly cyborg thing.... The music? GONE! Plot? NONE! Bosses? NONE! All you ever do is try to bomb other Bomberman again and again... for 100 stages... Oh, and did I mention that only have ONE life? But don't because there isn't any checkpoint, saves OR continues! If this had been released as an XBLA game, it would be pretty horrid too, but at least it wouldn't have had the full retail price! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!? I can't even complain more about the game because that's all there is to it! I'm still debating whether it's worse than Stalin Vs. Martians.... It probably is.... I'm going to curl up into a fetal position and cry now....
