  1. Broken Sword 5: Legacy of The Something

Whenever someone says they want TTG to up their games, my brain translates it to: "Screw logical puzzles! I want moon logic! Bring back the honey car stache puzzle!".
  2. Broken Sword 5: Legacy of The Something

They haven't confirmed it's Broken Sword yet, right? It could be "In Cold Blood 2"?
  3. Broken Sword 5: Legacy of The Something

I didn't even know there was a Broken Sword 4 until I read about it in my book about adventure games... As long as there are no more Sokobon puzzles I'm game! Is this site new? I remember somebody talking about it on Twitter, is this made by a Thumber or a Thumb friendly?

The PSP version which is technically the same as the iOS version. Are you doing the extra stuff? I just went through one extra dungeon once and thought it was a waste of time, also I didn't stop to grind at all in FF I and grinded only a bit in FF II. It could be the internal clocks are off, but I did start FF II on Friday and ended it Sunday at midnight.
  5. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

I funded the very hard to find item that was just a red herring.

I'd say 13-16 hours each and skipped the extra dungeons in both games. I didn't use guides, but I did use maps, which you really need for FFII with all it's hidden passages, I also took advantage of having Minwu, the white mage in my party to fight enemies to strong for me to get some good gears and levels early on. But you're right about the levelling sytems, why on earth do you level spells like Warp and Teleport? It's interesting that instead of getting better spells you just level them up, but once you get a new character or spell, everything is at level 1 and mostly useless. You can cast "Life" on the whole party, which is kinda cheap, so I guess it evens out? I'm guess the original NES version was much more severe.

I somehow beat Final Fantasy I & II last week, apparently Square didn't always make their games to be 200+ hours long? FFII has the strangest levelling system ever, but despite it, I managed to enjoy the game a lot!
  8. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

Tim is making a 2D adventure game? Oh, my! I think I'm getting a case of the vapors!
  9. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

Yeah, mine is a debit card too and it worked fine.

I beat Tornado Outbreak, I saw it the other day in a game store for 5€ and took a chance, because.... TORNADOES! It's a Katamari Cy-clone! You absorb smaller things until you become bigger and you're supposed to pick up 50 fire sprites to be able to end the level, with a final level with a very mini game-y boss (which is the same for every level). Oh, and sunlight hurts you... You are made of wind and SUNLIGHT hurts you!
  11. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

What I love the most about this is that we are paying just for a game from Tim, all we know is that it's adventure game. Is it Grim Fandago: The After Afterlife? Pyschonauts 2? A dating sim with all our favorite adventure game designers in sailor fukus? WE DON'T CARE! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! I wonder who bought the dinner with Tim, I hope it was Notch, that would be awesome! I am excited and confused!

Wouldn't this count as a pre-order at least?
  13. Psychonauts on Steam

I don't think my brain can handle the possibility of a new Pyschonauts and a new Tim Schafer adventure game... Hmm, maybe he'll give Pyschonauts 2 a shot if this one goes well? I'm going to go sell a kidney or two so I can afford a bigger donation.
  14. Psychonauts on Steam

Wait.... is this real? This can't be real... can it really be happening so quickly?
  15. Psychonauts on Steam

Would we really want some AAA company's hand on such a project? Remember what happened to Brütal Legend when the publisher tried to convince everybody it was an action game and not an RTS? Speculation is fun! I'm going to bet they'll have DLC skins for every store! Buy it at GameStomp for a Grim Fandango skin, at BurstBuy for a Purple Tentacle one!
  16. Psychonauts on Steam

I was wondering why this thread was resurrected... I'm not keeping too much track on what they are saying to each other, but "Notch" suggested an episodic game in the last tweet I saw. Just how rich is Notch? Are there still people out there who would want Minecraft, but haven't heard of it? Do people love him so much they buy several copies or donate? Frankly, I don't know how excited I should be, since it's still something that may or may not happen. Or at least, that what I'm going to keep telling myself until it's confirmed. Hmm... I wouldn't mind to finally see the Shenmue trilogy completed, didn't the author say that all he needed was funding too?

  18. Backlog Busters

Erkki, Universal Sandbox is more of a toy than a game, it's mostly crashing planets into the sun for your amusement. I've had a lot of "luck" with my backlog problems, a few of the new games I bought were from a genre I was new to and... I discovered that I don't like them! I discovered I don't like tower defense games, and while I think I might enjoy strategy games, I don't think I can enjoy RTS games. I played both C&C 3 and Red Alert 3 and had to quit when I reached more or less the same scenario. No matter how much I spent on keeping my base defended, the moment I left the base, it took a lot of damage before I could do anything. After reloading and trying a few thing I could only think of slowly combing the area with troops, which sounded boring, so I quit. And my wizard snobbery has taken down a few of the RPGs. (Sacred 2 seems pretty bad, I don't think I needed my wizard snobbery to quit that game) But to counter it the European PSN has Final Fantasy sale and I decided to buy a few to give them a second chance... My real big mistake was letting all the JRPGs and WRPGs pile up, while I don't believe in game burnout, I do believe their length is going to make more critical and likely to quit. But I actually feel confident now, not many of the upcoming games seem to interest me and my list of older games I want isn't that big anymore!
  19. Oddworld Stranger's Wrath

Wow, I am glad I played the HD version, that glitch sounds terrible!
  20. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Wow, people haven't grown tired of these "sh*t people say" videos? Although I must admit this one was actually funny! I don't know if this is animal cruelty or hilarious, but here's some pet owners doing the Circle of Time pose with their pets: (Bonus points for the one who actually found an appropriate rock) ogqXU_mmOyE

  22. Oddworld Stranger's Wrath

I recently beat that game and I agree that the "change" is a bit jarring. I too played it in a more or less strategic way up until the "change", but then it's full on action, the game just keeps giving you upgraded versions of your more "aggressive" ammo and stealth is not an option. You might be able to kill a few with the sniper mosquito silently, but that's about it. Also, it was liberating to play a Oddworld game where you didn't have to rescue 100 Mudokons to get the good ending.

I'm finally done with the Splinter Cell series! OK, I skipped the PSP one because it controls terribly and it's just a remix of older missions, but I've beaten all the other ones! I also beat the only Serious Sam indie games I didn't have yet, Kamikaze Attack is more or less Cananbalt, except you can attack with a kick, but if you attack too much you explode! Serious Sam: The Greek Encounter is Kleer-ly a load of Werebull, I could tell from the moment the Game Maker loading screen started. I could go on talking about all it's fault for longer that it would take you to beat the game, but I'll just tell you stay away from it. Oh yeah, I also beat a few of the AGS Bake Bundle games, there are a few interesting games in it, but they mostly suck or are boring.
  24. General Video Game Deals Thread

Another regional PSN deal: The Pixel Junk games for 100 Yen each at the Japanese PSN store! I downloaded the Japanese demo and it looks the game I got was in English, so it's safe to assume the games are mutliregional and it switches to which ever language you have selected? I still have 100 Yen left and there is DLC for Eden and PJ Monsters or PJ Racers. Considering I suck at racing games, which should I pick?

It get less tense the more weapons you get, IMHO.
