OH GOD! The PSP Go actually looks like a good idea?
Tanukitsune replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
I didn't buy the card at the game store, but why buy the Go when I can get the 3000? I'm only interest in one or two of the free games it has to offer. -

HA HA HA! I finally found the 8GB card and... it looks like my UMD reader is faulty because I get the home screen at random (which happens if you open the lid) and the battery is dying.... But wait! There is more! I called Sony support and... they can only replace my PSP for 120€! I can get a PSP 3000 for 140€! How can anybody think or replacing it? Argh! Nobody seems to have another solution.... -

I think it's been mentioned before, but not every game is available, but you can google to see if it is? I might import a game or two but I'll probably get more PSOne games that aren't available here? That would probably be more than a few a year? -
I've already found a Monkey Island reference in the game.... Should I be surprised?

Well, now that I'll have the Memory Stick, I don't think I'll get the PSP GO... What is the PSN voucher deal? 20? 20 games? 20 €? I just see a 20.... Isn't importing more expensive? The shipping alone is likely to double the price? I'm also thinking about purchasing the import PSOne games at the PSN store... I bet some of those games cost 100€ physically instead of 10€? -

Sweet! The that opened recently right in front of my apartment says they'll have them in stock! So, now that's out of the way.... Does anybody know if it's easier to import JP PSP games or should I just get a JP PSN account and find a JP PSN card? If so, where is a site that I can trust and won't rip me off? :B -

My hands can handle the GBA Mini, so I don't think I'll have a problem with the Go. I just looked up the prices of some of the games and some are still full price, making the deal sweater, like I said before, I don't actually hate racing games, I'm just bad at them, but I also want to get better at them? I think I might actually give this finding a new Memory Stick a go, but they all seem to be out of stock, I ordered one online and the bloody thing has been "waiting for stock" since I ordered it, despite it saying it was in stock... I wonder if Sony did this on purpose to force people with a PSP to buy a GO? Since game stores are failing me, I might look for one at the local PC component store? Since they are also used in cameras, does that mean I could get one in a camera store? -
Hey! I think Death Spank is voiced by the same guy as Captain Quark from Ratchet & Clank! :3 I'm loving it so far! <3

Since I have Plus now, I'd be getting two Minis and a PSOne game each month, so I'd be getting something each month for my PSP anyway? -
XBLA has the Deadliest Warrior today? Where's Death Spank? D: Maybe it will be there later, but when they release several games in a week, they all appear at the same time, right?

Yakuza 3, the closest thing you'll get to Shenmue 3?
Tanukitsune replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Time management? Sure, Shenmue had a time limit, but you had so much time that I never had to actually go any time management? Yakuza 3 takes place in two areas in two different cities, they aren't THAT big since you have to reach them by foot, but I spent several hours doing side missions, which is very open-wordly to me! Oh, and by the way, I found out the game has Karaoke... which means I can no longer get Platinum, since I have no sense of rhythm... -

I don't know how the first Yazuka game is completionist-wise, but I just spent a few hours walking around the city, doing side missions, beating punks and finding locker keys.... -
I think you lose EVERYTHING you got for free from this service if you leave it. And I looked it up on PSN, it doesn't say which version it is directly, but it says it uses the SIXAXIS controller so it's the PS3 one?
-
Huh? The PSN games are only "rentals" in the US?
-
The service is 15$ a trimester and you want free PSP games which are about 20? Why not ask for full PS3 games while we are at it? BTW, you get LBP if you subscribe at the beginning!

I just checked and they have PSP games I've been waiting for... that aren't for sale NON-digitally? Hammerin' Harry (now Gensan) is only available at PSN? DAAAAANG! I only have a 1G memory stick, so I'm going to have to buy a new one to play PSP games, right? Or I could just download one and delete it while keeping the save file? :| With the pricing they have now, they just have to give out one good game each month for it to be worth while, but like I said before, I think Plus members will buy less PSN games just in case that's the one they get for free next month? Out of curiosity I checked out what free games you get with the PSP go and they give you so many games you practically get the PSP Go for free! It's almost tempting...

