Hey I'm getting married Saturday, but it's at a beachhouse we rented in Galveston (from Austin), so I have to leave in five hours to prep there later this afternoon. I'm super nervous and also exhausted as I've been juggling preparations and school projects for the last two weeks. Then I get back and it's time to keep looking for a part time job! Wish my luck guys so I don't screw up all the lines I have to say. I hate speaking in public, especially personal things. Assuming I don't tell anyone, is it okay for me to take a drink before I go on?

Oh, I'm not even sure why I posted then. Also I find it bizarre that for all of these years people have been using some algorithm for automatic lip sync. I seriously thought everyone did that by hand in games. I feel dumb.

The character's lips are all animated by code and not actual animators, so it's no big deal to lose or redo. Except apparently Glottis' mouth is animated by a person for the Rusty Anchor song according to the recent Tim Schafer playthrough.

I'm not sure the original poster said that he wanted to let casual racism and sexism into his heart. At least that's how I read it.

I might unsubscribe if you guys start pronouncing robots as "robutts." And that is only because of the incredible amount of robot talk that goes on in the Idlethumbs Video Game Podcast.

I hope they add a feature similar to Wind Waker HD where I can draw little pictures with the PS4 and Vita touchscreen as well as take photos and send them via mail tube so that I can share them with my friends in the Land of the Living (or "The Cloud" if you want to get technical). That would also be a great way to trade the coolest tips and tricks like the well known forklift cheat.

I think it's now safe to say that it's going to be the most spectacular video game remake we've ever seen.

But think of how much it would be worth it. I mean it's Sony and Disney money. Who cares?

I'm really interested to see the improvements here. This will have to be one of the most extensive remasters yet. The whole game will have to be formatted to widescreen. I'm guessing all of the prerendered stuff will be real time, backgrounds and cutscenes then probably have to reanimate the camera for every scene. If the backgrounds were real time, I'd love for it to slightly move with Manny. I wonder what decisions will be made with the lip sync animations? I'm guessing actually modeling Glottis' mouth would be a must, but should the mouths of the skeletons stay a texture? It's hard to tell which of the choices were truly made to work within the stylization of low poly 3D and which should be held true in a remake. Maybe the same mouth animations could be done but with more inbetween frames. Argh, this is so cool the more I think of it. It could also be a pretty boring remaster and they could do like all of the HD remastered games so far and just change the texture and models and not rerender the cutscenes. I can only recall Ratchet and Clank 1 and 2 HD switching to 4:3 cutscenes and they weren't so jarring because the cutscenes were usually video recordings or ads, making that aspect ratio make sense. The worst thing about HD remake prerendered stuff is when old cutscenes were rendered with letterbox and all the company did was upscale some grainy 360p video to fit a 720p resolution. The worst is the Sly Collection because that company couldn't be bothered and you get letterboxed and pillarboxed cutscenes. Brilliant. Is it that hard for someone to at least have a full ratio NTSC or PAL master without compression of these cutscenes lying around? Yeah, I really wonder who at what company initiated all of this.

They could try to spin it to the unemployment offices like my previous job did where me making a complaint meant I had a negative attitude and therefore was misconduct. However in Texas, the shitty right to work state, even this did not fly with the hearing officer.

Seems like a joint effort? Happy to hear it's not whoever the hell is left at LucasArts doing it. If they are working with one of the teams in Austin who did the ICO/Shadow HD set or Metal Gear Solid remasters, I will be happy then.

So is Double Fine remastering this or is this Sony sending it to one of their remastering teams? This seems like a bizarre joke.

To give a less joking answer and follow up on you guys, it's just everyone is flawed and a hero is someone you look up to and (possibly) strive to be. However, if the person is famous, you probably don't know about their flaws. Those usually get spilled at some point by tabloids or people they work with and then you think there's a lot to dislike about the person. The bigger disconnect comes when you realize they are someone you don't even know and all you had to work with is the idealized version of them. Although I don't even believe in personal heroes, because you'll see their flaws even more closely and not necessarily ever begin to idealize them as more than just your friend. But maybe I've never met anyone amazing so I don't know. I can always try to be my own hero but I just fuck that up too. Next time I'll be Jesus Rodi.
