  1. Piracy has hit a new low....

    All those games have demos....
  2. Saira

I got it yesterday and I beat it today! I like how every planet not only has it's own theme (lava, ruins), but it also has it's own "puzzle" theme.... The camera is the main gimmick of the game, you take photos of the clues and you can access them while you are at the puzzle itself... One world will quiz you about the planet you must search the whole planet and take photos of the scenery to have the clues, while other will be more platform orientated... Each system has two planets, you always have to visit both even though only one has a teleporter piece, the other either has clues or fuel for your vessel. To get the best ending, you need the best parts, which means solving the HARDEST galaxy! It has pretty hard platforming.... on a timer! But it was worth it.... One final thing.... once you get all the pieces, mess around with them to get several ending.... One of them will have a familiar face! PS: Is it on sale on Steam? I could swear it cost more before?
  3. That's like saying something make with ingredients by a chef isn't food... chefs can do more than food, but it's THEIR JOB to make food, so if they were hired to make it... it's bloody food dammit!
  4. I'm a bit late to this, but.... Video games have writers, composers and graphic artists so how can they NOT be "art"? If an engineer calculates the exact quantity of mayo a sandwich needs to be perfect, does it stop being food? If artists worked on something, it's art, we could go on for ages on what is art and what's not, but we could hopefully agree on what an artist is... even if the artist only is the kind whose art is the "art of the silver tongue to make my work look better than it is".... Movies have people how are not artists involved in them, yet they are still art because it's made by artists, so shouldn't that apply to everything? Yes, yes, you could say that artists can do thing that are not art, but THEIR JOB is to make "art", so if an artist is HIRED to work on something, it becomes art, simple as that.... But wait, don't they hire artists for ads, labels, logos, etc, etc...? Yes, and to me that would be still be art, even though what they use them work isn't necessarily art... I could just say that if someone calls it art it is art, that's how art works.... I can't remember where it's from though... I kinda agree with Rodi, the term "art" is being abused too much lately... EDIT: It looks like Penny Arcade agree with what I said about art! http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2010/4/21/again-art-stuff/
  5. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

My only complaint is that it looks like the hint system seems to be getting worse and worse.... I know WHAT I have to do, but the game never seems to hint on how to do so... It only tells me the obvious, as like it's reminding me on what I'm supposed to do... The again, the game does have "another" hint system which, which can be useful when you learn how to use it right... The new HUD reminds me so much of the original Sam & Max, it even has the same "use" logo and the cardboard box! It took me a while to adjust and fully understand how the "new mechanic" works, but once I did I had a blast!
  6. Darksiders: The Wrath of War

I don't even remember the soundtrack... And I played it a few hours ago... I don't think they care that much about music anymore in games, the last games I played with good music you'll actually remember and hum later was Persona 4...
  7. Darksiders: The Wrath of War

Is it me, or the boss of the portal level remind me of a Colossi? You know what? Some may hate me for saying this, but this makes a better "Zelda game" that Spirit Tracks... At least you get a horsie instead of a stupid train...
  8. Darksiders: The Wrath of War

I don't know what to think of this game... I'm loving it so far, but.... it's a "franken game"! Everything has been taken from another game... It plays like Zelda, Devil May Cry and God of War, coming close to ripping them off, but it's fun... I know most games borrow mechanics from others, but I don't know what to think about a game that borrows so much and so obviously... Also, the demons look awesome!
  9. iPad

I bought the iPhone because I needed a new phone, but... I can't justify an iPad when my iPhone isn't even a year old.... As a more or less avid iPhone game I can say there were a few nice games on it, but I've yet to see a killer app... I'm glad Sam & Max is on the iPad, but... It's going to need more than that. Will anyone actually make an essential exclusive game for it? I kinda want it fail because I don't want to buy another gaming device, which is a horrible thing to say yet.... I already have an iPhone, DS and PSP... I'd rather get a Pandora before getting an iPad, and I probably will!
  10. Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story

I got this game while I was in London, most of the mini games were on the verge of annoying, I didn't really love any of them unless you consider the Giant Bowser battles a mini game... Bowser was awesome, I'm not so sure about the rest of the game, there were too many mini games and not enough "chortles".... Maybe I just still have a bad taste in my mouth from playing the Sonic Bioware game....
  11. I'm going to be in London next weekend and while I'm there I'm going to sell the game I bought from Play.com, the question is... where? I only know of GAME.co.uk because we have GAME.es over here, where they give you more if you spend it at the store, but will it actually be worth it? Is there a better place to sell games in London? I will be buying one if I make enough, so if they give extra credits that's good too! I can give a list of the games if it helps? There a few where I'm undecided, games I've beaten and I "might" play again to get 100%... I also have a faulty copy of Lost Odyssey, but I'd feel guilty if I sold it, since one of the discs doesn't work!
  12. Is it actually worth selling games at GAME.co.uk?

1.50 for each game! No way! That's too little!
  13. Valkyria Chronicles

OH MY GOD! AIKA IS IN THIS GAME! Best game ever!
  14. Far Cry 2

  15. Far Cry 2

The ending sequence really got to me, even though I was thoroughly spoiled and knew more or less what was going to happen... I also had a buddy killed by a glitch! I went to sleep knowing that my buddy should be there waiting for me when I woke up... but he wasn't! I could see the subtitles with his cry for help, but I couldn't see or hear him or the smoke signal! I had to abandon him.... While it could have done with an extra layer of polish, I enjoyed the game a lot!
  16. OpenFeint ID exchange

If you play games on the iPhone, you are likely to have at least one with OpenFeint, which has become the most popular and almost the only thing close to XBLA or PSN, so... what is your ID? Mine is "tanukitsune"!
  17. General Video Game Deals Thread

Robobocalypse for the iPhone is free for a short period of time!
  18. General Video Game Deals Thread

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Steam's latest indie bundle! Bob came in pieces and Gridrunner are fun, Altitude and Galcon might be if you like multiplayer, but still fun solo, Bullet Candy is bullet hell and I'd forget the other too....
  19. OpenFeint ID exchange

I know, but I'm so used to that acronym, I just add the A all the time...
  20. So... video game characters don't need to go the bathroom and game worlds don't even have real plumbing... Toilets are mere props! Which made me think this.... WHAT ON EARTH DO THEY HAVE IN THE SEWER LEVELS THEN? Make up your own silly theory here! Mine is that it's the sludge at the bottom of the the coffee pot from the programmers!
  21. This thought will keep me up all night....

Well, it's at least a liquid, what the liquid is what I'd like to know!
  22. This thought will keep me up all night....

Yeah, yeah, but still, toilets are usually rare in games... Do you mean the barrels that explode when you shoot them? Remember me to never shoot the water in a sewer!
  23. This thought will keep me up all night....

Sims are like those peeing dolls, you pour water in one end and it comes out in the other end, it's not even the obligatory color yellow!
  24. Recently completed video games

Yeah, but it was a bitter sweet victory, since it was the last Gamecube game in my backlog...
  25. Recently completed video games

I just finished Skies of Arcadia Legends.... It's strange, the game is SOOOO bloody cliché and predictable, yet I loved it! I guess I was just happy to play a JRPG where I don't want to punch the main characters in the face? Also, they were "sky pirates" which was pretty awesome, although the airboat battles take WAAAY too long! Imma gonna play Arkham Asylum now! <3
