  1. WayForward's latest came out yesterday for the eShop and it's pretty darn good! It takes the concept from Mighty Flip Champs in a way, in MFC you had a button that switched "dimensions" and made blocks appears and disappear and had several layers of "dimensions" while MSF only has the block switching with one layer, which is much less confusing. You play Patricia Wagon (Patty Wagon?) who must chase and capture the Hooligan Girls who have escaped the "patty wagon" and used a strange chemical to fill the area with monsters to cover their escape. Patty can shoot, jump and switch blocks and to spice things up the game has different kinds of blocks you can switch. You have the "cannon" blocks which you shoot in a certain direction whatever is front of it before it's "switched", it can be you OR an enemy! "Lock" blocks, these blocks will stay locked and do not switch if you are standing on them. It's pretty puzzle-y with a good dose of action too, and since you have limited hit points (sometimes enemies drop more) the game doesn't hold your hand, three hit and you have to do the whole stage again. While the game only has 16 stages, they are varied and get more complex and challenging, challenging enough so you won't be all the levels on your first try, but fair enough to not be frustrating. The pixel art of WayForward is always great and this game actually has some 3D in it despite it being in 2D, I heartily recommend this game for those who want a nice puzzle platform game!
  2. General Video Game Deals Thread

It's strange that this sale is all about celebrating online stores that give you control over pricing, yet one of the sections is games that are only sold by the people who made them. (Many of these games still feel overpriced at 50% off.)
  3. Binary Domain

This game is on my radar since I heard the people who made the Yakuza games worked on it, I'm just waiting for it t go on sale. I know that your team mates will talks and like you less depending on how you react. I saw a clip of someone playing with an all female group and he told them that he just wanted "purdy ladies", one was disgusted, the other liked his honesty. I think this just affects if they'l obey your commands later?
  4. General Video Game Deals Thread

Bundle in a Box is your typical charity bundle, but this time of epic indie adventure games! Because We May seems to be all about freedom of pricing, the Steam games don't seem to have updated yet, but this just started this morning, I think? I find it hilarious that one of them actually raised the price of his game to 99$. There are so many games on sale here it's daunting!
  5. New Forums! Post feedback, notes, etc here

What's the deal with the dots under some usernames? Also, I'm confused and scared!
  6. Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road CSG Kickstarter

And it's successful! I funded right before the end, but this is going to be the last ones I fund for a while, like JonCole said, I'm out of cash to buy anything new. I think the Space Quest one will be the last one I'll fund in a while... And I'm not sure either, I didn't fund LSL and I liked that series more than Space Quest. The "younger me" is loving how the "Lucasarts" fundraiser has been more successful than all the "Sierra" ones combined.
  7. Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road CSG Kickstarter

Really? That's good to know! I don't know if I've said this on this thread before, but I'm sure I'm not the first to whine about the fact that you have to give them 100$ for a physical copy of the game. I may have already said that I already know that this is a funding project, but still... I'm now debating on whether to fund the minimum or just enough to get both.
  8. Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road CSG Kickstarter

I wonder how much higher? I hope they don't charge more than 30$ for the game. I looks like I can afford the minimum pledge that gets me one game, I'm not actually sure they'll manage to create two games in one cycle. I don't like hearing that Jane Jensen's game will be on Origin because of their new "crowd funded games deal", I hope they don't make it an exclusive or something, I really don't want Origin on my PC.
  9. Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road CSG Kickstarter

Great, I just realized that now that I have to pay for my PC repairs, I can't afford this Kickstarter, and this is the one I really wanted to fund. Oh well, it's not like they'll make the games available only to funders, right?
  10. The other I was playing Arkam City on my PC and getting close to the end when my PC died. Since it should be under warranty, I could get just get it fixed, but it could take weeks! Right now I'm on a very old laptop, it's a clunker and chugs if you have more than one tab open, the idea of having this as a substitute seemed like a nightmare! But then I remembered the old adventure gamer stereotype... Adventure games can run on almost anything! And I have an INDECENT number of old adventure games! GUYS! I've only played Grim Fandango ONCE! OH GOD! TOONSTRUCK! The Last Express! Neverhood! *incoherently babbles and mumbles for 50 minutes straight* What's the point of this post anyway? I dunno, I'm off to make some honey cat staches!
  11. I think I played a bit of Diablo when my PC died the last time. Just how often do you give yourself time to replay a classic? I sometimes replay DoTT or MK 1, but I think from now on I should replay more classics, even if it's a random one.
  12. Well, I just found out that the PC is not actually in warranty and that the power supply actually works... Damn!
  13. Woah, who even has the space to keep a spare CRT? I have an older flat monitor though. I'm not even sure this laptop could run Half-Life!
  14. Legend of Grimrock - Tile based Dungeon Crawler!

