  1. The sneaky stealth game thread.

So it's easier to steal than in Oblivion? I had forgotten about the Assassin's Guild missions in Oblivion, man, those were fun! Hopefully I'll be able to be sneaky and a wizard? I don't want to chose! Hmm, with a little luck the new Deus Ex will be on Steam holiday sale?
  2. STEAM hacked

I've always used Paypal, so I'm not worrying either, but I know some spoiled brat will demand compensation, even though it's just the forums that are down and you can still access the games and they were open about it and did everything right. I also can't help to notice that it happened close to such important release dates, which makes my inner paranoid think it was done on purpose.

E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy is 50% on Steam, I heard it's "beautifully broken"? Has anybody played it?
  5. The Binding of Isaac

You bet it's about luck, I have no idea which power ups I used, but I once became so powerful I decimated everything! And yeah, it's still fun to try even when you have "bad luck", sometimes a bad item becomes useful combined with another powerup!
  6. The Binding of Isaac

I think I died with 53 coins once, but I got lucky and got the dollar which gives you 99 cents. Although I'm kinda giving up on 100% this game, everything is so random, there are items and bosses I haven't even fought yet, apparently there is Meat Boy boss cameo which I've yet to see. And yet I've gotten the "I AM ERROR" room TWICE!

I finished the rest of the Painkiller series (before I only beat the Black edition) and the quality seems to be getting worse with each game? Overdose was great fun, but it got a bit tedious near the middle of the game, but any game with demon fetus grenades is cool in my book! Redemption seemed a bit lazy, it's short and each level is just a few rooms where you fight enemies until you're sick of it and then fight a little more until you lose your will to live and then.... you do it all over again in the next room. Resurrection? That's such a mess it's almost funny! The level design is so terrible you'll get lost in each level for ages! The route I following in the "Haunted City" is so ridiculous I wouldn't be surprised if anybody gave up on this level and the next level? It's just three screen where you fight until you're sick of it! I also love how every loading screen reminds you that it's a fan made project, as if they think we should forgive it's shoddiness because of it... Oh! The best part of the game is when an angel warned me that I'd have a huge boss fight... only to have the game glitch out and skip it! I think the enemy spawns in the middle of the water and dies immediately, but I can't confirm it since you don't even get to see it! XD

Is it me or has he always donated 2.000$ to each of these Humble Indie Bundles? I'm positive I've always seen him in the top donations list at least.

Ghost Master is ridiculously cheap, but broken as hell. The patches the forums mention are gone, so good look getting it to work? EDIT: It looks like the Voxatron Debut is officially a bundle, if you pay the average price you get Block That Matter and The Binding of Isaac!

I know, I own it, I was asking what he found so wrong about the game. Frankly, I wish they'd let us play the game with the old graphics and the voices, I kinda can't play adventure games without voices anymore unless it's a IF game?

    Happy Birthday, Jake!

How much have they changed? Apart from the freaky faces, I don't remember anything being that off, but I don't play the original as regularly as I used to.

TP, did you beat the updated Steam version I heard about? Did they do anything apart from adding achievements? I recently beat Alice: Madness Returns and I hate how the game But I loved most of the gameplay, the combat was fun, but I hated the collectibles in the game, you collect bottles that do NOTHING unless you collect them all and what you'd get for collecting them is... concept art? I have nothing against concept art, but when you have to put that much effort in it to see it? That's just asking too much. And since it's Halloween I played Braindead 13. I had forgotten how non-linear the game was. Most FMV games are linear, but in this game you can choose in which order you confront "mini-bosses" before the finale and I spent quite a while going in circles until I had a mental map of the game in my brain. Of course, the best part of the game are the hilarious death animations, it's a shame he doesn't scream as much as Dirk though.

Good Old Games is having their Halloween sale too! And if you have an iOS device, Braindead 13 also for sale!

