  1. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Woah, did that loadout make a difference! And now I got "void"? Yay! OK, I think I'm in. XP
  2. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Hmm, I think I have those functions, I might try them later, but I still kinda have a "bad taste" in my mouth, if that makes any sense.

Yeah, you get upgrades as new functions, but you never get something like "do 25% more damage", as I got more functions many of them never seem to "stack" in a satisfactory way and always have to take away some power to use the upgrades' one. Like the one with the "scatter bombs", why would I even use it as an upgrade when it does 50% less damage? I really loved the first times I visited the beach, it was perfect how the first challenges seems to teach me how to use powers effectively, but eventually they became too much of a hassle for just a few XP. As for where I was in the game? I was in some library, trying to get something to open a locked door. As I noticed the enemies just had more HP, shields and cloaking and I still had the same HP I had at the start (or at least it feels that way), it really annoyed me, yes, I could deal with these enemies and get those powers, but... It just stopped feeling rewarding and it looked like the enemy could use their powers for longer than me.

I don't know how to say this, but... I quit Transistor. The enemies are just getting bigger health bars and more annoying and I don't feel stronger, not to mention I got a bad case of thinking I was close to end only to find out it was much further away than I thought.

I quit Valiant Hearts, the game suffers from what I call the "AAA slog", a.k.a. making the game longer because "short games sucks". I almost quit after a gruelingly long and repetitive level, but Anna the medic changed the gameplay a bit, even though I hated her rhythm mini-game, but it even felt forced and shoehorned. At least I managed to reach the point where you dodge cars that move to notes of the Can-Can tune. If it weren't for Rayman and a few of their indie titles, I'd say Ubisoft is a bit dead to me? Well, most AAA companies are dead to me lately.

Wow, I haven't posted here in a while. The Emptiness is the cheesiest "hidden object games" I've played in a while, some jump scares will actually work, others will make you die laughing... I must admit there was a certain painting I couldn't walk past normally after a jump scare, but it's mostly cheesy. All you is find letter to open the seal in the next area with some minor puzzle solving. Tokyo Hosto.... I'm pretty sure the game is this way on purpose, it's a short visual novel about being a male host in a bat, but it's just the most cheesy and ridiculous thing ever, including the ending. Supercharged Robot VULKAISER is like those old 70's robot shows and you combine robots to fight bosses, the game acknowledges which robot you use and in-between level the pilot of the other bots will comment on the mission, give hints on how to use the robot or just talk. Will Fight for Food, a simple brawler where you can talk and take the pacifist route in some scenes, which made the game a bit boring. Abyss Odyssey, a rogue fighter where you try to descent several levels to reach an evil mage. I had a very lucky run where I bought a very powerful sword, but it was still a bloody miracle I made it.
  7. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Is it really that good? Comixology happens to have a Gillen and Mckelvie sale with Wicked and Dive and Phonogram now, they also seem to have an Aspen sale... I don't know about Aspen apart from Fathom which I found boring. Aspen comics look like "cheesecake comics" and not even in the funny way. :\
  8. anime

I just saw Wolf Children and it's interesting to see how each child chose a different path, but next I watched Millenium Actress and it was pretty amazing, was the mixing of her movies and real life supposed to symbolize she'd lost touch with reality? Some moments did get a bit confusing.
  9. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Maybe the reason nobody went to see it because trolls are anonymous? Either way, I'm pretty sure GG will be alive as long as women get harassed for speaking about problematic things in gamer culture, or even just because they're gamers and MRA don't want women in their hobbies.
  10. Nintendo 3DS

The plastic is coming off my 3DS directional nub, does anybody if they are really necessary or do I need to contact Nintendo? (Because I'm positive I don't have another option.)
  11. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I really wish I could continue, but I'm quitting After Burner: Black Falcon, it didn't bother me that much when they just started to recycle stages and make them longer and harder, until I reached an ice level where things were just unfair. I have to constantly dodge enemy fire, but I can't attack while I'm rolling and now not only do I have to face different mid-bosses at the same time, the moment I start shooting one a bomber comes from behind and takes half of my health before it's even in my aim sight. To top things off, not only does it have very hard to dodge ice barriers, getting through them while dodging enemy fire is just too much, I either crash or get gunned down.

I'm pretty sure my memory erased the fact that I got through the Endless Eight along with the whole series BECAUSE I watched all EE episodes back in the day. And I just sat through all of them again today, although at least I have my Vita to make it more bearable. There is on episode in the middle where Kyon starts thinking about toy planes, but that gets brought up again. Just watch the first and last episodes of the Endless Eight saga, the rest are almost literally the same even dialogue-wise. I really hope my brain won't make me forget this again if I even dare watch this show again. Or just watch the Nagato spin off instead, there is less Mikuru abuse for starters and it has it's own version of the Endless Eight but with no time looping.
  13. anime

I'm "re-watching" The Melancholy of Haruhi and I'm seeing a lot of parallels with the Nagato spinoff, but I my brain seems to have blocked the show from my memory because I could remember a thing about it. And I think I know why... the "Endless Eight", who on Earth makes a time loop eight episodes long and one third of the whole series? I'm sorry, but this is painful to watch. I'm at the fifth of eight episodes and it seems literally the episodes except for some minor details at the beginning and end.... and I still have three episodes to go? How on Earth did this show get this popular? I don't care that if in the original series they weren't aired in this order, EIGHT time loop episodes is UNACCEPTABLE! Instead of having Kyon make some realizations at the beginning and end of each episode, they could just fast forward the repeating parts and not make us watch the same thing eight times.

