So why does Ubisoft not release the HD version over Steam? That was all technically sound and looked great for the most part (since they didn't up the polygon count on any of the characters) besides my irks with the credits. I think the only big complaint is they removed all the bloom and blur stuff, but eh, I didn't really miss it.

Awww, poor Clank. He's pretty much the opposite of Bling forever.

Where did you read all of that? Surely none of that was presented in game?

Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road CSG Kickstarter
syntheticgerbil replied to toblix's topic in Video Gaming
I have this downloaded as I gave to the Kickstarter but I'll probably put this off for years. As I saw the Kickstarter moving along, I was disappointed over and over with how the game was looking. Gray Matter had a lot of production issues and this thing looks like half the amount of production value was put in to it. Seems the story and puzzles aren't living up so well either. With Leisure Suit Larry leading Kickstarter trend of Sierra developers coming back with mediocrity, I wonder what will become of the Space Quest project when it's finished? At least on that one I have been enjoying the art direction and sneak peaks so far. I really don't want that Gabriel Knight remake. I'm guessing it'll just be worse than before even after getting past the bland 3D models. They are also revoicing everyone as well and I'm sure whoever they get to redraw all the graphic novel style scenes will just not be as good. -
I think there is actually something to the title Beyond Good and Evil, but it's not a morality system or anything. The thing that was never explained is why They can add in Natalie Portman like they did to PoP 2008. That video is extremely old and I doubt it points to anything going on with the game at the moment. If I remember correctly, Murdoc here said that was a target render video by a separate production company (?) that didn't necessarily reflect what the final game would be like. I don't think anyone should be under the idea that this game is going to mirror Assassin's Creed, especially after the success of the recent Rayman games. I would recommend Beyond Good and Evil HD, except Ubisoft made the credits almost three times as long and then made the animated scroll at the end so sluggish to fit with the new time frame. God damn you Ubisoft and your fucking half hour million person credits. (This is a joke, but seriously, it is a major test of patience to see the cliffhanger ending now.)

I actually have no recommendations because unfortunately I'm not really in to the Diablo like games. I guess I just figured in terms of that kind of gameplay, Deathspank was most likely a somewhat shallow clone and used the humor of Ron Gilbert to attract many players who might not have played it otherwise. Maybe I was wrong and I'm selling the game a bit short.

That's the thing, I never had an issue with the forklift puzzle. The shape of the door seemed like it was begging for the forks to be shoved into its holes. But if there was some kind of PC speed issue, that's a whole different thing.

Coit Tower was in Under a Killing Moon. Better go.

Is that more like 40 minutes? I think Prince of Persia 2008 was near 30 minutes. I don't know why Ubisoft feels like they need to credit all of their fucking companies on the planet and not just the actual team for the game that worked on it.

Damn, you beat me to it! I'm pretty sure the game was confirmed as Ancel's next project for sure after Rayman Origins and it was originally announced he was not involved in Rayman Legends. It seems somehow he ended up getting involved in Legends though and even appeared at that little employee strike that they had about the delay forced by the fat cats.

Can I just get one fucking Ubisoft game without 20 minutes of credits?

Wow, so you are intentionally skipping the single most notable thing in Deathspank? I feel hearing Deathspank both act like the biggest jerk and all of the meta talk is the great reward for just kill dudes over and over (to the point of absolute boredom in some cases). Although, I can't speak for quality the third one which does not include Ron Gilbert, since he probably didn't have one iota of writing duty. Maybe Deathspank is not the ideal game of that type for you to play.

Looks like the Short Peace anthology is premiering in select US Theatres. One is near me and I must go. Check areas here: http://www.elevenarts.net/th_gallery/shortpeace/

Apparently because of that they received a grant from the French government. I think I read that on a wiki somewhere at least. Seems like if they weren't going to sell it like they initially announced, wouldn't they have to pay the grant back? Also Origins is officially pissing me off. I'm on the last world and it's fucking cruel. Getting through the levels and getting 350 lums is hard enough before the time trials start. I'm spending nearly 2 hours perfecting one of these levels. Luckily there's only two like that, so I suppose I can move on now.

I'm not putting my lips on that.

I feel like the video most likely eclipses the actual fun of the game by far.
-
That's fine, I'll just make it like Chris' Spelunky I suppose, except I'm not going to stream it.

I can't pick that up.

If you go the PS2 route, only talk to Otis once on Jambalaya Island if even at all (It's not required). If you talk to him a second time, you can never move again after finishing the conversation. If you save, it saves your state of not being able to manipulate controls. I know this because I encountered this bug three years ago and had to start over. I didn't even mean to save, just I was frustrated and the game prompts you to save when exiting to the main menu so I ruined it by pressing a bunch of buttons. Should have just reset the PS2.

Tegan those are brilliant, the Chip and Dale one has become my favorite offensive bootleg merch.

Uh oh, sounds like I'm in for a time for 100%ing Rayman Legends. :/

David Lynch's Josh Brolin's Campo Santo's Fire Watch With Me: A Motion Picture Event

I feel stupid, I just now listened to the podcast from two weeks ago and realized they described it ahead of time. -

I want a bunch of robot arms that you could remotely be obnoxious with. Point at screens and press shortcut keys on the keyboard over someone's shoulder in an impatient annoyance. -
Ah okay, I thought that was the final level or something. I read something in the manual thinking that the point was to collect the teeth. Ah weird, I'm going to look for the dialogue. Do you have any links as well? It's kind of strange to hear this one had another abandoned concept after the possible brilliance of the original Raving Rabbids. That game is strange in the manner in which many assets and characters obviously didn't belong to a party game but were repurposed and never seen again in the Rabbids or Rayman universe.

Wow, they totally got the machine. A little bit underwhelming but it gets the job done. I guess I wasn't expecting a tablet stuck on top of a segway.
