Some fiction magazines and podcasts would say otherwise, but I was just asking. That's why I added a (?) to indicate I wasn't sure, I just made a wild guess. The game market is ridiculous hostile nowadays, there are just too many variables to deal with when publishing a PC game, not only piracy, but compatibility issues, DRM, whether will buy the digital or physical version of the game, from who they will buy the copy.... The 360 is showing it's age, but it still seems to be the favorite amongst gamers and they don't have to deal with most of the issues I just mentioned. The game industry is getting ridiculously unforgiving, and publishers will always take the least risky route. Publishing games on PC is more risky than on 360, it's as simple as that.

Isn't any anachronistic technology what makes something steampunk? But still, mechs in 1950's (?) with generic looking characters doesn't sound that appealing.... Double Fine is known for making weird, practically bat shit insane worlds, this sounds so tame compared to their other premises. I also fear there might be a bit of tower defense in this game, one of the cannons shot turrets.

First Double Fine makes a game I'll never be able to play because you need to live in a mansion to have enough room to play a Kinect game and now this?:\ I sure hope it won't be as generic as it looks...

Giant Bomb Live! — Idle Thumbs Reunion!

I missed the song, but this is pretty awesome! I assume this will show up in their podcast later? -
Stop trying to be such cleverdecks!

No, no, no! I'm sure he's thinking of Ron Grossman!

Maybe, but isn't America more conservative when it comes to sexual content? Maybe it was Nintendo of America who said they don't want this game coming out in the US? They do have the power to do that, right?
-
Oops, sorry about that.

According to Destructuiod(who didn't provide any links or proof) TT is going to make King's Quest games.... What the... Am I the only one thinking it's going to be weird to play a King's Quest game that doesn't have moon logic and won't kill you every five seconds? I doubt TT would give it moon logic just to please the fans, but I guess they'll be a bit harder than the average TT game? And how does this affect the Silver Lining fan games? Oh, they are also making Puzzle Agent 2! I'm seriously surprised to hear this... Imagine the same company that make the latest Monkey Island games is going to make King's Quest... So bizarre! Oddly enough I was watching this video when I heard the news! XD

I actually have a metric ton of "shit" to plug... I have a ton of games and movies I'm going to put on sale soon and I was thinking of offering them here first... Would anybody have any interest in relatively in obscure old PC games? I could create a thread for this, but if nobody wants old PC games I won't bother.

I just hit pause when they start talking about important stuff and I can't make it out, but what I really love to do is listen to chiptune podcasts, because modern game music tends to suck...

While the combat is much better in Two Thrones, it still feels a bit broken, I could spend ages fighting the enemy normally or get over in seconds with the jump and slash attack from the prince and the Triangle + Circle smash attack of the dark prince.

I finally beat the Sands of Time Trilogy, the final game fixed EVERYTHING that I hated in Warriors Within and it wrapped up everything pretty well!
-
Does it even matter that it won't be on sale in the US? I don't remember that well, but I could swear RapeLay wasn't for sale in the US and yet it still got attacked by the US media, although that game probably deserves it.
-
I'm going through the POP: Sands of Time Trilogy and I've already beaten the first two games. I can see why people hated the second one, not only is much dark and grimmer (MY GAME IS SO BROODING THE FOUNTAINS CRY TEARS, BITCHES!), but this games "gimmick" makes me feel that a third of this game was unnecessary, the backtracking is ludicrous!

Back in the 90's there was a PC and Amiga game in Europe called "La Colmena" which was basically a board game with dumb things to get you and your partner "in the mood", although I'm not sure how many players it was for, but I think it's safe to assume it was just two... I didn't realize until now that another messed up part about this was the fact that it's TWO couples trying to get into "the mood" at the same time!

Does this game have cheap death and dead ends? What I mean is if I can play it without the fear or screwing up?
-
Wait.... WHAT? How can this game be rated PG? Is this an April fools joke released a month early? This is just too much! XD
-
OH MY GOD! This isn't the first game of it's kind, but... it's by Ubisoft... and it's on the Wii... This is just so disturbing!
-
Sweet! I can't wait till it's downloaded! :3

(Unconfirmed)Telltale tackles.. KING'S QUEST?
Tanukitsune replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Hmm, I think that in games like Torin's Passage and KQ7 they removed the chances of completely ruining the game and if you died you could start from just before you died? But "Sierra = Moon Logic & cheap deaths" is still deeply ingrained in my brain! Wow, I didn't even know there was a third "Guy from Andromeda"! It still looks like it would be a bad idea to bring most of them back into the game industry. -

Hmm... You're right, none of them seem to be working in the game industry anymore, do they even know how modern gaming works? They probably think dead ends and cheap death are still fashionable! -
(Unconfirmed)Telltale tackles.. KING'S QUEST?
Tanukitsune replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
How many versions of the LSL collection are they? I think they released more after that, but each had less somehow? I must have the same version as you, because I had no idea LSL6 had a full talkie version! I'm pretty sure I made a thread about how the last LSL game from Team 17 was the most glorious train wreck ever? I've never played a game that's so dreadful and awesome at the same time! -
(Unconfirmed)Telltale tackles.. KING'S QUEST?
Tanukitsune replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
I was going to say how unlikely it is for them to get the people who worked on those games, but... After seeing who they got to work on BTTF, who knows? Telltale just keeps surprising us! -
It still seems "Persona-like", half the game seems to be normal life interaction and the other half seems to be dealing with a strange force that is running amok that only you know about.