I just beat 3rd Birthday, it's not a Parasite Eve sequel, but a game with Aya Brea in it? And like most modern Squenix games, the plot is so confusing that I wasn't even sure who I was by the ending. I have to say about the dumb torn clothes mechanic, you look kinda skimpy when you get hit enough which was highly suspicious, but when I got a maid outfit after beating the game? Yeah, it's pretty upsetting. I actually enjoyed Senran Kagura and other blatant "titillation", but it's one thing to get this kind of content in the equivalent of a Troma movie, and another to get in a more "serious" movie... ugh. But as a game? I kinda enjoyed it! I don't if this is telling of modern FPS games, but I kept expecting bullet-sponges and never got them, expected the game to have busywork and didn't get any and just for that it made more enjoyable that most modern shooters I've played.

I just beat Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure, it's a very whimsical story about a girl who makes friends with monsters and then has to rescue them from a dark prince. Each level has you use your drill to clear paths, defeat enemies and maybe even find some secrets. If you find every item and defeat every enemy without dying in a level, you get gold medal which you can exchange for powerful accessories. I couldn't help but to play on beginner's mode when it said I wouldn't slip on ice, I just can't turn down that offer, I hate slippery level. This might be the first game I've seen do this, I've seen games make platforming easier by adding more platforms, but completely removing something like slippery platforms? That has to be a first, right?
  16. anime

Well, I'm glad I decided to watch the Haruhi stuff from the beginning, because I had forgotten everything about that show.

I recently finished the Disappearance Of Yuki Nagato and it's the perfect example of what I look for in a show, just like with Steven Universe it has "dumb precious babies" that make the dramatic parts more dramatic... And boy did the drama hit me hard with this one... T_T I have no idea if I've watched the Disappearance of Haruhi, I find Haruhi a bit annoying, should I bother watching it? Also, has anybody watched PreCure? A lot of people I know like it, but the show is a bit stale with only two main characters, does anybody know if the newer season just have a different and better cast? It's really hard to find "precious babies" shows, but there has to be something in this style out there, right?

Is it worth it to 100% the game? I left most temples with a gem or two I just couldn't find. I beat Hexyz Force a JRPG that's pretty typical, but with two story lines, I only played one and it was interesting and left me wanting to play the other side. The most unique feature about this game is not only do you only get one "main" weapon for the whole game, which can be upgraded with "force points", there is no spell to heal out of a battle and you must use force points to heal or find a "heal point" which are only next to save points in rare cases and most of the time need to purified and have a relatively tough boss battle. I have died a few times just trying to beat the healing point boss. I also like that the hero on the side I picked starts lazy and a bit unreliable becoming strong and responsible by the end.
  19. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I hate to do, but I'm going to have to quit Aeternoblade, it's a nice Metroidvania with a time mechanical, but the combat doesn't get interesting until you buy a few combo upgrades. My main problem is with a boss, that simply heals itself almost completely after I attack it. I tried to figure out if what makes him retreat and heal is a timer or how much he's attacked, but I just can't figure it out. I'm not sure grinding will help since I nearly maxed out my attack until the next area and the internet doesn't seem to have a solution, most walkthoughs haven't reached half of what I've done in the game.

I just beat LEGO Ninjago Nindroids, a LEGO game I never heard of before, based on some LEGO cartoon I've never seen and while it's very much like every LEGO game it does have big differences, with no hub the game has it's Golden Bricks hidden in challenges in each level. There is only one minikit hidden for level, but each level has a few kill/collect all of "X", except sometimes there is usually margin for error. Oddly enough, there is NO margin for error for the time trials, some have bloody 40 seconds to beat them and nothing is a bigger turn off for me in a game than a timer. Even with "fast build" it's too close for comfort. I guess I could only recommend this if you have played every other LEGO game and want more, if not, you're better off with any of the other LEGO games.
  21. Satoru Iwata has passed away

When I woke up I just saw people posting images of Satoru and thought it was just people appreciating him, I was devastated when I found out the truth. R.I.P.

I beat Shovel Knight and I don't think I can say anything new except.... I kinda expected it to be harder? I expected every level to be like the airship level. The game is stupendous, I only expected it to be as hard as the games that inspired it, it's no cakewalk, but still, I barely died at any bosses up until the final areas.

I just finished Citizens of Earth, the game is so Earthbound-y that even the final battle is like the Gygas battle, the main difference is that you have to recruit people to fight for you and it's not as balanced as I thought? I didn't even recruit everybody and I was so overlevelled after I was done with recruiting that even the final boss fell in two turns, also the healing items kinda suck? They only go up to healing 50HP and become worthless when you have a healer and even more since you heal after battles and there is only ONE STORE for each kind of item. There a few more thing that show that maybe they didn't think it through completely, but nothing really ruins the game. It needs an extra layer of polish, but it's still a hundred times better than that Boot Hill/Earthbound clone.
