I'm assuming they don't have one server with every PSN account but one server per region? When the "original" anon PSN take down happened I could access my Euro PSN account, but not the US one, so I'm assuming they don't have everything centralized? Then again, they did take down the whole PSN instead of just the US part so I might be wrong.
  2. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

At least it's coming out in the US... I live in Europe! Speaking of Moe Japandering, Muchi Muchi Pork is so messed up, it's pandering people who like "fat chicks", except they aren't fat, just not anorexic... This is fat? Sheesh! And... I feel so dirty for posting this pic...
  3. Nintendo 3DS

When I took the 3DS out of my pocket I saw that the "pass" light was on, I was confused since I was only at the market and at the bank (which was nearly empty). It turns out it was the "other" kind of pass notification, telling me of an update! For a second I thought the shopping channel was up but.... my 3DS was asking me to do an update I had already done. Double letdown all the way?
  4. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

The first ending I got in Death Smiles was the bath scene one, that felt pretty awkward. I'm kinda pissed off at the "moe-fication" of the shmup genre... Parodius has now became Otomedius and I feel dirty by just looking at the loli trailers... Which is weird since the last Parodius has actually half naked women in them, of course, these women were of legal age and the game was a comedy shooter, Otomedius seems like it's just Japandering.
  5. Nintendo 3DS

I just counted the ones in the European region and it's 19, I guess some of those 6 extra games are "TBA" and maybe one or two are actually only Japan only?
  6. Sony Shitshow

Ugh, I think the real failure here isn't with security, but with the handling of the issue, everybody is panicking and cancelling their credit cards... I work in a small market and even they were all abuzz with the Sony news, they should make a new press release soon with something more specific. I just realize that since PSN is down, my PSP is "locked" to it's US account, so I can only play the downloaded US games I have until PSN is back up. People have said that Microsoft gave away a free game when XBL was down for a day, I don't remember this happening at all, but I wonder if Sony will try to give us something free too? At least the PSN+ users, because we are paying for an account?

So basically, we have no idea what the hacker got or how much he got, right? How am I to change my PSN password if PSN is down? I don't even remember it, but I'm sure I don't have anything important with that password... I have to type that password with a gamepad, not a keyboard, how complex could it be? I really feel like Sony isn't giving us enough info and some people are panicking, while most are being their "normal" angry little nerdlings.... Some kid at the Sony blog claims that he heard that someone's credit card was already used illegally, the fact it didn't happen to him seem convenient... I have a debit card on my EU and I'm not cancelling it unless I see some fraudulent activity going on, but it looks like if the credit card thing is real, it should only affect US PSN users?

It's hard to know what really happened, the fact that the "attack" happened right before the "Holy Week" started didn't help much either. Some people are saying that the hacker just hacked some admin's account and he MIGHT have use it to access our info. It's looks like I was "lucky", I bought some PSN games for my PSP for my Easter trip right before PSN fell, I still have money in that "wallet" though. I do think some people are making strange leaps of logic: -Did Sony ever say the hacker has EVERY BODIES' info? The press release shows an email with the info about the outage, I never got one. Not everybody checks the blogs or other gaming sites that often, did Sony forget to inform everybody or are the only informing the people who got hacked for real? -People say Sony said they knew what happened a week ago, but from what I've read, they knew of the security breach a week ago, they never said they knew what the hacker did the moment they found out about the breach. Yes, they could have told us about the breach, but would it be a good idea to make us panic before they knew what the hacker did? I don't know much about hacking and data security, but from what I've heard something doesn't add up, shouldn't our info be encrypted? The "hacker hacked an admin" seems to be the most logical and probable situation and Sony's real mistake is not giving us enough information and not giving it sooner, but.... I still don't believe they knew that early what happened? EDIT: Of course, it's also possible that the hackers hacked some PSN accounts, but I don't think he had the time or resources to hack EVERY account. That would explain the email thing, maybe only a few accounts were hacked and only those who were affected got the email?
  9. Nintendo 3DS

Are you sure about the Japan thing? Apart from one or two niche anime or "moe" stuff I don't see anything different, the rest is still "TBA". If we don't get the anime games it's probably due to licensing problems and the niche "moe"-ish games... It's dating sims and "witch touching" if you know what I mean.
  10. Game reviews

Maybe the game wasn't a 10/10, but it was a bloody good small press underdog. Didn't Giant Bomb or someone else vouch for it too? I could swear a lot of people were excited about the game back then.
  11. Game reviews

I'm pretty sure nobody really likes reviews unless they agree with what you think, some people don't want good games, they want to know (or believe) that the game they bought was a good purchase. I watch "review shows", but I watch them more for the show than for the reviews... Lately they are more show than review anyway. Are you talking about the Warriors games? Those are far from obscure.
  12. Metro 2033?

