I am disappoint with the internet... Sprite spite!

Did I say he was interviewed more than once? I also don't remember saying it sucked, I just said it's not as awesome as all the sites say it is? -

Copying from other gamer sites is what most sites do anyway, right? I'm still tempted to do the 500 thing, but then again, he did do these at work, something I cannot do... It took him two months to make 200 characters, but he did them in his 9-5 desk job while answering phones, I'd have to do it AFTER my job is over... -

A part of my soul would die if I actually became popular out of this... Another part of me really wants to do the challenge... -

I'm not sure how many sites he was one, but within a few hours I saw SEVERAL sites link to him and when I was at my boiling point I saw the bloody interview.... NOBODY HAS GOTTEN INTERVIEWED OVER FANART BEFORE! I might not be enraged now, but when this happened I was fuming! Now... I'm just pissed... Maybe the fact the all the sites I saw linked to him did it the same day, or the same afternoon, to be more exact is the reason I got so angry, it's like the cliché you see in movies when somebody tries to get away from hearing something and switching the TV channel only to see every other channel is talking about it too... A part of me is actually tempted to do 500 Mega Man sprites just to show the world how easy it is, but I'm also hoping this will all be forgotten in an instant, like everything on the internet... -

Fiiiineee.... Every game site ever that shows off fanart? Now are you happy? Oh, I never knew that... Well, I knew older games could only have a limited number of colors per sprite, but I never knew they actually made characters out of several sprites to get more colors! -

Mega Man had 5? Light blue, dark blue, black, white and skin tone? -
I think it's time for me to upgrade my PC... Suggestions?

I don't really have room for a 5.1 speakers, I just have room for 2.1.... Does it sound silly that I want to get an SSD and install Windows on it just to get a near instant boot up? -
Hey! I was born in Winnipeg!

UGH! What a terrible interviewer... The kid would have done a better job if he wasn't so nervous... at least he seems to know a thing or two about games!

Is that an "OH GOD, Windows 7? *vomits*" or "OH GOD, YES! WINDOWS 7!"? -

Just how much do I need to install Windows 7? Or should I just get Vista? I finally found some info on them and I guess I could just get one for the S.O., like suggested? -
If it weren't for the walk cycle I would have thought this was a trailer for one of those "Interactive Hidden Object Games"... one of the better ones, that is...

I don't about other countries, but the other computers I found for the same price as the cheapest Alienware were much less powerful? How new are SDDs? I don't see them on the component price listing at any shop... But boy, are they tempting! *drools* -

Wait, wait.... So we now have SATA cables which aren't bothersome.... And I shouldn't have to mess with the motherboard's jumpers unless I'm an overclocker? Geez! Things have gotten simpler! So I only have to look up compatibility issues between components or is that not necessary either? I'm debating whether to update just enough to run what's out now... or spend a little more and get everything as powerful as I can afford? -

Hmm, I'll go to the store next door to check the component prices... So.. do motherboards only use SATA cables now? Has it been that long since I made a PC from scratch? -

The PC I bought didn't have a manual for the motherboard.. I'd have to start from scratch! Is it really viable to make a PC from scratch? I've always had at least one part from the previous PC.... Also I hate dealing with IDE cables! (They still exist, right?) -
Remember Haunted House on the Atari 2600? They somehow made a remake of it... The original game is about a man running in a dark house evading ghosts and critters while trying to find an urn and escape the haunted house, the remake is... more or less the same? I'm not entirely sure, but I think you played as the grandchildren of the hero of the original game? Although I'm not sure how that would work unless the hero already had children in the original game? Anyway, grandpa was last seen in a spooky house, where the kids decided to investigate! The gameplay has evolved quite a bit from the original game, you must search in boxes, shelves and other places for items to help you in the quest, you will mostly get items that give you light, you begin with matches, and then you'll find cellphones (in an ancient mansion? ), flares, candles, torches, lanterns and others.... Some last a long time but barely light, other burn out quickly but are very bright.... The lantern being the best in both light and duration. You can't really fight the enemies in the game, in the beginning only lighting a fireplace (which acts a checkpoint) will kill the enemies in the room and you'll be forced to evade the rest, the light of torches and lanterns do a bit of damage to the enemies, holy hand grenades, which kill everything in the area and are very rare and then there are the game breaking items.... There are four not too hard to find items that kill everything in the area and last indefinitely but need a time to recharge... There are also keys, obviously, coins.... which serve NO PURPOSE, journal entries from grampa and the previous inhabitants of this house, treasures that serve no purpose but at least some of them have funny descriptions and "magic lanterns", magic lantern are colored lanterns than uncover "secret" areas, they aren't that secret, if you see a blocked door and you can see there is actually something on the other side of the door, you know you need to find a magic lantern to get inside, they also can complicate the game a little since you can only carry two items (you could only carry one in the original) and you could actually mess up and drop the lantern you need to get inside an area INSIDE that area. The game also has "bosses", which involve spamming the magic light item until you win... The characters talk, a lot! I played as the girl who kept saying "JINKIES!", "ZOINKS!", "NOT COOL!", "OMG!".... I guess she can't decide which decade she's from.... There is one very annoying thing.... I once said that some people don't really test all difficulty levels and this game proved it... I played the demo on normal only to get murdered by spiders, so I played on easy... where the spiders are still deadly.... Every other enemy on easy can barely damage you, even the bosses, but the spiders? They can kill you in a couple of hits! When I got this game from the Halloween sale, I kinda expected a bad game, but it's just Haunted House... it's not revolutionary, but it does feel like proper Haunted House remake, but it does feel a bit rushed, the useless coins are proof of this.

