  1. Glowing James Cameron... Also I looked up more about this figuring it was some kind of ad Ubisoft paid for to get people to buy Two Thrones. However I am not sure that is the case. Two Thrones came out end of 2005 for the original Xbox and other consoles. This episode of Life premiered near the end of 2007. It had to have been in production at most the beginning of 2007. If Ubisoft had wanted to advertise Two Thrones through a bad TV show, they would have been nearly two years late, considering the 360 was already out by then anyway. The HD version of Two Thrones wouldn't even be out until a few years later. Someone on staff specifically picked this game so they must have had knowledge of how it played, so why show it this way?
  2. Also the object of the game is not to rescue Princess Farrah! She shows up about midway through and you solve areas of the game with her, much like Sands of Time. Naturally she does get captured by the last boss, but still. Also why did they never rewind?! They get pretty tense for a game that is really not that difficult. Gah I can't stop watching this. The lady that plays at the end is pressing the button a million times while walking across a beam. Forget that there is no mention of levels in there. And then why is Windows hidden in Xbox also only accessed through Prince of Persia? I'm just yelling at the obvious. Christ. Also they are using glowing Papyrus font on top of everything in the game. That is not the font used in the game and it looks god awful.

You did the cat puzzle without looking it up?! Congratulations, sir! I nearly gave up myself back then and cheated until I happened to hear a certain announcement while racking my brain.
  4. I really liked that part where Audrey asks for a vehicle quick and Pete says, "I have a truck, it runs great-" and then Audrey cuts him off. Other than that, I wish I could stop watching this garbage show already, but I will stick to the end.
  5. UK Thumbs

Oh sorry I thought we had went to a Lidl near Beflast but I have forgotten.
  6. UK Thumbs

UK supermarkets are strange I guess? I went to Lidl at some point in Ireland last year, seemed fine. It's refreshing to not to have to navigate a behemoth supermarket for some groceries. But I suppose nothing is bad as gross feeling as a Walmart so I just look at it that way. Also seeing a bunch of foreign products I have no sense of context.
  7. Feminism

I think they meant both Alien and the movie Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles. I had to look that up because I thought they meant three obscure movies like you instead of one absurdly long title.
  8. Super Metroid Appreciation Station

Oops I don't think I directly linked to the right one. There was a later "official" one than the Nintendo Power one released as two books. http://www.metroid-database.com/manga/?vid=19&cid=55 However that one released long ago in Nintendo Power is pretty cool. I like that one as well as the Link to the Past one. Both artists do a great job.
  9. Now that I think of it, was Heather Graham ever a GOOD actress?!
  10. Super Metroid Appreciation Station

If you guys are interested, here's translations of the official comic of Samus' past with the Chozo: http://www.metroid-database.com/manga/listing.php?vid=19. The "official" word is that the particular Chozo that took her in knew her parents and felt sorry for her after they were killed by Space Pirates.
  11. Windows 10: "It wouldn't be right to call it Windows 9."

It sucks even more that everytime I look it up to see if there's a fix, I either come across the same reset explorer answer or people saying to check for spyware. WHY MICROSOFT WHY?
  12. Life

Man I wish there was an easy solution to that. I feel like I've been shortchanging myself my whole life with procrastination on projects that require any bit of creative thinking. I always leave this stupid amount of fucking around doing nothing in the beginning of a deadline or working on something else that is less important, then as a deadline approaches I start panicking until I coax myself into thinking I still have plenty of time. Then the week before I work extremely hard no sleep and feel delirious. It seems like this has gotten worse with age. But I feel you Merus and sometimes wondering if this is just a very human thing to do or if it's just some people are too "weak" to just instantly jump at a long term task. And the thing about it is, I don't have this procrastination problem with short tasks. I remember in middle school and high school I was really good at getting all of my homework almost done ASAP depending on free time between classes and lunch so I could go home and hang out with friends and do drugs (since I didn't play video games very much then). But that only worked with stuff that I could say had a solid beginning, middle, and end and therefore came quickly to me like math or physics homework. Research papers were simple for me, it was just rehashing stuff in MLA format which I guess every other student struggled with. But if it were any kind of critical or analytical paper needing my point of view or some kind of long form thing needed revisions and extensive sources I was just rushing to do it all like a few days before. I started doing the same with art/animation projects up to this day.
  13. Windows 10: "It wouldn't be right to call it Windows 9."

What I hate about Windows 8.1 is that my god damn start button never works after a certain amount of time from a fresh restart unless I run a reset.bat file I have set in my quicklaunch tool bar. I mean I have the muscle memory to press the windows key when I want to go to metro interface, but I like to right click on the windows button for control panel and crap as well as drive management. I am amazed no one has fixed this bug so far on any update and that all the solutions require running an idiotic shortcut that only does a temporary fix. It's a really glaring broken thing in an otherwise good (yes I think it's good) operating system and basically makes me want my Win10 update just so the fucking button works consistantly again.
  14. Feminism

I think there was the Criterion movie club for a while. I was considering giving it a go, but then I realized about 95% of the things Criterion releases seem painfully boring to me.

I unplugged the cable for my SNES to finish off my 64 games (Smash, Dr. Mario 64, and Paper Mario(Yes, have officially finished none of these ever)), but then I will go back to SNES and finish the multiude of games on that and then get to Super Metroid and then join the Metroid Fusion winners club afterwards.
  16. Life

Nah I would be paid per print but CBS takes a big chunk. I'm basically expecting to sell about 3 just to be realistic. But I'm happy to do it. Yeah I was thinking I might tap into that thread at some point especially if I do more than one. I definitely just want to do weird crap from the original series. I think they are all on Netflix should I need reference. Most of my knowledge of Star Trek comes from Space Quest. Also previously that was most of my knowledge of Hitchhiker's Guide and various other Scifi things.
  17. Recently completed video games

I just finished Kirby Star Stacker on Super Game Boy. I don't feel like I've finished a game in months and months, everything I have in progress is either too hard (Cave Story) or takes fucking forever (Ratchet and Clank All 4 One, Rayman Legends getting Lvl. 11 Awesomeness, Peacewalker, and Layton 4).
  18. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I'm late to this but I realized I need to listen to Chvrches A LOT. Wonderful stuff.
  19. Life

I just signed a contract to make art for a print or prints of official Star Trek stuff to be sold in various places. I could make zero money but I'm excited to make something official. Also I don't know anything about Star Trek. I hope I don't screw this up...
  20. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

    A modern day Benjamin Franklin!
  21. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

    That took me a second.
  22. Twin Peaks Discussion

I'm sure there was a large amount of children who appreciated such a parody.
  23. Movie/TV recommendations

I suppose I'm in the minority where I don't think I would have liked that movie as much had the third act not played out like that. Although looking around a bit it seems like a lot of people have changed their tune on Sunshine, not sure how recently though. There's a certain amount of tense fear that Garland tends to inject in all of his scripts and I love that. Plus it injected all the highs and lows I expect from a Danny Boyle movie.
  24. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah so Ex Machina was fucking great.
  25. P.T (Playable Teaser for Silent Hills)

    I hope this works!
