Two Guys from Andromeda (Space Quest) Reunion
Tanukitsune replied to lobotomy42's topic in Video Gaming
I don't know why I haven't noticed it before, but the art does look weird, but the weirdest thing is... the characters they introduced. Chuck Yegger is just Astro Chicken and Ace Hardway seems to be the new Roger Wilco. Which seems VERY odd, don't they have the rights to make another Space Quest? If not, are they just making a Space Quest game that's a "spiritual successor" a.k.a. "please don't sue us"? -

I suppose we should be able to purchase the game anyway when it's done, right? -

They are probably going to need 500.000$ just to pay all the talent they want to include in the game. -

This is going to be a close call. The thing is... while the fans can afford the back this game, it looks like people have grown tired or simply can't afford the bigger tier prizes. They are going to need 1.600+ backers of the lowest tier to make it, that's a LOT of backers to get in 24 hours. Can they go with the project anyway if they think they reached a decent goal anyway? -
Warlock: Master of Magic is 50% off at Steam! WIZARDS! Would it be a bit of a faux-pas to buy the Humble Bundle, download the music and give the bundle link to someone else?

I finished Space Marine, which I got free from the PSN +, I loved how balanced the melee and shooting is, or at least, I liked how the game let me play as a melee fighter nearly all of the game, except for a few enemies that I couldn't reach. I'm kinda sad I liked the game, since I'm not any good at non-Civ (squad based?) strategy games, because now I kinda want to see more from this world. Warhammer created the original Space Marine which spawned all the others, right? They why did I like this one, but not the others? Was it just the melee? I also beast Vessel another indie physics based platform puzzle game, which I thought I'd hate because the genre was started to get generic, but the fact that you can bring the liquids to life and give them different behaviors makes the game feel unique, at least for now?

Well, I'm glad it was funded since I wasn't so sure about this one. Now I can just see if I'll like it after they release a demo or in-game footage.
-
So that's why I wasn't getting replies from some threads? I never set them to "No Notifications" before, but it's good to know how to fix it.

Too bad you missed the Bundle in a Box, it had Gemini Rue in it. (I think I have an extra Steam and/or Desura code from this?)

I had the same problem as Moos, I just cold never get over the controls. I loved the longplays I saw and YouTube and wished I could get over them, but I couldn't. I even listened to the radio play Synth mentioned, which made me want to get over the controls even more. I assume if they make it, the UI will be similar, but easier to control?

Dark Scavenger is pretty strange. You're a nameless person who ends up with a group called the "Dark Scavengers" who are experts at well, scavenging and then crafting what they need. Kamaho is a skeleton creature that can craft weapons, Gazer is a mouth-less monster biologist who can somehow craft allies from the items you find and then there is Falsen... who looks like a TV show host from the 70's and make items... very strange items. This game is all about risk and reward, unless you make or find a guide, you never know what you'll get, which is where the fun is at! The weirdest allies I got where: My Mom: if I'm hurt badly, she makes the enemies feel so bad they get stunned. The Sun: Yep, somehow, I'm friends with The Sun now and it burns everybody on screen, even me! Continuing on the risk and reward thing, you never know what you might get in the game, maybe helping a person will get you item, or get you stabbed, or maybe a very special key item that will get you even better items. Items, weapons and allies have a use limit, they get restocked at the end of the chapter, but you never know what you might need. You might need a strong ally to push something or an item that gives light to see in a dark area. It's very possible that you'll reach a situation where you don't have the right item, but the worst that can happen is that you miss getting another item. To make things even more interesting, many items, weapons and allies only work in certain conditions. A certain ally may only attack unarmed enemies or when it's outside, some items only work on animals, some weapons only work on stunned enemies and so on and so on.. And in case you have noticed by the allies I described before, the game is a complete lunacy, specially with what you craft. I have an item that only effects enemies with several nouns in their description. I could go on forever, but it's best you see for yourself. (I hope you like puns!) It even has a "New Game+" so you can start with everything you got and try to get different items. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to craft this thread into a puffin wizard gun!

Some heartless jackass makes a fake Majora's Mask HD trailer because he hates me, specifically
Tanukitsune replied to Udvarnoky's topic in Video Gaming
I'm pretty sure we'll eventually get a remake of this game, hopefully it will look half as good as this fake trailer. -
Unfortunately the collector edition is sold out, for once the name "collector's edition" is for real.

Wow, I just got the physical stuff in the mail.... It's pretty awesome! I got a map, some special paper to make maps (I don't know the appropriate name), a letter (SEEEECREEETS!) and a disquette. The disquette seems to be most interesting part since it seems to have clues for a certain something in the game.

Since it can be beaten in one sitting, I think taking the ability to save was on purpose. You could contact the guy who made the game, he seems to be constantly tweaking it. While he might not address the other things, he'll at least try to fix the Alt-Tab crash. I just tried to Alt-Tab and it didn't crash on me.

Why do you always insist in playing horror games in a window? How on Earth do you expect to get immersed into game when it's windowed? Immersion maybe not that important in other games, but when the game is trying to be creepy you have to at least try to play along, it needs some immersion to be effective!

Well, I tried it on my parent's laptop which has XP and a CPU of about 800 Mhz and... It took ages to load, but it worked! I did notice it to run a little slower, but everything else seemed fine. You could email the site and ask if you want to be sure.
-
Are you sure? I checked and the grammar sites says it's "A" when it sounds like a consonant and "an" when it sounds like a vowel, "unique" starts with a "y" sound.

I ordered the physical version, I think their games are the only ones I have on disk lately... Fov! I remember you from Adventure Gamers! Hi! :3
-
I don't think they've run out of "indie" games, I think all the bundles that the "competition" is doing may have taken some of their options away. I don't have my finger on the pulse of indie gaming that much, but there are a few games they could have added that could do with the exposure (*cough* *cough* Lone Survivor *cough*). It feels so strange that this is only the fifth bundle, it feels like we get a new one every month to me. (Maybe the just number some of them?)
-
With all these indie bundle I had a lot to play, Cardinal Quest is one of the few I liked enough to bother finishing. It's was great fun to find spells and use them to survive. It's pretty strategic with the wizard since the fireball takes a few turns to recharge you have to either slow them down, make them sleep, charm them... you know, the usual D&D spells. I never understood what money is for though, maybe you get an extra life at 100 coins? The most frustrating part is fighting the elementals, since they can summon a minor copy, throw fireballs and teleport. I once had one teleport behind me leaving me with nowhere to escape. I barely made it out of there!
-
Wow, I can't believe I'm going to skip this one, but I have all the games, and some of the soundtracks too.
-
Strange, I got a notification from this topic, but not from the ones in the gaming forum.
-
It looks like notifications have stopped working for me, I went to the settings in my profile and changed a few settings, but I still don't any notifications in my inbox.

I replayed Pyschonauts, it seems they fixed the Meat Circus by giving you unlimited lives. I never thought it was that bad. Either they changed the game to make it easier, or this game is easier than I remember, even the figment collecting wasn't as bad as I remembered! It's great to replay classics, you keep noticing things you didn't before, like that Tara Strong played Sheegor!