I love the atmosphere so far, I love the story so far, but once the fighting starts.... I lose interest, I'm not just in the mood for shooters. Would it be that bad to try to cheat or simply watch a longplay? I really want to view more of the world.
  13. Nintendo 3DS

If you don't like fighters because of all complex moves, SSFIV has an easy mode where the super moves are buttons on the lower screen and you can assign super moves to every other button. More and more fighters seems to be doing this, which is why I probably still play them! (Seriously, complex button combinations need to go the way of the dodo)
  14. General Video Game Deals Thread

I just purchased Metro 2033 and my first GamersGate game, they seem to have a sale on Rockin' Android games!
  15. Nintendo 3DS

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles and SSFIV are the only games I have right now to play on it! I just back from a long trip and expected that I would get at least ONE Street Pass hit amongst the Easter weekend traffic and... not a single hit? Are you kidding me? Nobody brought the 3DS for their Easter trip? I know a lot of people don't have one yet, and maybe cars move too fast for it too work?
  16. How on Earth is it possible that there isn't a thread for this game? Did someone create one with a "joke" title that didn't appear in the search result? I even searched manually to make sure! Anyway, this a game from an ex-Capcom founded company called Game Republic, which had a bit of controversy for being similar to Team Ico's Last Guardian. The game does have a bit of a Team Ico feel to it, although it felt like I play a weird combination of Ico and Zelda where Yorda is Link? You are thief from a hard to pronounce and spell kingdom that has been taken over by darkness, you were raised by animals and can understand them. You animal friends have told you that there is a guardian in nearby temple that can stop this darkness, you find this creature, Teotl, but it's sealed and weak. The darkness has sealed his power in fruits that you must him so he'll regain his strength and powers. The game is basically you and Teotl exploring the kingdom to get his powers back and defeat the "dark bosses" that seal the entrance to the big bad. Yes, it's one of the games where the powers let you reach the next area and there is backtracking and collecting, but the reason I find this game so great that it's done so well! The puzzles are never overly complicated, if you have to pull several levers to reach something it's pretty obvious, you might have to try again because you made a mistake, but there is no trial and error and the collecting is also pretty straight forward, you might need to stop and thing for a second or two, put you'll never need a guide. The only annoying part about the game is a "memory collection", you must collect the memories of Teotl in the form of fireflies, which only appear at night, there is only 35 to collect, but you WILL have to stop and wait for the night to get them all. The bosses are mildly puzzly, which is right amount of puzzly a boss should be. It's pretty easy to figure out how to defeat them and if you can't Teotl will give you a hint. I really loved this game, the exploration in this game is just right, and so is just about every else in this game. Seeing that this thread was created several months after the games release, I'm guess it just went under every bodies' radar, but now that it's so cheap, I really recommend that you try it out!
  17. God of War

I just beat God of War III and.... I'M SO ANGRY! That was that most B.S. ending ever! Phew... I've never been this angry at a game before... I'm better now!
  18. Recently completed video games

I just beat God of War III and... I have to find the original thread and go AVGN for a while before a explode with rage!
  19. Recently completed video games

He's the fourth character from Journey to the West, the story the game is based on. He usually looks like a monk or a water imp (kappa).
  20. Majin and The Forsaken Kingdom: Forsaken to obscurity?

Strange, I was never bothered or even noticed most of the complains people are having...
  21. Recently completed video games

I just beat Enslaved and while I loved it I must say.... WHERE THE HELL IS SANDY?!? How could they take him out? That's like retelling Robin Hood and taking out Friar Tuck!
  22. Majin and The Forsaken Kingdom: Forsaken to obscurity?

I'd complain, but I pushed the game back too until my backlog cleared up a little, I guess this is in many people's "I'll get it eventually, maybe?" list, which explains why nobody is talking about it.
  23. Nintendo 3DS

I got Street Fighter and Samurai Warriors Chronicles, SF IV 3D is awesome, Samarui Warriors is.. Samurai Warriros, but with a user generated character which is very weird.
  24. Majin and The Forsaken Kingdom: Forsaken to obscurity?

Strange, I never had any trouble with the thief... The giant sometimes casts spells you didn't ask for and if you give an order an attack can interrupt it, he's slow but the game would be too easy if he was as fast as the thief.
  25. Majin and The Forsaken Kingdom: Forsaken to obscurity?

What are you talking about? The barrel Teotl has to blown at to make it sway so you can jump on it? I only missed once because I jumped too early.
