  1. PS Vita

From what I've heard the PSVita doesn't do PSOne games, but it should be fixed in an update?

It surprises you to see Guybrush in a Lucasarts game? It's not much of a secret he just points at the place where the costume is hidden. Here's a link since the image is huge!
  3. PS Vita

Come to think of it, the reason I loved and still love my PSP is because I bought it later and had a backlog of games to get into... That and it had a metric ton of retro collections, I'd say the retro collection is dead with the release of digital distribution, but Japan did release SNK Classsics Volume 0 this year, but it was in Japan only, in the rest of the world you had to buy the games individually, but at least we seem to be getting them? Anyway, I think I'll wait and see, it's not like I could afford one anyway!

That post deserved a 9999.99! BIAS! BIAS! You obviously hate Thompson for not giving him an aubergine out of camel! I beat the Force Unleashed II, which was fun and short, it's strange it didn't get repetitive despite you're fighting the same enemies and sometimes you practically visit the same levels too! Oh, it also had a Monkey Island cameo, that doubles as a secret to unlock the Guybrush Threepwood costume! You fight like a Bantha farmer!
  5. V The Elder Scrolls

The final part of the Thieves' Guild quest can get boring, the "bring the guild back to glory part", you have to do a bunch or random quests until you unlock a special quest in each major town. Fortunately, they quests can be very short, one of them had me pickpocket someone who was standing right of the entrance of the Guild! I haven't played much, when I get my backlog under control I'll probably get back to get to the game.

I beat Xotic, it was a very weird indie FPS. It's about an evil orb who went insane because it wants a body and is taking over people and destroying their worlds. I think the game needed more testing because the weapons that actually use ammo lose it too quickly for them to be useful and the hard hologram breaks the game a little, it's a shield and you jump on it, but you can also generate it as many times as you want, there is only a limit to how many you can have in game. The game play was interesting, you're supposed to kill all enemies in a level, but there are trails of mini orbs to destroy, floating brains and floating crystals to deal with to increase your score. I didn't try that hard and was in the top 250 players, I guess that how many people actually played the game after the level the was an Xmas cheevo? It's kinda short, the game shows several worlds in the menu, but the story ends in the middle of those levels and you find out that the other levels don't even exist yet.
  7. PS Vita

What kind of games are the kind you DON'T want to play on a big screen TV? JRPGs seems to be the most portable friendly games, apart from that, I can't think of that many games that are suited for portable systems... retro collections, maybe?
  8. PS Vita

It's probably not a good idea to buy one anyway, that is, until the competition releases a cheaper memory card.
  9. PS Vita

As far as I know it is region free, but what sucks I've heard it's even worse at changing accounts than the PSP. Hopefully the old "let the PS3 change accounts for you" will still work for the Vita?

I won a metric ton of useless coupons!
  11. Happy Birthday!

    Thanks for Bday wishes! :3

So, it's like Shenmue? I beat The Undergarden, I can't remember the last time I was so bored by a game, it's supposed to be a "zen" physics puzzle, but it's not relaxing, it's boring! All you do is drag a seed to it's very obvious target until you reach the next seed, sure there are different kinds of seeds, but the lack of variety and engagement is staggering. (It's also very, very, very, I can't believe it was that short and that boring) Oh, I also beat Axel & Pixel, a Samorost styled game.. with QTEs and minigames?
  13. Backlog Busters

Well, both of those are on the US PSN store in PSOne Classics section, and you can get your hand on US PSN card pretty easily if you live outside of the US!
  14. General Video Game Deals Thread

Here? It depends on where you live I guess, I know there are sites that sell codes online for each area, but I don't think a UK card would work on an US console and vice versa.
  15. Backlog Busters

The thing about some of old adventure games taking months to beat is true, but that's back when people thought moon logic was acceptable and letting make the game un-winnable was O.K. too. Frankly, many of the older games are a bit rubbish in that way, the objective wasn't clear and the rules of the games weren't clear. And we accepted them because we didn't know better, you don't realize how broken those games are until you play one that isn't broken. I also like to experience the game as much as I can, and love to analyze what I love and what I hate and some grindfests are just a waste of my time, some games will make you grind in the same area for 20-30 hours fighting the same monsters again and again with no plot development, no upgrades, no nothing... PS: According to your backlog, you have only played pretty decent JRPGs.... Lucky bastard!
  16. Backlog Busters

Sheesh! And I though I had backlog problems! With a backlog that big, I wouldn't "rush it", but I would cheat like crazy in any game I could! Or at least, if it's a whole series beat the first game or first few games normally and cheat on the rest of the series because you already proved you can handle these games. At least, get yourself some sort of a cheat device for the JRPGs, using an experience cheat won't rob you of the fun... unless you like grinding that it? Or at least blind grind! Remember, it's never wrong to use "anti-grind" cheats!
  17. Backlog Busters

You don't even want to look at mine after the Holiday sales... Cthulhu saves the World is a very short game, you can beat it in an afternoon and Universe Sandbox is more toy than game, there is no "win" scenario, you just mess around with the Universe.

Same here, I'm waiting for AssRev to go down in price. It feels like they are releasing a million AssCred games a year, I'm waiting to see if this trend continues, I cared about the story, but it seems they are milking the series and the story will end up being a mess, like Lost?
  19. General Video Game Deals Thread

Dammit, why didn't they say there was a limit of games to be won? It's a good thing I gave up on the prizes and I'm keeping the coal too!

My first game beaten of 2012! Hector Episode 1: We Negotiate With Terrorists! Of course, since it's an adventure game it has the "Obligatory Monkey Island Reference TM", but one of them was pretty subtle, so I can forgive them. Bloody hilarious!

I now have two 50% and one 33% coupon for Valve games... Too bad they don't stack or I could get a free Valve game. PS: For some strange reason I haven't received a forum notification in hours. Is this happening to anybody else? How do I fix it?
  22. General Video Game Deals Thread

This is the final day right? Tomorrow will be the best of, but that's about it? There are a few indie games in my wishlist that I think I'll buy everything else will have to wait for the next sale, but I want to make sure they won't go on sale on the final day.
  23. General Video Game Deals Thread

Those are for the later days, the ones left are the ones that appeared today I think? I think I'm done with Steam achievements for now, there are only a few a might give a go? L.A. Noire is 12.49... At that price I might give it a go. And has anybody played Rochard? All I know is that it's a 2D gravity gun game. PS: Don't forget to check Gamersgate, GOG and The Adventure Shop for their special deals! The Adventure Shop has Grey Matter at half price and GOG has a lot of nice ol' games cheap!
  24. Gray Matter

I'm resurrecting this thread to say the game is 50% at the Adventure Shop until New Year.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean "tar everyone with the same brush", I was only talking about people exploiting a charity fund to enter the Steam raffle, although paying 1 cent for anything through Paypal is kinda douchy in any circumstance. Damn, now Command & Conquer is for sale, it was always in my list of games to try out. Is this one novice friendly too? Man, my backlog is going to enter critical mass at this rate!
