Isn't that most "angry reviewers" do? AVGN, Nostalgia Critic... AVGN takes fake dumps on video games, how is this SO MUCH worse?
-
Well, he's definitely not my favorite thing on the Escapist ever since Loading Ready Run came to the site, but I wouldn't go as far as calling him terrible... The weird review guy is terrible, Yatzhee might not be as funny as it used to be, but it's far from being THAT bad!
-
What? Are you guys implying Yahtzee is as bad as this guy?
-
I wouldn't call it an angry review, but he is being overly harsh... But this video... Is he troll baiting or something? He doesn't seem to know what he's doing... Maybe he's a "neo retro" gamer and hasn't played any of the older games before? I watch a lots of video reviews and let's play and the never go blind into a game... they at least look up how to play the game!

He seems to be old enough to be from the 80's era and he gives games a weirdness rating... he gave Altered Beast a 5/10.... wouldn't that make it normal? He didn't have a weirdness rating before, maybe he added it because people complained... He seems to be a retro gamer that makes fun of the games he should love just to entertain some "whippersnappers", or maybe he really is a whippersnapper that just showing interest in retro games to get material and he doesn't know what he's doing?

I got the game recently but with all the crazy Xmas sales I didn't have time to try it out until now! I can see why people say this game is hard, you make one mistake and your dead! But I somehow beat the miss boss on my first try? Of course, I died several times trying to get to it... But now I have no idea what to do next, I heard there is a certain order that makes the game easier, but that's about it....

At first I thought it was just like they joked about in Penny Arcade and it would be like those casual game sites where the "club membership" that gives you a free credit which you can use on a game is actually the price you'd pay for the game anyway! It looks like each month you'll get one free PSN game, two minis and one PSOne game, plus discounts on other things and other free content like avatars and themes.... for about 15$, which sounds like an OK deal? But then I realized it's not 15$ a month, but every 90 days, so you're getting 3 PSN, 6 minis and 3 PSOne games for that price! That's almost a dollar for each game! The big downside is... You don't choose which game you'll get free... I'm sure you'll eventually get a stinker or two, if they have to give a 5 game each month, but I'm assuming that you'll eventually get very good ones? Also, if you got this would ever buy a PSN, mini or PSOne game every again? I wouldn't, just in case it comes for free in the Plus service in the future.

I don't if other people like G-Police, but I had the PC version and hated it... the PSX plays worse, so you can imagine my opinion on that one...

Game Dev Story has an ending? I guess it's a time limit, right? I just beat Cthulhu Saves The World.... it has a space kitty in it... that is all...

Not if you go on a plane trip, even if the trip is just an hour long, you're going to spend a few hours waiting for the plane and then a few hours until you reach your hotel.

It reminds me of 3D Dot Game Heroes! :3

Yeah, it's actually safer to buy the first version for some strange bizarre reason...
-
Yeah, but when will it happen? And how much will it increase? What it's just 4.5 hours in the next version? Not to mention you never know if the games that will come out on the release date will be available when the next version is out?
-
Yeah, 3 hours mean you'll probably have to have it plugged in constantly, but then again, it seems the 3D only works when it's perfectly still, so... the 3DS is actually less portable than the Virtual Boy? I'm debating whether to wait for the next version of the 3DS, but... How do we know the battery life will be really worth the wait? Will they actually improve the battery life?

It finally happened, Sony US offered a PSOne game on Playstation Plus that Sony EU couldn't.... America got Spyro the Dragon and Europe got.... G-Police? I can't wait until next month when America gets Final Fantasy VII and Europe gets The Little Mermaid 2...