Has anybody mentioned Indie Royale yet? It's a very interesting project and a great deal for indie games! You can pay the price it has and the price will rise for the next person by one cent or you can pay more and the price decreases. I didn't really understand it when I first saw the project, it was not even 2$ yesterday, it was about 3 when I bought it and it's about 4 now. It has Gemini Rue in the pack, which makes it worth it and A.R.E.S. is a decent indie Megaman clone, I haven't played the others.

Did Horace's games ever make it out of the UK? I never knew who he was until recently... As for me, I went to a Red Cross talk today and tomorrow I'll try to apply and if it's available, I'll teach the elderly or immigrant how to use a computer! I was practically the only man there and it was interesting to see the generation gap between the volunteers, the oldest person there kept saying kids today don't care about catastrophes and the youngest person there couldn't understand why we found AIDS so scary a decade or two ago. The rest didn't talk much.

I beat the Riddick games and they are great when it's a stealth game, but the action starts it's pretty standard and I hated the final boss battle for boss games... And the second seems to solve all the issues the first game had, mostly story-wise. it keep making you think you've won when you haven't. And I finally finished Amnesia, it's scarier when you don't see the monster chasing you instead of when you see the monster and have to run and hide from it. I hated most of the non physics puzzles, it had too many lever pulling and valve turning, but loved the physics ones, so it evens out.

I somehow beat the Binding of Isaac... It was a VERY CLOSE call! I still have lots of things to unlock, but I beat it non the less!

Well, they said that if they didn't call in a week that means I didn't get the job, but the major downside I see to this job is the working hours. I don't mind working late, but I don't have a car and it looks like there might not be public transport that late, so I might be a bit screwed.

INTERBANG? ZgRqS_YzR0c I had a job interview today it was only for a part time job at the concession stand at a cinema and it felt too short, they only asked me for my availability and experience. I always feel paranoid when the interview is short, I feel like it means I failed. Did I mention I got the hour wrong and had to go there twice? They never mentioned whether it was AM or PM and it's been so long since I've been to the cinema I didn't know they only opened in the afternoon.
  21. The Binding of Isaac

I don't know much about roguelike games, but it seems like it depends almost more on luck than skill? Will this pill make my stats so up or down? Will I get a decent power up? An yet... I still try to beat the game even with "bad" items. The lemon accident seems useless, but it felt good to beat a boss with it! I know some items decrease stats, but does any item cancel out another's effect? What happens if I pick a second companion? Does the laser cancel the chocolate milk? That's the kind of stuff I need to know! Also, does the game end in the level with the skull on it or does go deeper? Can start from this alleged second area if you reach it?
  22. Project Zomboid

Well, I bought a copy, but I only played a little. I think I screwed up my first game very quickly since I used ALL the wood I had to barricade the house, and the next day the game tells me to fight a zombie, but I don't have a weapon... I suppose the wooden planks would do? But I could tell it was being tutorially since the zombie didn't want to attack for some reason. I hope you don't get sleep and hungry that quickly in the full game, it's could be a nightmare if you had to sleep and eat that often!
  23. Project Zomboid

I was just remembered this game existed when I saw it listed on "savy gamer", but... the price seems to be the same? Either way, since they claim the price will rise once it's out of beta, I "beta" get it now!

Oh, I think Erkki's explanation is making things clear to me, I'll try to remember this. Subbes, the first link said that "uptalking" is the opposite of assertiveness and confidence, which is kinda how I'm feeling now, so I guess it makes sense that I'm abusing the question mark now. And oddly enough, I got a call for a job interview for a cinema! Who gets a job interview call on a Saturday in the afternoon? The worst part and I'm already getting ridiculously nervous, I can barely sit down! Maybe I'm excited and nervous? I don't really know, I didn't even expect to get one so soon, it got me completely off guard! I'll try to spend tomorrow trying not to panic, but the only way I know how to deal with this is incense and nature sounds?
  25. Life

Wait, so even if you're saying, or thinking, in a doubtful tone (self-doubtful in this case), you still can't end the sentence in a question mark? I am technically questioning myself. Maybe it's just my brain, or Spanish grammar, but I hear a question mark in my brain in these situations.
