Since the Next Big Thing is either a remake or a sequel to Hollywood Monsters, I'll probably get it when it's cheaper. I was a long weekend over here, so I've finished quite a few things.... Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage, Samurai Warriors Chronicles and Sengoku Basara, which basically means I've played nothing but KOEI Warriors style games this week... Although Sengoku Basara is a blatant rip-off of the Samurai Warriors series, they probably get away with it since they are both based on the same historical era. Either that or it's been ripped off so often it's a genre now, which be possible, this isn't the only Warriors rip-off out there (N3 anyone) Oh, and I just beat Dead Rising 2: Case West which kinda sucks because you can only play as Frank West as a co-op partner and it seems to be much less fun, I could swear they made this to please the West fans and nothing else.
  2. Questions about PSP and PS2

It looks like there is a demo, but... yeah... PSN is down.
  3. Back to the Future

I've beaten the latest chapter and all I can say is that finale is looking like it will be awesome!
  4. Nintendo 3DS

It looks terrible if you don't use the Start + Select thing, and great if you do. When is the E-Shop coming? Early May or late May?
  5. Recently completed video games

I beat Adventures to Go, a very light and fun SJRPG, it was almost too easy to "break" the game since you can simply fill your inventory with items that will mess up all the boss fights.
  6. Sony Shitshow

There is no need for that, I just pointed it out so people wouldn't read the same long conversation twice, while it was a different site, they conversation posted is the same. We've all posted something that's been posted before so, no worries.

I'm positive this was posted before. I wonder if people are going to switch to PSN cards only now? While your credit cards will be safe if you use this method.... they are just so wasteful! A whole game case for one tiny card? The latest Sony blog update only bothers to say that assure that our trophies and PS+ cloud saves are safe and that they are "evaluating" ways to compensate us. So.. yeah, we can guarantee your trophies are safe, but your info... Uh... BEHIND YOU A THREE HEADED-MONKEY! Does Sony really think we need to hear our trophies are safe? Did anybody think for a second that they could be in danger? Does anybody really care that much? The "funny" part is that they intend to compensate for our "extraordinarily patience"...
  8. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

I only know of it because I saw a review of it on Ancient Dos Games.
  9. Sony Shitshow

So you can vouch of 1password's safety? Having something external deal with my passwords sounds kinda terrifying, then again, I'm probably sounding as paranoid as the people who are canceling their credits card by saying that. PS: That clip is made of awesome, I almost didn't click on it because I though it was of another movie with nearly the same name, I guess this is a play on that movie's name?
  10. Sony Shitshow

Why don't you guys simply write them down in a notebook? You can hide it a little too, but I'm hoping you can trust the people you live with to not break into your room and if they do, I doubt they come after a notebook for passwords. While it may be true no site is truly safe from hackers, but if your own home isn't safe, you have bigger troubles than identity theft.
  11. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

Yeah, I got the original version on CD a few years ago, while it's probably the best non-Japanse PC game, it feels way too long, if I shmup doesn't end in an hour I start to get impatient! XD Doesn't it have a hidden carrot ship?
  12. Sony Shitshow

Well, considering I have debit card and not a credit card and it's attached to a "spendings account" and not my savings account, I might be one of the few who can afford the risk. That account practically exists only so I can buy things online are rarely has more that what I intend to spend online that week. There is still identity theft though. But how does identity theft work anyway? They can use your data to get a credit card for themselves? That doesn't sound like it would work in my country, they have to contact you by phone to activate the card and they actually try to make sure it's really you who is getting the card. Is it easier to get a credit card in America?
  13. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

Well, the video game rental store did have imports, but now that I've seen some footage of Axelay, I'm positive it was this game I rented, I remember the switching between vertical and horizontal stages and the lava stage! Hmm, I think Europe never had that many shmups to begin with, the only console on which I had more than one shmup per system was the Dreamcast. I used to be a day one perch guy until I realized half the games I bought ended up being unplayed for so long they ended up at budget price when I got to them, so... I buy them when they are cheap, that way I feel less bad if they end up in my backlog! XD
  14. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

Hmm, I think I rented Alesta back in the day, because it looks so familiar? Oh, and don't worry about importing these games I don't think any of them cost me more than 30€, PSP imports aren't are expensive as 360 or PS3 ones, specially since most of these games are old enough to be in whatever they call the "Platinum" pricing over there in Japan. Japanese imports are only ridiculously expensive if you buy them the day they come out, if you wait enough time, they'll be much cheaper. I consider myself a budget gamer, I don't buy 60€ games, I buy three 20€ ones!
  15. Sony Shitshow

It is? So they said they had no evidence of credit card info theft in the first press release and people STILL panicked and got their cards replaced? While I'm angry at them for just repeating themselves for repeating in this "new" post, I'm mystified by the mass panic, since when does "no evidence" reads as "the hacker has your credit card, cancel it now!"? Then again, my "please remain calm" reads as "I'm defending Sony" for some reason...
  16. Sony Shitshow

So Sony's PR finally made an update on the situation. They gone from saying there was "a possibility that your info was taken" to: NO EVIDENCE! See! I told you they just said the previous stuff to cover their assess, I hope all you paranoid people had fun replacing your credits cards for nothing! Patience=1 Paranoia=0 While I'm still angry as hell with them for taking this long, I'm happy that they finally gave an update and confirmed how unlikely it is that my debit card info was really stolen. I love how I'm the melodrama queen for telling you guys to calm down and not be paranoid, oh you anon taggers are so hilarious!
  17. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

