Yeah, I don't mind exploiting the game for the coal, but don't exploit the people who made or are selling it! Wow, the tutorial for Shogun 2 is so long it's probably it's own campaign! But I've liked what I've seen of the game so far, I'll take a chance with it! I've played enough Samurai Warrior games to be familiar with Sengoku era generals that the name of the general of the tutorial is known to me.... in Sengoku Basara he's a pirate!

Yeah, I'm about the reach 7 coal again and I don't know if I should bother to use them in for a gift pile prize or for the big contest, the chances of getting anything good in both are so small! Didn't someone mention that the catalog deals don't affect new games? That certainly sucks. When does the sale actually end? The 31st or Jan 2nd? Because if it's Jan 2nd, that's when the coupons activate and if you combine them, you could get some games practically free? EDIT: I finally have enough coal for another chance a the Great Gift Pile, should I bother? My chances or getting anything good are about as high as of me winning the first prize. PS: Who won last time? I always find it suspicious when there is a contest and nobody knows who won. PSS: Seeing that people are willing to cheat the system and used the Humble Bundle to get a mad amount of coal, does anybody stand a chance?

It's harder and things change place, if memory serves me well. I think some items only appear on this mode though.

I wouldn't trade the coal, I keep getting terrible games which nobody wants. You can get anything in a trade, a game or a discount, from what I've seen in the Steam trading forums, there are more cheap or bad games to be won than not.

Sorry, I meant 50% off Valve games, which I already own, I wish I had 50% off any game.

It's good to see WayForward can still make a good franchise game, I keep telling myself the Bloodrayne flop was because they were hired and it wasn't a labor of love like most of their games. Speaking of WayForward, I made a post about their new eShop game, Mighty Switch Force! which is pretty awesome!

Steam just gave me 50% off L4D, when it had already gave me 50% all Steam games.

I guess that means I don't have to try it out then? I just did my fill of Xmas "Cheevs" and got a basketball manager game... Now I have TWO games I just can't rid of! A friend of mine who barely uses Steam went there because I told her a game she wanted was on sale, and she got L4D! Can you win Bad Rats or Eternity Child? Because I'm sure one of those will be the next game I'll get.

It's a day off in other countries? Lucky bastards! I just got Sonic Generations in the mail and Steam sells it for a few Euros less.

I've gotten enough to redeem it twice and I've regretted redeeming both times. EDIT: The new deals are up. Is Bulletstorm worth it at it's current price? The original FarCry for 3€? How about Red Faction Armageddon? It looks there are some new relatively easy Steam achievements for games I already own, I'll give those a go.

I recently discovered that place... I soon felt creeped out and was happy my missions said I could leave. It's strange how the game never scares me, but the ambiance of some areas just make me feel so uncomfortable and creeped out.

Maybe we should open a Steam trading thread? EDIT: There is a trading forum at Steam, but it moves too fast, it's almost easier to search for the games you want to trade and see what the have to offer. I managed to trade Nuclear Dawn for Limbol, which I own on XBLA, but it was the only offer I didn't have on Steam already... Avadon is hard to get rid of.

Oh, I didn't notice the discount starts the day the sale is over, but maybe it overlaps? I doubt it though. I've gotten all the gifts I can, the only ones left are too challenging, from free MMOs and multiplayer ones. Does anybody want to do the Swords & Soldiers HD one with me?
