  1. The Walking Dead

I just replayed the first episode to change a few things and the game still made me cringe a bit (in a good way) even though I knew what was going to happen. PSS: Didn't we have a spoiler button a moment ago?
  2. General Video Game Deals Thread

Speaking of strategy, the Civ V Gods & Kings expansion is 35% off at Green Man Gaming!
  3. General Video Game Deals Thread

I'm not very good at RTS games, but after playing Space Marine.... I must resist too!
  4. General Video Game Deals Thread

Is it really on sale? I don't see any discount. But it's still a steal at that price!
  5. hxi4rdnOUbQ Destructoid seems to have a lot of screenshots if you care to browse at them. Wow... Now this is unexpected, why did they team up with Koei and made a crossover with Nobunaga's Ambition? I'm not sure if any of the Nobunaga's Ambition games ever even made it out of Japan, although all the character design's are from the Samurai Warriors series (Toyotomi has the fire monkey, he he he!), but.... what is this? I don't even? Then again, maybe this isn't that surprising? KOEI has made a Warriors game with pretty famous anime series, so why not with Pokémon? Nintendo has already crossed with SEGA in the Winter Olympics, so why not with KOEI in a strategy game? I'm pretty sure that either you start with Yukimuri Sanada or some random nobody though and the strategy will be VERY dumbed down and will skip the micromanaging and only have battles, although I'm just speculating.
  6. Resonance

    Super near the end spoiler:
  7. Resonance

Well, I think Gemini Rue was mostly published by WadjetEye, while in this game they were more involved? I think they mostly helped with the voice casting in Gemini? Toblix, that's the puzzle I somehow didn't have to do, but I'm pretty sure there there is walkthough already, I know because I had to use on a certain kind of puzzle I hate to do.
  8. Resonance

Are you talking about the one in the lab?
  9. Resonance

As far as I know you have to play all three, it's the intro that introduces you to all the characters. Since the game has a point system you can "miss" stuff, but it's more likely because you used a different solution from what the game thinks is ideal. I don't remember if there was anything wrong with Gemini Rue, apart from the shooting sections, but yes, it's WadjetEye's finest game yet. You might get a bit confused or even annoyed by the new memory system. Long term memories are ones that you'll keep during the whole game, and are usually quest related. Short term memories are not shared by everyone and will fade after a "section", but are usually needed more than LTM in puzzles. It can get annoying when you realize that you have used a "STM" to remember something from another area, but once you get used to them, it's great!
  10. Home: "A Unique Horror Adventure"

Does anybody want me to make a zip file out of the "secret" disquette files? It would be fun if we managed to figure out it's secrets together.
  11. Resonance

This is super spoiler-y and part speculation but.... And about Anna's dream:
  12. Resonance

    So...
  13. Resonance

I'm loving it too, although I don't like that it has a score system like the old Sierra games. I'm also insanely jealous that you get to go to the launch party, W.B..

I somehow finished story mode in Radiant Silvergun... I know Treasure loves their boss battles, but that was just ludicrous! I lost count on how many forms the final boss had, I'd probably curl up into a fetal postion if I tried to remember. I really hated the tight corridor levels, specially the ones where you had to shoot the pincer bots who are holding the blocks together and fly under them before getting crushed.
  15. Happy Birthday!

    Happy B-day, Sean!

I've been chipping at this one for a while, but I finally finished City of Secret and it's dreadful, you can't really tell what you can pick up and what not, so the game has a button that tells you what you can pick up, except... It's also the hint button, well, more like "I'm telling you EXACTLY what to do button", which you probably need since this game has so much moon logic. It's a Polish game, which might explain why the humor doesn't make any sense either, it was probably lost in translation? In the game's ending, all the characters are interviewed and they all take a dump on the game, this might have been funny if the game wasn't terrible for real. (Thank God I got for free at the iOS app store)
  17. Tomb Raider

I just saw a pre-order for I thought was Tomb Raider, but it was the Hunger Games. I haven't read the book or seen the movie, what are the chances that they are trying to attract the Hunger Games crowd? (I miss my scratching head smiley)
  18. Recently completed video games

I've only beaten two of them, the rest, I either already have or don't care about.
  19. Recently completed video games

I technically 100%'ed inFamous 2 and by technically I mean I got every collectible and the game, but I refuse to replay the game in evil mode to get 100%. I really loved this game, this is only the second sandbox game in which I've done every mission and collected everything, but I don't love it so much that I'm willing to do everything all over again. (Maybe I could just kill innocents until I'm evil, I still don't want to, anyway.)
  20. Tomb Raider

So, this time they are not only rebooting her history, but her whole character as well? That's just illogical. You don't make Kratos play with puppies in the next GoW game to attract a new audience, you make a game for that audience with a new character! Hmm, now I'm wondering if this was going to be some other game in which they shoehorned Lara into, The game industry is so crazy, that I'd believe anything.
  21. Tomb Raider

Apart from how unconformable and creepy the whole "Let's make Lara vulnerable with an attempted rape scene!" thing is that either way, this completely ruins the franchise. Lara always was a thrill seeker and had wanderlust, but if her first "adventure" was so traumatic, that the "future" Lara is now impossible. Unless she's going to become a pyscho and goes an adventures and kills everything because she sees the faces of the people in this adventure. I'm no psychologist, but how can "the female Indy" be born after all they claim will happen to her? Am I the only one who think that it's completely messed up if Lara became an "explorer" after what we've seen? That like telling me a guy wanted to be a sailor after nearly drowning on his last trip were the ship sank, then he saw his family eaten by sharks and was then enslaved and raped by pirates.

I guess you're right about the degree, anything is bearable and even fun if don't right, I've actually enjoyed a turret section a few times. Are you talking about the cloakers or are there even more annoying versions of that enemy? Either way, I'm glad I quit.
  23. Recently completed video games

I'm not talking about annoying endurance arenas, this is the kind of stuff that's annoying on any difficulty level. As in: -All you have to do to beat the level is take the elevator, but the keycard is the hands of soldier "X"! -Oh, you found him? WRONG! He's been taken by a monster to the sewers! And you need a special key to enter the sewers! -Annoying obligatory arena fight with an enemy that's only hard to fight because it's hard to hit! -You have the keycard finally? Good! But the entrance you took just caved in, you better take another route! -You finally made it to the elevator with the keycard? Well... It's broken now! Do the basement and fix it! We promise there won't be another annoying arena fight! No, seriously, there will definitely not be a mini boss/QTE timed event down there, because you've played this level for hours and you just want it to end, why would prolong your suffering... O.K., there is a mini-boss fight, but it's almost a micro boss fight if you come to think of it. This is the kind of "hot potato" I'm talking about, where the programmers will think of just about any excuse to make the level longer, if I have to all this stupidity in my first mission or level and the second is more of the same, I just quit.
  24. Recently completed video games

I tried to beat that game, but I hated it... What's the name you give when a bunch of bullies take something from you and just pass it from one to another? "Hot potato"? Well, that's what this game does, and it does too much of it. Arkham City did a lot of it, but it was through the whole game, you tried to get the cure, but things get getting in your way, but in this game? You need to do a million boring tasks in the same level. By the time I finished the second level I just couldn't take it anymore. :|
  25. Two Guys from Andromeda (Space Quest) Reunion

Well, he doesn't have to be main character, but he does seem like a good candidate, specially with that robot dog thing. If you have a "sidekick", you're likely to be the at least an important character, if not the main one.