I don't actually own Gradius V, most of my shmup collection is on PSP/PSN, I imported every shmup collection I heard of! No Moai heads in Gradius V? That's... almost sacrilege? I thought the moai head was the symbol of Gradius? I did love Gradius Gaiden on the PSP though! I don't know what you have, but since you have a PSP you should really check out the shmup heaven that is the PSP, they have, if you'll willing to import from Japan, the Lifeforce collection, the Twinbee collection, the Parodius collection (the only one were you can play the original MSX game), the Star Soldier Collection and a very weird collection that has some visual novels called Galaxy Fraulein and the rarest and most expensive PCEngine shmup of all time, Sapphire, it's pretty amazing, it's practically the PCEngine's swan song game! Just recently I discovered the treasure trove that is the Japanese PSN market, they have SO MANY SHMUPS on the PSOne and quite a few on the PCEngine, I only tried out the Cotton series for starters, I would buy a new PSN card and get more, but yeah... PSN is dead right now.
  18. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

Pfft, Aracana Hearts is pretty tame, I don't see the loli perviness that appears to be in other games, but yeah I hate seeing 12 year girls in these games, but like you said, I'm playing them for the genre or mechanics, not for the loliness. Is there any modern non-loli shmup out there? Even when you aren't a pair of underage flying panties, you at least playing a game where the pilot is a little girl.
  19. Sony Shitshow

Argh, even the local news are talking about it, and now I'm seeing several stories about being suing Sony and annalists are saying Sony is likely to lose billions and Sony... still won't make a statement? I don't know what the hell is going on there, but it looks like Sony is so screwed compared to anybody else involved... If worse comes to worse, I just hope the "Sony exclusive" indie companies are able to survive this, because while Sony might be crippled terribly by this PSN disaster, the people behind the Pixel Junk series, Mod Nation and others are going to be in serious trouble. Not to mentions all those niche game developers from Japan who sell their games on PSN, they are probably screwed too. While I'm not in the "DEATH TO SONY" bandwagon, I certainly hate whoever is in charge of keeping us informed, that is, if they haven't fired him, her or them for not doing anything to calm or inform the public and let their image get torn to pieces within hours.
  20. Sony Shitshow

I'm calling shenanigans, PSN is down as of now, how could anybody make any purchases on PSN?
  21. Sony Shitshow

Didn't someone say it's illegal in their country to have their credit card info without any decryption? Sony's PR isn't making us feel any better, the only update they have is this, in which they insist the people they hired to investigate the incident didn't tell them what happened until the day before yesterday. Ugh, why won't they tell us what this alleged company knows already? At this rate, even I'm going to start to worry!
  22. Sony Shitshow

Yes, someone hacked into "something" PSN related, they may have actually managed to hack each and every of the 77 million accounts out there, but the fact that Sony is being so vague is what seems to disastrous to me. Sony keeps using "may", "we believe", "probability" and other vague words, we don't really know what the hacker did, it's probably something big since they took down PSN is a good hint, but the fact the Sony's PR isn't telling us what happened is the real problem here. If my memory serves me well, Sony tends to be on the news every once in a while because of some PR disaster. This is like having a "ye olde" messenger tell you that: "The castle is in lock down because something happened to the King, but it's possibly that they had access to the royal treasury?". Sure, whatever happened is probably bad, but the messenger is only making matters worse by not telling us everything, or at least more. We need to hear from a tech guy, not some PR drone! We know nothing about Sony's security. Is our info encrypted? Were is it stored? Can an admin have access to it? Is everything one one server? Is there a server for each region? Who knows, maybe Sony is so incompetent they just have our info in a server whose only protection is a post-it note that reads "Please don't steal" on it, but all I know is that a hacker did something big, but who knows, maybe Sony is so incompetent that they turned PSN off for some stupid reason and don't want to admit it. All we know is that: A) Sony says they were hacked. PSN is down. C) Sony says there is a chance the hacker has your info. It's up to you to think whether there is a hacker buying yachts with your credit card or not, but the vagueness is the most bothersome part here to me. I have no idea how bad the security breach is, but it's obvious that Sony's PR is doing a disastrous job here, just look at how many people are panicking! A PR's job is to make good news look awesome and bad news look like good news, or at least make the bad news not look worse, which is what they doing here. The fact that so many people are going to cancel they credit cards and that some are even going to sue Sony is proof of what a terrible job their PR did. It's possible that Sony's tech team is equally incompetent, but since they won't tell us any more, the real incompetence I see here is from Sony's PR. EDIT: I just realized they probably said that our accounts might have been compromised simply to cover their asses legally in case something does happen to them?
  23. Sony Shitshow

I think this is PR disaster, not a security one. Sony's PR isn't being open with us, they aren't telling us exactly what was stolen and from whom. They say there are 77 million PSN accounts, so I think it's more plausible that the hacker got into an admin account which has access to these accounts, instead of actually hacking 77 million accounts, which it's seems some people think happened. They are probably being very thorough and trying to figure out what the hacker had access to during the attack, but I seriously doubt there is a hacker with my debit card info buying a yacht now... I have a limit anyway... I'm not going to panic until Sonic actually makes another statement, which they should... SOON!
  24. Nintendo 3DS

I just tried an import DS game on mine, it seems to work fine.
  25. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

Maybe it's just that most Japanese games have "loliness" in them in general? The average Japanese RPG has at least one 14 year old (sometimes even younger) and they seem to have less and less clothes each time.