The only Halloween game to me is Costume Quest, the others are just horror games, or goofy horror games... I love picking up treasure, but it kinda annoys me to think it was supposed to serve a purpose it never did!

Should I invest in an Alienware or will something lest expensive do? -
Tommy Tronic is a the type of game my "gamer palette" has been craving for a while... the old school run n' gun! Apparently Interplay now has "Interplay Discoveries" which are indie games we'd probably never hear of if not for them... Tommy Tronic is a 2D game with 3D characters and it looks pretty damn awesome, IHMO, for a game from an unknown Ukrainian developer. It's just like a 2D retro run n' gun and it remind me of those old Amiga platform games of yore, or maybe Commader Keen or Jazz Jackrabbit? The intro screen is... like the ones you get in the shareware game's "story" section, it's just a scrolling text with images, which helps the retro feel even more! It's very basic, in a good way... You run around shooting enemies, so far, I'm fighting giant veggies, picking up items to help you advance like keys to open doors, monster magnets, health kits and.... booze for drunken gnomes? Yep, if you find the booze and use it near the gnome it will follow you until you drop it, and there it will pick it and fall asleep creating a trampoline of sorts.... I would have considered this a kid game if not for this little booze thing? And of course, let's not forget my favorite part of run n' gun games.... SCORE ITEMS! I can't remember the last time I felt so gleeful picking up floating food and gems... I can't remember the last game that HAD floating food and gems either... For every 1000 points you score you fill get a bonus, it can be an item or more score items, the weird thing is... the score and items don't carry over to the next level? The weirdest part is that I don't mind! I'd say the controls aren't that good, but the last platform game I played before this was Super Meat Boy, which makes all other games looks stiff and sluggish... The main character is a little kid who is trying to rescue his puppy taken by bullies, a thuggish one and a mad genius one, and the kid talks, but not too much to make it annoying, I rather like his enthusiastic voice when you find a secret chest or get a cool weapon... So, to sum it up... it's like playing a platform game from the 90's with 3D graphics, it's nothing new, but if you miss the good ol' times it might be right up your alley! EDIT: I beat the game, the levels only start to look different near the end and it's also where it gets really challenging.... I also found the only review I could find from a Destructoid member, who wouldn't you know it, says it's the worst game ever... Meh! I just want to jump and pick up diamonds!

I just remembered two more JRPG tropes from playing Lunar on PSP: - Have a prologue where you fight the bad guy with a legendary group of heroes that aren't the main characters. -If an enemy runs away, it gives you a ton of money or XP for killing it.... You know, I think I don't hate JRPGs, I hate modern JRPGs with emo characters that whine or have daddy issues, as long as I don't feel like punching the hero in the face, I'm usually OK with the game?

Does anybody remember a show that taught people about computers?
Tanukitsune posted a topic in Idle Banter
I just had a very vague memory of a show I saw as a kid... I'm pretty sure it was made to teach kinds how computers work.... I remember it having a very simplistic style... And I think they had binary bits as living critters and they may have looked a bit like this? I think it might be a British show? That's all I can remember... Maybe the 0s and 1s looked different and maybe the computer where alive too, but I'm not sure about that... -
I only have Fantastic Dizzy for the Mega Drive... I always wanted to play more of these games, but I only find ILLEGAL bundles of the series on Ebay...