That tactic won't work if the enemy has hands and is smart enough to open a door.
  15. It looks like it could be about paranormal activity? I know the two-headed baby is their mascot, but that and the buried UFO is the kind of stuff you can read in Weekly World News. I'm excited!
  16. Two Guys from Andromeda (Space Quest) Reunion

What are you talking about? We are adventure gamers! Don't we all have Windows 3.1 and CRT monitors for our IBM PCjrs? Next you'll tell me that using honey and cat fur to make a stache is illogical! Speaking of which, are they "in touch" enough to know that their "moon logic" puzzles aren't acceptable nowadays? And "Dead man walking" is dead wrong!
  17. General Video Game Deals Thread

You can get The King Arthut Collection at 75% at Green Man Gamming. You can register it at Steam. East India Company Collection is 66% off at Gamersgate! I'm thinking of buying both? King Arthur seems to be Total War with magic and East India seems to be half Total War, half Civ? I've bought from Green Man Gaming before, but I don't know much, the games you don't register at Steem seem to have a trade in value, which is nice?
  18. Two Guys from Andromeda (Space Quest) Reunion

Yeah, that's the problem with most Kickstarters I follow, the amount I'm willing to pay doesn't give me what I want, I have to pay 100$ to get it. I know this is a funding project, but that's how I see it and how I have to justify the money spent.
  19. Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road CSG Kickstarter

For a moment I thought you were kidding me with the video right until the end... Yep, it's definitely parodying this. I don't know if it's awesome, hilarious or both?
  20. Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road CSG Kickstarter

Which video? I haven't seen any video from them lately since the Kickstarter.
  21. Two Guys from Andromeda (Space Quest) Reunion

And here's me think that maybe they wouldn't do one... at least they had the sense to wait till we had a little more money. And it looks I was right about Rob Paulsen, but why didn't they mention he did voices for Toonstruck? That would help the cause a little, right? PS: He was also the voice of Bubsy the Bobcat... What could possibly go wrong?
  22. Two Guys from Andromeda (Space Quest) Reunion

Well, I just heard on Rob Paulsen's podcast that they are trying to get him to do voices in the new Space Quest game. He hasn't said yes, this was the tech guy talking, but even if you don't know who this guy his, he's voiced a funny adventure game or two, so at least they are aiming high!
  23. Recently completed video games

I got two of game of the EA "indie" bundle and gave them a go: Gatling Gears is a twin stick shooter which takes place in the Greed Corp universe (which I haven't played), where the land floats in the air and can crumble and fall. It's pretty bullet hell-ish, but it also seems a bit strategic since you Gatling gun has a very short range and your other weapons have a recharge time and it's vital to take out the big guns before you get overwhelmed. Warp is about an alien what can well... warp! You can warp into things and make them explode and as you advance, you can switch with items and even toss them, it's not that challenging if you're used to physics puzzle games and you just kill the guard, but it's fun to try to be a pacifist, too bad I didn't try until the end.
  24. GOG is trying to be the place for indie games. First they release Legend of Grimrock, which was on Steam and not exclusive, but hey! They got an exclusive deal with Amanita Design for Botanicula.... Except they decided to release it in the latest Humble Bundle!? GOG had no idea about this, and totally got screwed over, they got a partial soundtrack while the Humble Bundle has the full thing, not to mention more games! GOG is scrambling to do something and everybody at the site is furious, while GOG is apparently trying to make amends for what Amanita Design did to them. And it's also on GamersGate and technically on Steam... What they hell is happening here? Did the the indies screw over GOG or was GOG lying about the exclusivity deal? EDIT: It looks like GOG donated 300$ to Humblebundle and has promised Mahcinarium for free to anybody who pre-ordered the game and an "exclusive" Botanicula art book (which will probably be added to the Humble Bundle). Frankly, I think Amanita seems to be the "bad guy" here, while there is nothing wrong to have this game in a Humble Bundle and even having it on the day of it's release is O.K., but having a deal with GOG and doing this?
  25. General Video Game Deals Thread

Tranformers: War on Cybertron is 75% off and the Batman games are 50% off at Steam. I wonder if it's worth waiting for the GOTY edition of Arkham City or not, at this price it's probably just cheaper to buy the upcoming Harley Quinn DLC when it comes out? Also, a new Indie Royale bundle! Although it doesn't seem that interesting this time.