It's no doubt the XBL experience is better, but over her it's 60$ a year for XBL Gold 50$ for Playstation Plus? I gave it a go and... Fieldrunners is the same as the iPhone version only with gamepad controls now, Age of Zombies is pretty fun, since you fight zombies IN TIME and Destruction Derby is fun since all I have to do is drive into other cars.... I haven't tried Wipeout HD but I don't think I'll be any good at it...
-
What does the Facebook thing do? I think that's for everybody, because I saw it in my options, but I didn't bother with it... And I'm pretty sure Hulu is just for the US.

I'm not a Sony fan, but I pay MORE for Live GOLD which I barely use, at least I'll get some games out of this? If it weren't for the fact that I got Yakuza 3 and Ratchet & Clank: Crack in Time recently I wouldn't even turn it on.... You do lose the games, but I guess it's not that bad if you've already beaten the game? Free PSP games sounds like too much, don't they cost 20$? That would be being too generous? I mean other sites would charge this monthly instead of tri-monthly, the content is a gamble, but the price is more than fair? Besides, how many PSP games are available for download? I'd probably use the PSN more if it weren't for the fact that they don't have a section for PSN games and they put them in the same section than the PS3 DLC....
-
I guess I'll give it a go since it's so cheap and it's a bundle? While I don't have ALL my game son Steam I haven't bought a non-digital PC game in ages... In some cases, I get the download and DVD versions, like Telltale or some indie games, but other than that, the only physical games I've bought lately was... The one from the guy who did Gish? It was almost every game he made in one CD? "A Cry For Help"? My PC is mostly for mouse based games, like adventure games or indie and small press games, and most of them lately only exist digitally.

They have Max Payne on sale, but... I don't think I could play an "older" game of this kind, I'm so used to modern controls, I'd get frustrated and quit playing the game... I don't like playing "action-y" games on PC that much anymore, they never seem to control as good as the console counterpart...

Play.com WAS like a paradise to me, I could buy brand new games on the release date on a price I'd have to wait ages for in my country! And they has so many games at the price I'm used to pay for, which is 20-30€, not to mention the shipping is FREE! Every single game I've purchased was made here, that is... until now... Recently, they added Verisign security for credit card purchases, which would be a good thing, right? Nope! Ever since they force you to use your Verisign password, I haven't been able to purchase a single game from them, simply because it doesn't work with my credit card! Every single time, they ask for my password and... it returns to the previous screen, it doesn't say that the password was wrong, it doesn't say that it failed to connect to the bank, it simply seems to ignore the verification process! I've tried calling them, but their phone number doesn't seem to work for non-UK phones and in email they keep saying it's my bank's fault, who say it's their fault, but frankly, I'm on the banks side and I'm positive it's the sites fault... I've tried someone else's card and it worked, so I know it's not my PC, but I'm at a loss on what to do next... I could: -Change banks to get a new credit card? Too drastic! -Change shops? I've yet to find one as cheap as Play.com, Amazon is cheap, but once you add the shipping, it's only free to UK residents, I might as well buy the game from the retail shop on day one... -Buy used? Even used games are more expensive that NEW Play.com games. Also, I hate buying used games unless I really have to. The last "new" game I played was Super Mario Galaxy 2, but I bought that on day one because Nintendo no longer drops the prices of their games, not counting that and digital downloads, I haven't bought a "new" game (as in not used) since late March!
-
It says... 99p per item? That sounds good to me! I think I'll give it a go!
-
I consider discounted games as "new" since they aren't used, I'm used to buying those 70€ games when they cost 30€, 20€ or less even! I only buy them on release date when it's something that needs support. There will always be new Silent Hill games, but games like 3D Dot Game Heroes so need all the help they can get....
-
It's still a paradise for me, in Spain we only have Game where new games cost almost 70€... They'd cost 52 at Play.com! Where do you get your games then?
