Amanita Design and GOG: This could get ugly.
Tanukitsune replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
OK, I just got an email from the Humble Bundle saying they are offering the exclusive content that GOG did to apologize for the "mix up"... This seems to be a VERY dickish move, since when does the Humble Bundle offer art books, maps or similar content? That's always been GOG's thing! -
I just thought of something, if the game tracks what happened in each episode, does this mean that the people who used the Steam key will have to play Episode 1 again in the Telltale version? Anyway, I haven't watched the show or read the comics, I loved the game, I loved how it seemed like every choice mattered and would effect the rest of the game. But I'm sure people will whine that the game barely had any puzzles at all and it's length.

Apparently it's already out on Steam.

I can't help to notice that in the Steam forums, a lot of posts are made by users with more "lupine" names.

How hilarious and/or awesome is it that a burlesque performer does the voice of Rosangela Blackwell and how hilarious/disastrous do you think Rosnagela would do is she had to do the voice actress' job? How was it making a game for Playfirst? Would you make one with them or their engine again? I know AGS works better with pixel art, but would you ever think of switching to hand drawn animation? Or would you want to do something more experimental like the paper craft in Lume? -
Woohoo! Congrats! I'm pretty sure he's the wizardry consultant.

When I got I expected Sokoban with a Werewolf, but while there are a few Sokobanesque rooms, these puzzles are MUCH, MUCH more fun. Sure it's about pushing blocks, but they added some extra elements to make things more interesting, instead of moving a hundred boxes, you only have to get one (Maybe two) to a certain place, but all you have to do is use your common sense and remember what you can do in each form. It's amazing how they've added so many elements to a box puzzle game and how great they work!

He he, that trailer was rather awesome! I can't wait to play this!

This might be a silly question, but since this is fully funded, can I expect to see the game later for sale for those who didn't back it? With my limited funds I'd rather give the money to a project that hasn't reached it's goal yet.

Wow, just how short is it? -

Wow, I didn't expect everything to be solved when I woke up! I don't remember seeing Botanicula on GamersGate though, and this is the most "expensive" Humble Bundle yet, since you have to pay almost as much as the normal game on GOG to get the full deal and it comes with games that have been in other bundles, how many people are fans of Amanita and don't own the rest of their games yet? GOG is still releasing old games, they just released Theme Hospital and Ultima 8, but the premium edition thing does seems stupid even with the added content, which is the same added content you get with all GOG games. If the game has an artwork or a soundtrack they always add it for free, so why pay a premium on these games? But I'm glad it seems to be over, GOG acted like a champ and Amanita did the best they could by giving GOG some exclusive content for those who made pre-orders. -
What the?! I just pre-ordered it GOG! They said it would only be available at GOG! I feel scammed! EDIT: This is a backstab! They had an exclusive deal with GOG!

OK, now I'm halfway through the game and I'm halfway through WITH the game... Toblix mention how the combat is, but it's not really combat at all, you just select with thugs you take out first and how and that's it. If you guessed right, you survive, if you didn't you die. The worst is that you can't run away, I first found a few enemies next to checkpoint, and the checkpoint didn't even activate until everybody died! I tried to run away from the next enemy encounter, but the game didn't let me! It's almost too easy, but equally easy to mess up due to the controls! If they approach you take the first one out with a quick attack, then kill the big guy if there is one so the smaller ones get scared, or threaten them into a fire or hole. Also, the hero can't simply attack with the machete, but the enemies can? I just don't feel no tension... The game keeps playing this annoying music the moment my stamina is less that 100% and I've already mentioned how "tense" the combat is... I also hate how

Sherlock Holmes and the Aventure of the Kickstarter
Tanukitsune replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Video Gaming
This doesn't surprise me, we've reached the point where there are just too many interesting projects and we can't afford to fund all the ones we want. -
Damn, I got carried away by one, sorry.
-
I've started to play it now and it's totally breaking the immersion with "you shouldn't go there yet". It's strange to play a game with limited continues, I guess everything is scarce in this game.
-
I'm waiting till I can actually afford it. What really kills me is that LSL, the remake of a remake of remake OF A REMAKE is getting funded, but the original story isn't!

I'm literally going to have to sell a kidney to fund all these Kickstarters... I think I have the DVD of the FMV game, but it only had four cases on it I think. -

I was only joking when I said these would be the next to join the bandwagon... This is getting beyond absurd, at this rate I'm expecting Magnetic Scrolls and Infocom to make a come back... Get ready for a Spelcasting 401 Kickstarter! -

What? Then how come the map I was shown was the same as mine? -

I don't think anything is randomized in this game, everything was were they told me it would be. -