A good PSP Mini game? They exist? Apparently, they do! When I got A Space Shooter for 2 bucks I expected a bad arena shooter or maybe a pedobait bullet hell game, but a got... a real shmup? A CLASSIC ONE? The intro presents the main character and I'm actually going to put spoiler tags because they try to do something clever that worked and I don't want to ruin it! The first thing you'll notice is that the game has professional voice acting in it, a audio drama group that works for Canadian radio counts as professionals, right? They are also funny! The game has two kind of levels, normal levels in which you just fight a onslaught of enemies until you reach the boss which is made out of normal enemies in a almost Voltron-like fashion, if you beat it, you get a health upgrade and then there are boss levels, in which you fight a proper boss and you'll get his weapon if you win, which makes it Megaman-y although the weapons don't seem more effective on certain bosses... The Tyrian part comes from the shop, you can't buy new ships, but you can upgrade EVERYTHING! Even the temporary powerups! The name is probably hurting the game a lot... Do you expect a good game with a name like that? The only reason I have it is because it came as part of Playstation Plus.

Tyrian + Mega Man = A Space Shooter for 2 bucks!

Oh, right.. I forgot to mention how the first boss level is ridiculously hard compared to the others... I beat him after beating the other boss in this area... -
I got the game, but with the Steam backlog I got through the holiday sales I haven't had time to play it...
-
I just beat Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet... Which I expected to be "LEGO Marvel Heroes"... It was, but it wasn't as good! You only get to play as 13 heroes, you never unlock any new ones, but you can unlock new costumes. Instead of collecting studs, you collect pieces of the Infinity Stones... which give you nothing, I guess I've been spoiled by the Red Brick, but I expected some reward for collecting them... It doesn't have all the extra stuff you get in the Lego games... the base has nothing to do in it and the "challenge mode" is just the mini games... It's not a bad game, you'll like it if you like the LEGO games, but at the same time you'll be disappointed because it's lack of content.

It looks like I picked a good year to upgrade my PC! (This time I mean it)

I think I've found the most ridiculous "online" game ever...
Tanukitsune posted a topic in Video Gaming
I'm pretty sure I'm the only person here who has played this since this is a game that only game out in my country, Spain... Although you might have played the original game it's a remake of... The remake has the same name and... it's basically the same game, only 3D... The ridiculous part? How the online play works! I know it's only a beta, but it's still ludicrous! Here's the deal, when you install the game, you get a "credit" which you can use to "purchase" ONE level, each day you login, you get points towards a new credit... I have no idea how many, because the second ridiculous thing about the game made me stop playing... When I died the first time, I saw a message saying that "Sparta" was inviting me to the next game, I didn't really get what was going on, so I clicked... and I got an UNSKIPPABLE AD for a game called Sparta... wanna guess what happened when I died again? Yep, I got another unskippable ad for the SAME game... You would assume there would be a "Will you shut up if I give you some money?" button, but no luck... The part of me that is mildly nostalgic of the game wants to play more, but the fact I have to login daily for points and the ads make want to never click on the game again... It make we wonder how the game will work when it goes gold, I sure hope they remove the whole point system and the ads, unless they are going for some "free-mium" system... What about you? Have you seen anything worse or just as bad? EDIT: Out of curiosity, I tried the game again.. You get 2 point per login and you need 90 to unlock the next level, so... you have to wait 45 days to unlock a new level? I also found out it DOES have store, and it is kinda Farmville-ish, you can buy powerups, not upgrades.... And it seems I was unlucky the first time because I actually beat the level this time and I only died twice and got two different ads... I wouldn't mind if the store had upgrades and not powerups, and the fact that it takes so many points to unlock a new level practically forces you to buy one... So yeah, it's still pretty terrible... -

Yep, the site has plenty of gameplay footage... I might give it another chance when it's no longer in beta if they drop the points and ads and just charge you for the game... -
I already bought Crysis even though my PC probably can't run it because I'm going to try to upgrade my PC (this time for real) in Spring and now I'm thinking of buying Divinity II, except.... what are the chances of this game actually dropping price permanently? The normal version of Divinity II is already 19.99 so is it safe to assume Divinity II Dragon Knight Saga will too? You do not want to know how many games I've bought on all this bloody sales... I'll just say I don't I'll need to buy a new game for a decade or two?
-
The improved version is on sale on Steam for a day... I might get it, but.... I doubt it will run that well until I upgrade my computer next year.... What are the chances of this game dropping price again in 3-4 months?
